Tinytail slowly walked around the boarders, her eyes slowly moving around, checking everywhere. She had to make sure the clan wasn't getting any invaders, you never know when Treeclan might try to attack after all, they were all enemies to Nightclan. None of them could be trusted. For all she knew they could be planning an attack right now. She let out a soft hiss before continuing her patrol. For now she was on her own, sure, she could of taken others with her, but why bother them when she herself could do the job? She didn't want to stop the warriors from doing other important duties like training apprentices and gathering prey. Tinytail stood out like a needle in a haystack with her white fur, but it made no difference whatsoever. She didn't care if she stood out, if anyone wanted to attack her, then let them for all she cared. There wasn't a single clan who could match the strength of Nightclan. It was by far the strongest of the clans, they they didn't even have to try to destroy the clans if they wanted to.
Redcloud silently padded towards the Deer Path, carrying a bull frog in her jaws. She had just finished hunting and wanted to check the border before heading back to camp. Once she got there however, she spied her good friend Tinytail already there. Taking a moment to bury her prey in the ground, the she-cat soon approached her white-furred companion, dipping her head to her in greeting. "Good day Tinytail, how are you this fine day?" She asked.
Briefly, the flame-colored she-cat looked out over the border as he companion had been doing. Of course, she had been staring off into Treeclan territory, as though anticipating an attack from their foes. It only made sense after all, Tinytail didn't trust any of the other clans and there were many feelings of malcontent for their forest dwelling counterparts. "Ah I see, keeping an eye on Treeclan to make sure they don't try and attack us? Very clever my friend." She said, giving a light chuckle.
Tinytail turned and gave a small smile when she saw her friend, Redcloud. They had been friends since apprenticeships, and it was always good to see her. She closed her eyes and continued to smile, just being near her was nice. She could actually relax, and know that if they were attacked right now, the two could fend them off easily. She lifted her head once more and opened her eyes to look at Redcloud once more. Tinytail was glad she saw what she was doing, but then again, Redcloud knew her more than anyone else did. Of course she would know.
"Well, you never know, do you? For all we know, they may be planning an attack right now. They can't be trusted, nobody can. They are all our enemies, every single one, every clan, every loner, they are all enemies to us. I'm glad you see my view Redcloud, when I'm with you, I feel like we could fend of any intruder."
She walked closer to her and sat at her side. She then stared out at the boarder once more. Her tail swished gently side to side as she sat beside her childhood friend.
"That's right, as long as we're together we can take on any enemy!" Redcloud agreed., playfully nudging Tinytail with her paw. "After all, even the strongest of Treeclan warriors is are but fleas compared to the might of Nightclan!" The ginger cat gave a gentle chuckle.
"So, have you seen a single trace of any intruders yet? Or have they all been too cowardly to come and approach you? I know sometimes cats will get uncomfortably close to crossing the borders at times and we have to be wary of that, Why just the other day I was passing by the wooded marsh trying to catch a lizard and I spotted some foolish Rainclan cat getting close to crossing the border." She hissed at the thought of a Rainclan cat trying to attack them.
"So I did the only sensible thing that I could and warned him that if he didn't keep to his side of the border I'd knock him into Starclan. You should have seen how fast he ran! What a coward!" She laughed. "Oh I wish you had been there, we would have given that weakling something to really be scared of if we were there together."
Tinytail laughed softly nodding in agreement with Redcloud. When the question came though, Tinytail looked out towards the boarders and was about to answer when Redcloud spoke once more. Once again, she laughed at her story, she honestly found the other cats quite pathetic. Why were there four clans to begin with? It was clear Nightclan was the supreme. If it were her choice, she'd attack the borders and conquer more land, why? Because weak cats didn't deserve territory they could not control.
"I haven't seen anyone yet, except for a border control, but they quickly moved on. They didn't dare to come through here, but oh, I wish I was there to see that, it would of made my day. If it were my choice, I'd take the territory before they could even call 'help'. After all, they don't deserve it, why should we like pathetic little runts like them keep the territory? We could use it for so much more."
Tinytail smiled, and then looked back towards the border. She only wished that the deputy or the leader would see her view. She hadn't talked to them about it, not yet, but maybe she should. After all, they were Nightclan, so they should see her view as clear as daylight.
That was a good question, why hadn't they set out to take territory from the other clans yet? "Hm, well perhaps Dimstar is simply biding his time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. You know how logical he is, he's probably just waiting for our numbers to grow enough to take them all on in a single battle. Either way, I'm sure there's a good reason for it. Imagine if one of us was deputy, or even leader though! How great would that be? We could make sure Nightclan stays pure and free of loner and halfclan blood and lead our clan on a path towards greatness." Redcloud mewled out excitedly. "Then moons after we're gone, they'll tell stories about us and how we changed the clan for the better. We'd go down in history as some of the greatest cats to ever lead Nightclan to glory! Wouldn't it just be amazing?"
Tinytail gave a simple nod to her, that would be amazing, she had to admit that. She wanted to be leader so much, she would make Redcloud her deputy without a doubt. She looked to the sky for a moment, thinking about the things she would do if she were the leader. After a few minutes, she looked back to Redcloud and spoke happily.
"If I were leader, I'd make you my deputy without a second thought. Then, I'd attack the rest of the clans, and make Nightclan number one! We would rule side by side, let our judging eyes protect the clan. We'd kill any cat who were half clan, or even loner! We would make an example of them, show everyone that we do not accept such disgusting things Nightclan!"
She smiled brightly, then, she attempted to rest her head upon Redcloud's shoulder. She let out a soft sigh, she was happy Redcloud was here with her, she felt happy with her around, she felt so much calmer, she felt safer.
Redcloud happily nestled her head into her companion's fur, content to dream of a life where they were in charge. "Our clanmates would be so happy with us leading them. Before long, we'd have the other clans driven out of the valley and Nightclan would flourish with lots of happy families and new kittens." The ginger she-cat purred out softly at the thought of such a peaceful life.
"Sure there would still be some danger, like demon, foxes and stuff like that, but it's nothing we wouldn't be able to handle together. Nightclan can handle a few silly predators, especially when there are no other clans to get in our way. If they were gone, it would only be so long before our numbers had grown so much that we as a clan could wipe out all of the foxes in the area. Then we could get rid of Demon as well!" She giggled out.
It was all quite amusing to think, maybe even kittenish to imagine they'd so easily be able to accomplish such a feat. Though she felt like she could do anything with Tinytail by her side. Regardless of how impossible it truly was in the end.
Tinytail listened to Redcloud and stood up proudly. She nodded her head, agreeing completely. Honestly, she couldn't wait to be deputy. Of course, she knew Redcloud would make her deputy, there wasn't any other choice.
"We would make mighty leaders. I just can't wait to be deputy."
With that Tinytail jumped up on the highest place she could, then she began to sing out loudly, full of excitement and happiness.
"I'm gonna be a mighty leader, so enemies beware! I'm going to be the main event like no cat was before! I'm brushing up on looking down, I'm working on my hiss!
Oh I just can't wait to be Deputy!
No one saying do this, no one saying be there, no one saying stop that, no one saying see here!
Free to do what I want, free to do it all my way!
Oh I just can't wait to be Deputy! Oh I just can't wait to be Deputy! Oh I just can't wait to be Deputy! Oh, I just can't waaaaaaaait to be Deputy!"
She smiled and jumped down to Redcloud. She then looked serious for a second, she knew it was obvious, but she had to ask.
"You will make me deputy, right Redcloud?"
She tilted her head for a second, waiting for her answer. She just wanted to hear it from Redcloud then she would be happy.
Redcloud wasn't quite sure what to make of the sight before her. Her best friend in the world suddenly breaking into song was certainly not something she expected to see today. In the end, she wasn't really sure whether to laugh and play it off or to started nudging Tinytail in the direction of the medicine cat's den.
Eventually, she decided to just go with it and when the song was over she gave an awkward chuckle. "That was a lovely song Tinytail but uh, if having you as my deputy means you're going to sing more often then I'm afraid I'll have to pass. But seriously, I do intend to make you my deputy when the time comes for me to become leader. There's no cat I'd trust more with the safety of our clan than you. Though I'm serious, you should probably try to avoid randomly bursting out into song in front of our clanmates or they might think you need to take a trip to see Smokefur." The ginger she-cat chuckled softly, nuzzling her companion close.
