Ginger paws made contact with the ground, feeling the nip of the thin layer of frost on the ground. A soft grunt left the she-cat's mouth, the cold was nothing but just another reminder of the coming leafbare and as much as she wished she could say she was ready, she was anything but.
Yes, Redcloud had survived many a leafbare before now but she also didn't have an entire clan depending on her. Or at least not in the way they did now. Or maybe in the end it really was the same kind of dependency that she'd been made to handle as a warrior, just thrown under a different light. Still, the she-cat couldn't help but worry. She just wanted everything to go well for her clan, and for everyone to be alright.
Though that in and of itself was also the reason why she was currently padding towards the medicine cat den. Today she felt it would be a good idea to check up on Coyotepaw and see how his injuries were healing up. The deputy stopped at the entrance and peaked inside to ensure the young one wasn't sleeping and that Smokefur wasn't too busy before coming in and sitting down beside Coyotepaw.
"Hello Coyotepaw, how are you feeling today? " She mewled out softly, giving the tom a soft smile in the hopes of lifting his spirits a bit. There was no way of knowing if the young cat was feeling down or not, though she could only imagine what it must be like to be stuck in one place all day with nothing to do but wait for your body to heal.
