[smear:f78216]Kindleflare[/smear:f3e4d7]
~~~~~~~~~
A scent wafted around her, intoxicating to the young warrioress. Nothing existed for her, nothing except the pale furred she-cat who lay with her, their tails tangled with one another. Kindleflare could feel her throat rumbling, taken over by a purr as she leaned into the soft fur of the she-cat lying next to her. Warm amber eyes met with the cool blue eyes of Palescreech, nothing but love reflected in either of their gazes. The two were alone in a den, and nothing but silence was there to keep them company. Not that they needed any company other than each other.
Suddenly, Palescreech ducked slightly, aiming for the ginger she-cat's shoulder. She felt a slight pinching sensation, an alarmed gasp escaping her as she twisted to see Palescreech's beautiful eyes glinting with a hidden mischief. The paler furred she-cat's teeth were pricking at Kindleflare's sensitive skin as the more outgoing she-cat nipped at Kindleflare's shoulder. Much to her surprise, Kindleflare didn't feel any discomfort at the action. The only thing she felt was a shiver run the length of her spine, leaving her feeling as though she wanted more. What it was exactly that she wanted more of... She had no idea.
With a slight groan, Kindleflare leaned further into Palescreech's touch, tipping her head back. Soon enough, the lighter furred she-cat allowed their cheeks to brush, muzzles so close to touching. Kindleflare's amber gaze drifted closed as a soft, wet nose brushed a gentle line down her neck, stopping near the beginning of her chest. She could feel their fur brushing, intermingling as their tails wound tighter together, as though both were afraid of losing contact with the others. She was vaguely aware of the way her claws bit into the ground below, scoring lines into the soil as she shifted them closer to her body.
Palescreech's warm breath danced over the fur of her neck as the other she-cat lifted her head once more, guiding it towards Kindleflare's ear. The movement was exaggeratedly slow, as though the bolder she-cat wanted Kindleflare to burst with anticipation. When Palescreech's muzzle reached Kindleflare's ear, the other she-cat paused for a moment, the hesitation suggested that there was something she wanted to say. Th ginger she-cat could feel the warm breath dancing over her ear, cut off occasionally as though words were being whispered, but no matter how hard she strained, she couldn't quite make it out...
"Kindleflare..."
The ginger she-cat started suddenly, her head shooting up violently enough that she felt dizzy for a moment. Blinking in confusion, she glanced around hurriedly, as though half expecting, half hoping to find Palescreech lying there beside her. Her eyes desperately tried to adjust to the darkness, Kindleflare partly aware that it was still the middle of the night. Even though it was so late, her heart was racing in her chest, thumping violently against her ribcage, threatening to jump out of her chest at any moment, keeping her wide awake. She panted slightly, doing her best to keep it muted so as not to wake anyone who might be sleeping.
After a moment of panic, her eyes landed upon the pale furred figure she'd been searching out. However, her heart was hit with a heavy pang when she noticed the tuxedo tom laying beside her, his tail twined with hers. Looking away and focusing on her paws, the ginger tabby was taken by a wave of something akin to disappointment. The whole dream... This whole feeling of crushing disappointment was a mystery to the ginger warrioress. Shifting slightly in her nest, Kindleflare curled herself into a tight ball, laying one paw over her muzzle. Her warm amber eyes were half lidded, darkened by her sadness.
As she pulled her tail closer to her body, she let her gaze travel over the sleeping figures in the warrior's den. She purposefully skipped over the pair of Nightstep and Palescreech, hoping to avoid yet another disappointing pang. When she found another tuxedo tom, slightly larger than her brother, the she-cat found herself wishing she were a kit once more. She wanted to just pad up to her father and curl up in his nest. He would know exactly what to say to chase away her sadness. He could always make her giggle.
And yet... What if he didn't understand? Turning her gaze away, feeling more alone than ever, the ginger and white she-cat shivered slightly. Tucking her tail over the paw that was not occupied, Kindleflare let her ears pin back against her head, begging sleep to take over her, to leave her in a state of bliss. Even if it brought that dream back... At least she had been happy in her dream... No matter how bizarre it might have seemed to her. At least there... There she had been loved by someone, the depth of their emotion reflected in their gaze.
What is wrong with me...
