Name: Valiantkit / Valiantpaw / Valiantstride
Age: 24
Gender: Tom
Clan: StoneClan
Rank: Warrior
Picture:Click
Description: One of those things that tend to happen to runts like Valiantstride is that they remain small, but luckily this tom doesn't face that problem. He grew to average height, just a bit shorter than his father but a narrow built like his mother. Valiantstride is built for speed and agile movements that allow him to make quick and sharp turns when navigating the stones within his Clans territory. Very sure footed, Valiantstride doesn't have problems with balance and his long tail helps him greatly.
His blotched markings make him a stunning sight, it's a pattern carried by his mother's side of the family and when they conflict with his golden pelt they make him quite handsome. Those pretty green eyes soften his face and since he is normally very friendly its not a wonder they seem to light up when he talk to other cats. Short haired make those summer days a easier to bare but require he snuggle close with someone during the colder leaf-bare but nothing hinders him anymore than it should, and over all quite a striking cat.
Description Summary: Golden tabby with black blotch markings and green eyes of average height.
Personality:Although it seems cowardly of him to not seek out a aggressive life, it doesn't not make him any less brave. He would face down any foe if it meant life or death for him or a loved one. He'd face blizzards and rainstorms to find a meal. Valiantstride does not back down from a challenge even if he was fighting for the losing side. As long as his heart is in it he will fight and die trying to win.
Valiantstride does not seek out fighting. He understands the tensions between each Clan and realizes the ups and downs that are faced with Clan life but he does not believe that the answer to all of life's questions is with tooth and claw. However, it is best you don't assume that because he is peaceful he is afraid to fight. When back into a corner he will lash out with tooth and claw to ensure his survival. Valiantstride has his own idea of what is right and wrong and isn't afraid to stand by them. He admires the Warrior Code and follows it but isn't strict to it. He has built his own code that he lives by and tries to stay within the realm of Clan life. He recognizes StoneClan as the place of his birth and loves the cats within the camp as his own family but he doesn't understand why very few actually explore the area around them. During his short time in the mountain he grew to love the area and on days he isn't so busy he tries to venture there again. Not truly content with living an idle life on the same beaten path as so many cats before him, Valiantstride is quite open to new idea and horizons as long as they don't break his own code.
History:
Kit
Lillywish and Weaselbite had been mates a little over two moon when she became heavy with his kits. It was clear that her first litter was going very smoothly. The prey didn't run well enough for her to gain the right amount of weight and for most of her pregnancy she was on the side of too thin. It was not a surprise when she went into early labour that few kits would survive it was actually a miracle that she survived and the tom that struggled along her was sickly. Having been born too early his sisters died during the labour process but he hung on and it became the Clan's focus to help this kit along even if his window of survival was growing slimmer each day. Somehow by the grace of StarClan the prey started to run again and soon enough Lillywish was fat enough to nurse him as long as he wanted but the trials of being born early weren't smoothing away with a full belly. It was expected that the young golden tom would pass away but his mother wouldn't give up so easily. Her mate hadn't wanted to name him, feeling that it would only cause them more grief when the moment came but in secret she named him: Valiantkit in hopes he would become to bring honour to that name. Over the course of the next two days he grew stronger and actually was capable to move around without too much trouble, he still had breathing problems and coughed a lot during the night but he was strong and to Lillywish that was all that mattered.
Upon opening his eyes to that baby blue color he was greeted with a warm nose to his face and a playful lick to his cheek. His nose started to work a little after that and so did his ears. It wasn't long until he was able to recognize the sound of his mother's voice and his father's deep rumble of a voice. His nose picked out the smell of milk and stayed near it and his eyes tried to focus on the fast moving shapes that were his parents. Valiantkit's senses matured and he was able to explore camp without worrying his mother too much and sure enough he explored. First it was the nursery walls then the opening to the warm den, which later progressed to the area around the den. He attempted twice to follow his father out but it wasn't allowed and he was always picked up and taken back to his mother. He didn't know many cats at that age but he knew the medicine cat well because he was often visited to make sure he was growing in all the right places. Valiantkit's mother allowed him more freedom when he was given a clean bill of health and showed no lasting affects of being born early and in a poor time. He flourished after this benchmark and grew a little more restless inside the nursery.
Apprentice
He turned 6 moons just a little shorter than average but it was clear he wouldn't remain that way. Being the only one old enough to become a new apprentice it was a bit of a discussion on who would mentor him but it came down to an elderly senior warrior that had trained his own fair share of young cats. Rocktooth was a scary looking warrior with his face almost always in a snarl. He gave off the vibe of anger and hatred when in reality he was just bitter about those he had lost in the past and personally wasn't the most eager of mentors, having watched his oldest apprentice die in a battle. Rocktooth was strict with Valiantpaw and taught him how to be a warrior and use his now permanent shorter stature to his advantage. Rocktooth was a capable cat but his fear of a coming war made Valiantpaw uneasy. It became very clear that Valiantpaw and his mentor didn't blend well and when he passed all his tests it was a relief to be given his warrior name.
Warrior
Valiantstride was given that name for his streamline appearance and careful hunting skills to track down prey over the rocky terrain that StoneClan called home. It was clear he felt most alive among the hard stones and enjoyed nothing more than feeling the rough rocks on the pads of his feet as he stalked his meals. This fluid motion had carried to all parts of his life and while he was an excellent hunter he lacked the ferocity to be a fighter for anything not linked to protecting his own life or his Clanmates. He didn't learn his mentor's paranoia but he is not blind to tensions between each Clan.
