Description: Aptly named Mudkit for his deep chocolate coat, his body is compact and will be well muscled, the plushness of his fur likely to remain even after it changes from kitteny soft into a coarser, more all-weather coat. A blend of orange and yellow depending on the angle, this tom's eyes will remain blue for only a very short time before the proper color is eventually reached, his body and mind both seeming to mature at a faster rate than that of his siblings. Surprisingly, even though born last and considered an utter surprise after the arrival of his four siblings, Mudkit is likely to be one of the largest out of the litter. Though Dovesong is by no means a tall she-cat, he will inherit the tall stature of his uncle Sunblaze and maternal grandfather, Finchflight.
With rounded, stout features, dark brown nose and velvety texture to his coat, Mudkit bears a close physical resemblance to his paternal-grandfather and the tom behind his name, Mudtalon, who had been surprisingly heroic despite such an unflattering prefix.
Description Summary: A tall, stocky solid chocolate tom with piercing orange-yellow eyes.
Personality: His parents like to say he was born serious because it was the only thing left to be after rebellious Blazekit, hard-headed Gustkit, adventurous Galekit, and happy-go-lucky Pigeonkit. Someone has to maintain some standard of seriousness if anything is ever getting done around here! That someone is Mudkit, a humorless dark brown tom who seemingly lacks the ability to have fun outside of his own comfort zone. He can be accused of being a bit of a buzzkill, the foil to his siblings' desire to break the rules and get themselves into trouble, but he isn't all bad. Really.
Mudkit is surprisingly good at delivering deadpan humor, and what he lacks in moral and emotional flexibility, he makes up for it in being a supportive, loyal, almost nurturing individual somewhere in that somber voice and sharp golden eyes of his. He likes to encourage his siblings to succeed and try new things - just so long as those things are within the boundaries of the warrior code.
The reasoning behind his strict adherence to the warrior code is one with a lot more depth than you might imagine. He isn't just a kit afraid of getting scolded; what comes with this seriousness of his personality is a surprisingly perceptive side that's begun to understand through various experiences that the rules were put in place for a reason. A very logical, methodical tom, without a code to structure his life with, Mudkit would likely flounder around, second-guessing his actions, his siblings' actions and those of the high ranking officials. The rules help him feel grounded, a safety blanket for when things go wrong and his world has suddenly been flipped upside down.
With his mother's pacifistic nature and his father's polar opposite one, Mudkit tends to fall somewhere in the middle, his desire to be a good warrior can sometimes have him jumping the gun and incorrectly reading the signs in a fight, unable to unplug his brain, but he isn't crazy about battle like some of his other family members. Wanting to know as much about the world as is necessary, Mudkit doesn't mind exploring and going off to see new things, he would just prefer if they all waited until they were six moons or older first. Why be in a rush to grow up? They'd get there. For now, a simple game of fox tag would serve well to pass the time.
One particular quirk to note is that Mudkit is a bit of a history buff; having caught wind of this 'epic battle' against StoneClan in which his own Clan participated, Mudkit has been collecting knowledge about that event since he was old enough to comprehend it. Of course, most of the facts are watered down so as not to scar the poor kitten for the rest of his serious life, but he enjoys spending a few hours in the elders' den simply listening, loving those opportunities to get immersed in the days long past.
If he were human, it's quite likely Mudkit would've been a voracious reader all throughout his life.
History: Mudkit's arrival into this world was a surprise for every cat in the nursery that day, the medicine cat handling the kitting having guesstimated Dovesong carrying a maximum of four, not five healthy kittens. Though his appearance was in stark contrast with that of his more grayish siblings (with the exception of Blazekit), there are none who can deny his parentage - anycat just has to look at Windstrike to realize where he's gotten his looks from. With his parents being very very much in love, Mudkit was born into a very stable family setting, with Frostfire, Icewhisker and Snowcloud being his half-siblings from a previous litter of Dovesong's, and there's no real way to tell what his relationship will be like with either of them. If only for the sake of following the code and living up to his desire of being a textbook warrior, Mudkit should at least respect Snowcloud immensely.
Other: Theme songs are either “Redemption” By Redlight King or “Ready, Aim, Fire” By Imagine Dragons.
I also imagine Mudkit to be rather close to his mother, as she is the definition of 'comfort zone' for him, being somewhat overwhelmed to his father's rather zealous personality.
