Amber eyes cut through the fog, keeping a keen eye out as the ginger she-cat led her apprentice to the clearing. One could easily say that she was crazy for even considering taking the younger cat out with fog this thick surrounding them, but to Redcloud, it only served as an aid in today's lesson.
She'd made a point to try and teach Sootoaw the basic moves of battle, and even a few more advanced ones before today. However, she was intent on putting the kitten's skills to the test. What better way to test a cat's abilities than to simulate a real ambush after all?
Turning her head back for a moment to ensure her apprentice was still close behind her, the tabby soon stopped in the middle of the Pine needle clearing. She allowed a brief moment of silence for the kitten to take her seat before addressing her. "Do you know why I brought you out here in spite of this fog Sootpaw?" She pondered curious to see if the small cat could already tell what she had in store for her.

6 Moons. Apprentice. Nightclan.
Sootpaw was seriously wondering what her mentor was up to, trekking through the territory blind didn't seem to be the best of plans. The fog hindering their sight was cause for alarm in Sootpaw's mind, the territory which she was still learning was no longer distinguishable and she certainly felt lost. Then there was the part of Sootpaw's mind that wondered if they were safe, even though they were wandering their own territory, as there had been a fox on their territory recently. With all these thoughts running through her head Sootpaw was snapped back to reality when Redcloud asked her why they were out in the fog. The tiny gears in Sootpaw's head began to whir into life as she formulated a reply, sadly her usually sass and sarcasm were laid on quite thick. "You brought me out here to kill me didn't you?" The apprentice mewed in a rather serious tone which she was quite proud of given the circumstances. At no point in time had she figured this was going to be a useful training session, something that she would soon learn was never the case with her mentor.

NightClan Deputy - 30 Moons - She-Cat
Redcloud scoffed at the kitten's response, wondering how the smaller cat could have come to the conclusion that she'd ever want to hurt her. "No, I didn't bring you here to kill you. I've brought you out here because I think it's time to test your skills. You've been doing well in your training thus far and I'm curious to see how you'd react in an actual battle. Depending on how well you do, I may or may not consider training you harder." She meowed out confidently.
"That being said, you don't exactly need to win this battle, but I should at least see some effort on your part, lest you actually want more rigorous training sessions." The ginger she-cat gave a wry smirk, her tail swaying to and fro behind her. "In which case I'd be happy to oblige. Now, you may have a moment or two to prepare for this, once you feel you are ready just let me know. But don't take too long, or I might just decide to start things myself."
