Hollowcry
Without his posse, to many he was just another cat. His sharp glares received little the recognition he believed them to deserve, his judgments, the calculations that backed them up far from being thoughtful of their shared clan status, rude and arrogant but still of minimum mental infliction when he was not flanked by his friends. Pale yellow eyes grew increasingly confined, this realization beginning to effect his mood as he sat idly by the warriors' den, a glare as painful as stabbing thorns threatening to consume those that passed him by, yet they all remained seemingly unconcerned with the dark brown follower of Blackwolf.
A huff sounded from his small jaw, the smaller-than-average tom rising to all fours and stretching out his front limbs. Things were too quiet when he was absent of his friends, yet that was needless to say he didn't sometimes enjoy it. Of course, he always craved the superiority that accompanied walking at Blackwolf's heels, snickers and conniving glances exchanged with those that he deemed socially beneath him. Being classified as a loyal, ever-obedient member of Blackwolf's posse wasn't always as great as it was made out to be – especially when the terms loyal and ever-obedient failed to be registered as words of importance when he was absent of the black feline's presence – because there was nothing more to it then that: they were members of Blackwolf's posse, and sometimes that overruled their true identities.
It was like selling your soul to the devil for a higher cause, if to be contemplated properly. It wasn't so bad to be a posse member instead of Hollowcry when you weighed the benefits: authority amongst the clan without actually being authority, a head-strong ring-leader that oozed confidence in quantities that were sometimes a little too high (a good ally to have regardless), and a status that immediately allowed you to think better of yourself. For someone like Hollowcry, you could never think too highly of yourself. Being in Blackwolf's posse aided him in convincing himself that he was better than everyone else, but he wasn't so thankful for his friends that he wouldn't turn his back on them all the same. There was a fine difference between being loyal and being included: you were present all the same, but constantly juggling your possibilities. Blackwolf gave Hollowcry a reputation that he craved, a spotlight that he strongly believed belonged upon him. In exchange for this, he received Hollowcry's 'loyalty'.
No, he wasn't a good friend when it was to be considered, but wasn't that why he was meant to be a part of them?
