B O N E P A W 15 Moons. Tom. NightClan. ⇒I'm bad behavior but I do it in the best way⇐
Finally. Bonepaw had been denied his opportunity to attend the Gathering twice before, and if Dimstar had held him back for the third time, Bonepaw would've done something rash.
Well, not really.
Unless spreading horrible lies and untruths to Dimstar's kits counted as 'rash'. Bonepaw was the vengeful kind, but he was crafty about his vengeance. It was easier to tell a lie than start a fight, he'd learned that one in the nursery.
But enough of what he would've done, it was time to consider what he was planning to do now that he was here. Unlike some of the other fresh-faced apprentices making up the other two Clans, Bonepaw didn't feel nervousness clawing in his belly. Somehow, he felt as if he'd been born for situations like these. He may've been difficult to motivate, but as far as encouragement went, pretty she-cats he wasn't related to worked well.
Perfectly groomed, irritatingly handsome (in his entirely biased opinion, anyway) and in the mood to talk to some cats he'd never seen before, Bonepaw made a cool, easy stride through StarClan's Claws, ignoring Dimstar completely now that he knew he didn't have to be glued to the tom's side. You just stay right up there, Dimstar.
Singling out a pretty she-cat that smelled of TreeClan (unpleasant to his nose, but he'd get over it) and looked a little younger than himself, Bonepaw sat near her, posture relaxed as he fixed his bicolored eyes upon the ginger-pelted feline. Bonepaw allowed himself a rare smile, trying to catch her attention and exercise his need to flirt in the same instance.

[smear:87CEFF]Heronpaw[/smear:FAF0E6] ~~~~~~~~~
The pale she-cat lingered near the back of the patrol as the group of StoneClan cats trekked to StarClan's claws. She'd nearly asked her father to let her stay behind tonight. The last thing she wanted at the moment was to be amongst a throng of cats of various Clans; couldn't she just remain in the comfort of StoneClan tonight? But fear of disappointing both her father and mentor kept her quiet, and she'd trudged off to join the gathered patrol when she'd been awoken after her preparation nap earlier in the evening.
Soft cream ears pricked up at the sudden sound of many cats. How had they already arrived so quickly? Her gaze darted around rapidly, a look of mixed alarm and confusion written on her features before she was able to mask it. Clearing her throat softly, she braced herself for her father's signal. It came in the telltale wave of his tail, and soon Heronpaw was charging forth with a rest of StoneClan. She watched her father pull away to take his spot on the boulders, whereas her trajectory took her directly into the growing group of Clan cats below. Rapidly scanning her surroundings, the apprentice tried her best to track an appropriate place to settle.
A quick scent check told her that LightningClan had yet to arrive. Good... At least that means I don't have to worry about sitting with any of them... She thought to herself a little bitterly. Maneuvering around some older cats, she pinpointed what appeared to be a group of apprentices; they were slighter in build than the warriors, but looked comparable in age to herself. Maybe I'm not the only one who didn't get their name right away... Admittedly, the thought made her feel a little better. Her cream and white paws slowed to a stop as she approached the group, weaving her way in.
She did her best to keep a small profile; she'd inherited a little of her father's broad shoulders, though she'd also been lucky enough to inherit her mother's long, plush fur. It helped to mask her frame a little, making her less self conscious about it. "I don't mean to interrupt..." She mewed as she sat herself down. Brilliant blue eyes glanced briefly from the ginger she-cat to the white tom. Admittedly, he caught her attention for a moment. She couldn't help but find the nature of his eyes fascinating.
It would be... So cool to have something to set you apart like that. Dragging her sharp gaze away from his, she glanced over her shoulder and did her best to pull a nonchalant tone to her voice. "You just looked like you were around my age, and I thought it would be more fun to be around some younger cats." As her blue eyed gaze returned to the white tom, she shrugged her shoulders slightly. "I can leave if I'm interrupting."

Badgerpaw wasn't entirely sure why she had to come along to the gathering. Honestly, while she felt it was an honor to join her clanmates in such an event, she would much rather have been back at camp. At least then she wouldn't feel as though she had to converse with anyone. Right now, a part of her mind was practically nagging her to go and socialize, making her feel as though it would be rude if she didn't, disrespectful almost. Though truth be told, she didn't really have much respect for the other clans, she barely had respect for her own clanmates. Still, whilst the tuxedo cat glanced around at all of the cats from different clans mingling together, she could feel her legs carrying her off in the direction of a group of apprentices. 'Great, just what I needed, to be near cats just as young as me. At least I could tolerate being around warriors.' She thought grumpily, nearing the group. Her ears twitched slightly as she approached them, realizing that one of them was speaking to the other. She was saying something about the tom she was talking to, looking to be around her age. Apparently she thought it would be fun to be around other cats her age. "That's up for debate really, I'd honestly much rather be chatting with the elders right now." She suddenly piped up, not caring if she ruined their conversation. Casually, she looked over at Heronpaw and nodded. "Right, you weren't talking to me, sorry about that."

Sparrowpaw
I'll give you something to believe in Put out the basement full of demons Realize you're a slave to your mind, break free Now give me something to believe in
The tortoiseshell she-cat could not describe her surprise when she had found out she was invited to her first gathering. Only just having reached apprentice age, Sparrowpaw had known that her time to attend a Gathering would eventually come, but hadn't thought it would be time so soon. Why me? Am I really the best example of what TreeClan has to offer? the apprentice couldn't help but wonder, as she tossed and turned over the news and prepared herself for the journey ahead. Though she knew Lionstar probably hadn't picked her to "show off TreeClan" but rather to give her an exciting new experience and a bit of happiness, Sparrowpaw couldn't keep her feelings of inferiority at bay.
The anxiety of living up to expectations gnawed away at her belly from the moment she received the news to the moment she set paw on StarClan's Claws. Though Sparrowpaw kept to herself most of the journey, the apprentice became desperate to see a familiar face amid tens of unfamiliar ones. Her senses bombarded by the many unique scents of cats she didn't know, Sparrowpaw relied on her eyesight to spy a familiar pelt among the crowd. I just can't be alone ... These other cats don't have any reason to pretend to be nice to me, the TreeClanner thought to herself, feeling nearly sick to her stomach as she contemplated being alone with unfriendly characters.
With her green eyes darting quickly along the masses of colorful pelts, she spied a familiar black and white pattern not too far away from her. Badgerpaw! The apprentice set off, walking at a fairly quick pace to avoid being stopped by anyone and forced into a conversation. Given that Sparrowpaw was so tiny, the apprentice was practically weaving her way in between the pelts of cats in conversation -- ignoring who she interrupted and glancing back behind her only once or twice to apologize to a cat she had bumped into.
In a few moments, Badgerpaw was in her sight. Excitedly, Sparrowpaw rushed towards the familiar face, only to stop dead in her tracks. The apprentice could feel her blood drain from her body as she realized something she had failed to contemplate. Badgerpaw isn't alone, the apprentice realized, seeing that the black and white TreeClanner was socializing with cats she had never seen before. Cats from other clans .... Sparrowpaw thought to herself, feeling her gut churn with an all-too-familiar feeling of anxiety. "H-hi guys, I'm Sparrowpaw," she blurted out, making an honest effort to keep her fur from rising up beneath her pelt.

15 Moons. Tom. NightClan.
⇒I'm bad behavior but I do it in the best way⇐
Maybe there was a StarClan after all. Bonepaw smiled coolly, watching a pretty StoneClan she-cat approach him, appreciating the soft ginger coloring on her nose and ears, as if dusted ever so lightly by the morning light. He hadn't been able to catch the TreeClan apprentice's eye, but the appearance of two others—a black and white she-cat with a cynical disposition and a shy tortoiseshell calling herself Sparrowpaw—more than made up for it.
"You're not interrupting. I'm Bonepaw. It's nice to see some new faces here. Is this your first Gathering?" There was no way he was going to admit that this was his first Gathering, and so long as he maintained an almost haughty disposition, an unbothered stance of 'I know what I'm doing' that the others wouldn't be able to question, no one would find out his secret.
Bonepaw's bicolored eyes went to each of the she-cats now in his company, sharing a tempered smile in turn. This is more like it. Blackwolf was skulking about somewhere, but he doubted his father would interrupt; if he knew that old warrior even half as well as he thought he did, then Blackwolf was probably swapping battle stories with some of the other Clans—the ones that didn't hate him for killing Sandstar, that is.
No RainClan cats here. Maybe their neighbors across the marshlands were giving them a wide berth? Bonepaw wouldn't blame them; he might've been lazy, by all accounts, but he wasn't stupid and he wasn't weak. He could fight. Better yet, he could win. Maybe they sensed that about him and kept their distance? Truce or no truce. With the practiced subtlety of a tom who had spent many moons checking out the she-cats in his Clan (Poisonleaf was beautiful, but she was also Blackwolf's age; there was desperate and then there was... whatever that was), Bonepaw began to notice little features about each of them.
Sparrowpaw's eyes were lined in black, which Bonepaw found to be very striking. The cynical one, she had keen amber eyes he hadn't noticed on anyone else, and looked especially good against the dark fur on her face. And the StoneClanner, no one in NightClan had ever looked like that.
With all the patience of a saint, Bonepaw curled his tail around his paws, relaxed as he waited for the rest of them to introduce themselves. His Clanmates didn't know it, but he could be very friendly and charming—it just took the right crowd.

At first, Pikepaw had been content to sit with his sister and wait until this whole thing was over, but somewhere between arriving and pressing into the crowd he lost sight of her, and decided no harm would come from sitting with a nearby group of apprentices—all of which seemed to smell of a different clan.
Only out of four of them was a tom, but unlike his Nightclan counterpart, he wasn’t at the Gathering to flirt. He was more than a little unhappy with Rainclan, but romanticizing non-Rainclan cats didn’t seem like the best way to enact his revenge. He mused, as he quietly took a seat beside Badgerpaw, that two out of five wasn’t the worst odds; he had no clue that Bonepaw had been enjoying the female attention for all of the wrong reasons, and that his presence would be taking away from his spotlight. If he had known, however, it wasn’t like he would’ve changed his mind about joining them.
“Aren’t new faces just the best?” He sneered, making a mockery out of what was for all intents and purposes a simple and nice statement. He looked at Badgerpaw from the corner of his eye, finding something he could relate to in the depths of her cold, beady eyes—he had chosen the right cat to sit beside, after all. “I’m Pikepaw, and this would be my first one. I’ve got to say it’s nowhere near as exciting as everyone made it out to be.” Adding an eye-roll for emphasis, he stared through the group of mingling apprentices with disinterest, searching for the familiar shape of his sister.
He didn’t have Bonepaw’s uniquely coloured eyes, but the hints of salmon through his black fur made for an interesting combination that could easily pose a threat to the white NightClanner; and just because he didn’t particularly care for appearances didn’t mean he didn’t see the appeal in the handsome, cerulean eyes he inherited from his mother.

[smear:87CEFF]Heronpaw[/smear:FAF0E6] ~~~~~~~~~
There was a brief moment where Heronpaw felt herself stiffen. It occurred just as two other apprentices pulled up to the growing party. Until their scents drifted to her nose, she feared that they might be LightningClan apprentices. Of course, that was ridiculous, seeing as LightningClan had yet to arrive. But alas, the scent of TreeClan simply grew stronger, and the she-cat allowed herself to relax once more. And of course, relaxing meant allowing herself to sneak another peek at the bi-colored eyes of the NightClan tom sitting nearby. She barely managed to pivot one ear in the direction of the black coated TreeClanner, to catch what she was saying.
Slowly, her blue eyes shifted to look her in the amber eyes. Her eyes narrowed slightly at what this particular TreeClanner had to say; the StoneClan apprentice had to bite her tongue to stop from making a comment that might be taking in the wrong way. Instead, she flicked her tail just so and spoke quietly. "Well, there are no elders here, but I'm sure there are senior warriors about who wouldn't mind talking to you, if that's what you prefer." Promptly looking away to the second TreeClan apprentice, Heronpaw offered the more timid she-cat a small smile.
Before she could reply, the white tom spoke up again, introducing himself as Bonepaw. It was here she realized she hadn't actually introduced herself. Ignoring the way her pelt heated up at her stupidity, she dipped her head to Bonepaw before fixing him with her bright blue eyes once more. "It's a pleasure to meet you all." She replied politely; if she'd learnt anything from her father, it was how to be polite. "My name is Heronpaw. And no, this is not my first Gathering. I was at the last one, too. When RainClan didn't show up."
She'd spent most of that night glancing around with curiosity, and hadn't spoken to anyone at all. She felt as though this Gathering was closer to what a Gathering should be. At the approach of another tom, who smelt undoubtedly of RainClan, the StoneClan apprentice couldn't help but mutter beneath her breath. "Looks like they made it this time." She couldn't help but feel glad that the black TreeClan she-cat was between her and the RainClan newcomer, Pikepaw. Although RainClan wasn't as bad as LightningClan in her eyes, they had still been a part of the StormClan raid on StoneClan, and she found it hard to forgive that, despite the fact she'd not experienced it herself.
Perhaps that accounted for the way she seemed to lean just ever so slightly closer to the white NightClan tom.

Badgerpaw smiled warmly when she spotted Sparrowpaw, happy to see a fellow Treeclan apprentice amongst the sea of strangers. She was about to invite her to sit beside her, but that spot was quickly filled by a tom that smelled distinctly like Rainclan. She frowned slightly, but still decided to offer her clanmate a seat. "Hey Sparrowpaw, if you want to, you can sit with me." She said before turning her attention to the tom beside her, listening to him as he spoke. “Aren’t new faces just the best?” Badgerpaw couldn't help but roll her eyes at this statement. Oh how she wanted to push this tom off of a cliff, and she barely even knew him. Why did he have to sit next to her? That seat could have easily been reserved for someone she actually knew and cared about. Instead, she had to sit next to the most annoying and cynical tom she'd yet to meet. “I’m Pikepaw, and this would be my first one. I’ve got to say it’s nowhere near as exciting as everyone made it out to be.”'No, not exactly as exciting as I would have hoped it to be.Maybe because I'm not in the best of company though.' She briefly thought to herself before realizing that she never mentioned her name. "Ah, Pikepaw huh, I suppose it's nice to meet you. My name is Badgerpaw, you'll have to forgive me for not being more excited myself actually, I just can't really get into an event that involves socializing with cats that smell of fish." She responded with a soft chuckle. "Sorry, just a light bit of teasing, it really is nice to meet you all though."@sparrow Insidious BlooRey DVD Fawn
