Description: Kindleflare looks nothing like either of her two litter mates. Whereas her brother, Nightstep, is black and white, and her sister, Brightpaw, is completely white, Kindleflare is mainly dominated by a soft, ginger color. The one thing the three siblings do have in common, however, is the white they all seem to posses. Kindleflare has always resembled her mother Firebird, and her older brother from a previous litter, Flameshadow. Her coat is short, and where it is ginger, it is dominated by darker ginger stripes appearing over her body. The white mainly remains on her stomach, reaching up between her eyes as well as over her muzzle. All four of her paws are white, though the amount of white present on each one varies from paw to paw.
Her facial features can generally be considered as soft, though this could just be due to her young age. Ever since kithood, she seems to have had an innocent appearance about her. This is also aided by the fact she isn't very large. Unlike her brother, who has begun to grow into a fine LightningClan tom, Kindleflare has remained rather small, appearing more dainty than other cats. This is yet another trait she shares in common with her mother, Firebird. It is thought that she won't grow very much more. She might lengthen a little, and maybe gain some height, but not much else. She's still waiting to gain a more mature appearance, rather tired of her young-seeming structure, hoping that she'll at least look like a mature cat, even with her small size.
Other than soft fur and gentle features, Kindleflare is graced with a pair of deep amber eyes. Though they aren't as attention grabbing as her sister's eyes, they can be quite captivating, and tend to burn with the depth of the emotions she is feeling. They are both a blessing and a curse. Should she be able to use them to her advantage, Kindleflare can convince almost anyone of anything she'd like, simply by shifting the glint in her eyes. On the other paw, however, they show just about everything she is feeling if she finds her control over her gaze slipping, which generally happens when she becomes nervous.
Description Summary: A slender ginger and white tabby she-cat with dark amber eyes.
Personality: Kindleflare has never been a very outgoing she-cat. She doesn't shy away from all contact, like some cats have been known to do. in fact, if you give her a chance, and strike up a conversation with her, she'd be more that happy to talk the day away with you. She loves social interaction, she just.... Doesn't have the guts to start many conversations on her own. She doesn't ever really voice her mind, preferring to keep her thoughts to herself. This is probably due to the fact she doesn't want to reveal the fact her interests lay in the paws of she-cats, and not toms.
Deeply troubled by this fact, the ginger she-cat doesn't know how she should feel or if she should tell anyone. In fact, there is a part of her that thinks there is something wrong with her for having these feelings towards those who are the same gender as she is. A little naive, the dark ginger tabby thinks that, is she ignores her feelings, perhaps they will simply disappear, and she can go on and live a life that can be labelled as 'normal', swooning of toms like the rest of the she-cats.
Kindleflare's one weakness is when she falls into the grips of her nerves. Her usually timid behaviour becomes a mess of words, which she probably wouldn't have voiced otherwise. Unless she is extraordinarily calm, and has rehearsed what she is going to say time and time again, Kindleflare finds it incredibly hard to lie, even just a simple white lie. Especially if the particular cat she is trying to lie to happens to be a well known tuxedo tom by the name of Darkcloud.
Yes, Kindleflare has always been a bit of a Daddy's Girl. Even as a warrior, though her brother refers to Darkcloud by his name, or as 'father', this soft she-cat still finds herself calling him such things as 'Daddy'. Though she loves her mother as well, as calls Firebird by the name "Mommy", there is a particular closeness that she feels in her heart towards her father. It's inexplicable, given his occasionally distant attitude. To this she-cat, there is no one greater in this world than her father.
After her parents, Kindleflare feels closest to her two littermates. It's not that she doesn't love her older siblings, there is just something about Flameshadow and Shadewhisker that makes her a little... Embarrassed, perhaps? She feels as though she can't possibly live up to the proud warriors they have become.
As a kit, others her age would often use her to their advantage. Kindleflare's amber eyes were her best weapon, often getting all of the kits out of trouble with a simple, pleading stare. Unless, of course, her father demanded to know the truth from her. Then there was no stopping her. Now, if Kindleflare's eyes win any battles for her, it is completely unintentional. She tries not to use her adorable stare for what she considers 'evil' anymore.
History: Born in a litter of three kits to her parents Firebird and Darkcloud, Kindlekit appeared to be a near clone of her older brother, Flameshadow. With a near identical ginger pelt, even carrying the same white streak that stretched up the bridge of her muzzle, little Kindlekit was a pretty she-kit to behold. Though her sister was of a stunning white, and her brother, of an interesting black and white, Kindekit's coat was a lush, dark red. Of course, none of this would matter much once her sister, Brightkit, opened her up eyes. Though Kindlekit's eyes were a dark amber, Brightkit's were of such a rich amber color, that her ginger sister seemed to dwell in their shadow a little. When their brother opened his eyes, there was a surprise to see blue eyes staring back.
Growing up, the two sisters were often seen playing with the others kits. Their brother, Nightkit, however, always seemed to have wandered off somewhere, staring off into space, lost in his own thoughts. The only time their distant brother would join in is when he was forced by their parents, who claimed that it was healthy for a young kit to engage in play with other kits. Kindlekit and Brightkit were both fairly shy she-kits, but Brightkit seemed even more so than Kindlekit, so the ginger she-kit made it her duty to bring forth the interactions.
It wasn't until she was about four moons old did the others kits realize just how handy Kindlekit's eyes and expressions could be. More than once, they convinced the poor she-kit to play along in their schemes, bailing them out whenever necessary. Of course, they learned to do that only when Darkcloud wasn't around. Kindlekit was useless when that tuxedo warrior was present. Still, mischief ensued, just as it seems to do with every young kit.
By the time Kindlekit and her siblings were ready for apprenticeship, Kindlekit had come to idolize her Daddy, as she called him. She was a little disappointed when her mentor was named as Bluefrost. In truth, young Kindlepaw had been hoping that her father would be her mentor, no matter how unlikely that seemed to be. Still, she didn't voice her complaint out loud, she only turned her amber eyes stare towards her newly named mentor. Life went on following that event. She was respectful of her mentor, taking in everything the warrior said as best as she could. It wasn't until she was about eight moons old did Kindlepaw first notice her differing interests. It was about this time that all the apprentices of the female variety seemed to begin to notice the males. They would chatter in hushed voices to one another, inquiring into how attractive this tom was, or how charming this one was. And no matter how hard she tried, little Kindlepaw couldn't see what they did. She never felt the same... Interest.
In fact, the poor she-cat couldn't get a certain pale furred she-cat by the name of Palepaw off her mind. Of course, her awkward crush wouldn't last very long, for she could see the way the pale she-cat looked at her brother. She knew that Palepaw would never have eyes for anyone else, especially not a she-cat. She sulked for a little bit when she first saw the look in the she-cat's blue eyes, focused solely upon her brother's black and white coat. It had been her first taste of heartbreak. She thought it to be a little pathetic. She barely knew Palepaw after all. Sure, they might have played together as a kit, but it was obvious that the other she-cat was far more interested in the tom she called her brother.
She tried to focus more on her training, she really did. But her troubled mind made it hard for her to focus on the tasks she was assigned. But a few moons after she cleared her mind of Palepaw, a new face caught her interest. A warrior by the name of Swiftflight. Whenever the two interacted, whether it was simply for the warrior to ask her the simplest of questions, Kindlepaw would find herself freezing up, embarrassment taking hold of her. She couldn't meet the other she-cat's gaze, stammering out pathetic replies to whatever she was asked, giving lame excuses as to why she couldn't go on patrol with her. It was bizarre to say the least. Her mentor Bluefrost was often the one to push Kindlepaw to do something she didn't want. The ginger she-cat's mentor was a little hard on Kindlepaw, but she was able to recognize that Bluefrost was only doing this with Kindlepaw's best interests in mind.
Kindlepaw witness her brother gain his warrior name before herself and their sister Brightpaw, but it didn't surprise the she-cat much. Nightstep was extremely advanced compared to her. In the last few moons of her training, she began to notice that her sister, who had been her best friend for so long, was growing more distant. Though this was happening between Brightpaw and everyone in the Clan.
Finally, the day came. Kindlepaw became Kindleflare, a warrior of LightningClan. After her vigil, her first excited words were directed towards her father as she bounded excitedly up to him, exclaiming that she was a warrior. As she settled into warrior life, her preference for she-cats remained her closest guarded secret, known by no one but herself.
Swiftlflight's death hit her particularly hard, which managed to confuse some cats in the Clan. Kindleflare had never seemed particularly close to the other she-cat. How could she feel so devastated by the she-cat's passing is something unknown to anyone in the Clan.
