Description: The source of Creampaw's name is fairly obvious, in that it's the cream tabby fur he takes so much pride in; the coatlength is long and slow to dry, time-consuming to groom but looks best when he really puts forth the effort to make it gleam. The lightest parts of him - underbelly, chin, throat, and 'highlights' around his eyes - appear to be white in some lights and lean more towards cream in the other. The stripes are darkest along his back, flanks and the top of his head, and can look almost brown when soaked. The texture is soft but thick, with a noticeable ruff along his chest and shoulders. Unfortunately, Creampaw's coat tends to hold a lot of water, and he can literally take half a morning to actually dry out completely; his tail is bottlebrush, pawpads pink, nose pink, whiskers long and white.
Though he looks as though he has the body structure for hunting land prey, Creampaw, for all his complaining about getting wet and getting his pelt dirty, is properly suited to fishing. Though his bone structure is a little on the medium side of things, he tends to look bigger than he actually is due to the copious amounts of fur.
Description Summary: A fluffy cream tabby tom with dark golden eyes and unilateral deafness.
Personality: Antagonistic, sarcastic, vain and just a little bit afraid of everything, it's fairly obvious why Creampaw doesn't have very many friends. An experience in his kittenhood days that cost him his hearing in the left ear have stamped the adventurous side of his personality right out of him, leaving only a bitter taste in his mouth at mere mention of doing anything outside of the warrior code or sneaking off. While not particularly motivated to do anything that involves getting his pelt dirty, Creampaw, at least, can be noted for his diligence and the fondness with which he looks after his siblings, the family he belongs to more or less the only cats that truly get a good look at the kind, compassionate creature he is beneath all that...unpleasantness.
Awkward around she-cats, and forever tongue-tied around the one he likes in particular, Creampaw can be a little bit of a prissy tom himself, and compliments to his pelt or eyes are the quickest way to smooth out any frowns or disapproving looks he's shooting at you from across camp. Not particularly big on violence, he's a better fisher than he is a fighter, and though he may complain about taking a million moons for his fur to dry, he is likely to be innovative and quick-pawed. In terms of battle, he tends to stick with a routine and think very little outside the box - he hates being forced out of his comfort zone, after all. Vehemently opposing things that are different (with the exception of his little brother, Icepaw, and he will attempt to shred anyone who speaks ill of the deaf tom with his predictably textbook battle moves), Creampaw is judgmental and won't apologize for it.
Oh you're a half-Clan cat? Then why am I still talking to you?
Oh your parents are loners? Then what are you even doing here?
You got your ceremony delayed because you did something stupid? Tough fish, pal. Should've just stayed in camp.
At the core of his slightly stuffy behavior is a great many fears, almost phobias, even. It is only for the sake of a family member or a very very close friend that he would ever hope to overcome such fears (fear of falling, fear of drowning, fear of Demon, fear of badgers, fear of snakes, fear of dying in his sleep, fear of being left behind, etc, the list goes on). Despite how judgmental, prude and sharptongued he can be sometimes, Creampaw is usually rather forgiving of the mistakes of his closest friends - at least he would be, if he had any.
It is likely though, that while Creampaw may develop into a much less abrasive character once he reaches adulthood (if stuck with the right friends), he won't ever lose that part of his character that makes him a stickler for the warrior code and unforgiving of those that dare breaking it.
History: Creampaw is the son of Eelpebble and Whitewater, the littermate to his sister Peachpaw, and the older brother of Eelpebble's second litter of Ashkit, Rushkit and Icekit. Since becoming an apprentice alongside his sister Peachpaw at the age of 6 moons, Creampaw has been mentored by a socially awkward (but competent) warrior by the name of Goosewing.
An unpleasant incident during his 4th moon of kittenhood has directly resulted in the loss of his hearing in the left ear, something he has had to adjust to his entire apprenticeship so far. The story itself is not really that interesting - and he would rather try to fish with half a foot than talk about it - but it is key to understanding where all of his stuffy rule-abiding comes from.
When he was four moons old, Creamkit had been in that invincibility phase most kits go through, where they think nothing can hurt them, that a figure of authority or simply their own cleverness and bravery would get them out of any situation - no matter how risky - virtually unscathed. Creamkit, along with a small group of two other kittens, sneaked out of the nursery in the middle of Newleaf to go to the camp stream; it was a bit larger than it was normally, given the melted snow having raised the water level enough to make it hazardous to cats their size. Despite this, and despite how cold it was (the sensation of stepping into cold water for the first time is one he wishes he didn't remember quite so vividly), the trio of adventurers dared to take the plunge.
After nearly drowning, his squawks of terror finally heard back at camp and he was fished out of the stream by the deputy, of all cats, Creamkit spent an entire moon in the Medicine Cat's den fighting off a severe ear ache and a chest infection at the same time. The ear ache ended up wreaking permanent damage upon the kit's left ear, resulting in unilateral deafness and the urge to go on any adventures again completely squashed out of him. Ever since the incident, Creampaw can be seen hovering on the banks, hesitant to go into a current stronger than the camp stream, though with the chance to get himself psyched up for it, Creampaw usually completes his tasks or reaches his destination, even if it's just swimming from one side of the river to the other.
Because of his hearing loss, however, Creampaw is able to relate to Icekit perhaps more than Icekit even realizes, and as such he is extremely protective and likely to react on the extreme end of the spectrum should anycat somehow say Icekit is lacking or can never become a warrior. He is close with his sister, Peachpaw, occasionally babysits his younger siblings, is awkward around all she-cats in general (With the exception of Goosewing), the Clan bigwigs, and elders. He has been an apprentice for roughly 4 moons, and hasn't loosened up any, or made very many friends, though with a little coaxing on Peachpaw's part and a little bravery on his, he might just be able to make one or two.
Other: Nope! Not until I think of a theme song for this guy! Any suggestions? lol.
