Description Summary: A soft blonde brown she-cat with honey colored eyes.
Personality: Honeysong is of a sweet disposition, gentle and kind to those around her. She's patient and a good listener, always having a word of advice when its needed. She's quiet and tends to watch other cats long before she interacts with them. Not that's she's unsocial, because she's not, she just prefers to understand a situation before entering into it herself. Sometimes, after all, there are conversations that a she-cat just shouldn't be privy to. In her youth she was easily distracted and prone to more fanciful leanings, but as she's grown into adulthood and well into her senior warrior years she's learned to channel this tendency into more productive, if creative, methods of hunting. She's loyal and completely devoted to those that hold the closest place in her heart, and believes that everything happens in its own time and with its own purpose. Good or bad, StarClan must have a reason for letting it happen.
History: Honeysong doesn't know who her parents were, just that they were TreeClan cats since she was left in a nest within the nursery for one of the other queens to discover. She was abandoned as a small kit and no one ever claimed her as theirs. She was left to be raised by the queens of the nursery, and thinks that maybe her mother didn't want to remain in the nursery so was perhaps a warrior. She was always a quiet kit, tried her best not to get into trouble or make things difficult for her minders. But she craved affection and sought it out in some not so safe places. Like cranky clan elders that were better left alone, or their very busy clan leader. She never meant any harm, simply sought the affection she craved as a kit.
As Honeypaw she joined the ranks of apprentices. After only a few years as an apprentice, she started to notice another apprentice. Lionpaw was large and glorious, a sight to behold in training. She was very quickly smitten with the young tom. She tried to arrange things with her mentor to train as often as possible with the tom and his mentor because he was larger and at that time she was very small. She wanted to learn how to defend herself against a larger cat, she told her mentor and felt that a grown cat would be too much beyond her to help. Two apprentices sparring wasn't all that unusual, even as she was a she-cat and he a tom, but it was here that Honeypaw learned her first hard lesson. Lionpaw was constantly after another apprentice, one closer to his age she was sure. She stood no chance, and so told herself it was a silly crush and she'd help him anyway.
Moons went by, and as she grew more into herself, Honeysong settled more into the roll of a warrior and less of the smitten young cat she'd once been. She still felt for Lionstep, but now realized that he may never see her that way and she should move on. And eventually, she would. At 35 moons old she met a charming black and white tom named Dustburrow. He was attentive towards her, treated her very well, and seemed to love her. They courted for several moons before deciding they'd be mates. Honeysong thought her life had finally found its happy ending, especially once she found out she'd be having Dustburrow's kits. She was wrong.
Dustburrow had become slowly distant and she hadn't noticed, he always came back and always paid her attention. It was when she told him he was going to be a father that things went sour. He told her that he didn't want to be her mate anymore, that he was bored of her and that he'd found a prettier she-cat to pledge his love to. Honeysong was left with a broken heart. After this he barely came to see her, and she fell further and further into her heartbreak. She would confide only in Lionstar, feeling as if he would understand. He'd had a hard time with love as well, after all. It was, with only a short time before she was due, that Dustburrow came back to her. He pretended to be remorseful about leaving her, telling her she was his one true love and that they should have some time together. She wanted to believe so much in him, that she didn't question when he led her heavily pregnant from the clan's dens and the safety of the nursery.
He brought her almost to the border then attacked her, knocking her out. When she came to it was to the rancid breath of Demon. Already disoriented and now terrified the she-cat made a panicked run for it. She knew that, if she hadn't come back to when she had, then she'd have likely died. Honeysong ended up stranded in a tree, where her labor began from the stress she was under. Her body was already battered from being assaulted earlier, and now her injuries burned and her body heaved. She remained stuck overnight in the tree before Demon finally lost interest and left. Her pain was overwhelming by that time, and she knew something had gone wrong with her labor. It was only her sheer willpower and determination to keep this from happening to another she-cat that kept Honeysong going as she practically crawled her way back to camp. She doesn't remember why she went for the leader's den rather than the medicine cat's den, but there she was discovered by Lionstar just outside the leader's den. She only managed to tell him what had happened before losing her grip on consciousness. When she woke up again, she'd already lost her kits. She was 38 moons old at this time.
Less than a week later, under a heavy cloud of depression, a desperate tom named Leafbrindle begged her to save his kits after their mother died right after they'd been born. She hadn't gone back to warrior duties yet, as she was still recovering, and she'd begun producing milk despite everything, and so agreed. It was the most healing experience of her life, nursing those four tiny kits. Though they couldn't replace the litter she'd lost, they went a long way in healing her broken heart. It was after they were old enough, safely in the apprentice's den, that she finally felt strong enough to return to her duties as a warrior.
