There was nothing at this point that would keep Crowkit inside for longer than a nap and food; the dark tabby tom-kit pounced into a nearby snowdrift, snarling as he combated invisible enemies, giving his siblings a break by directing his never-ending aggressiveness to the imaginary. With Falconleap keeping an eye on them from nearby, Crowkit was free to run and leap and pounce on as much as he could get his claws into, the tabby bursting from the bank to swat a frosty mossball to and fro. Rawr! I am Crowstrike! Deputy of RainClan!
Grinning to himself, his tabby haunches wriggled, and he sprang forward on sturdy legs to land with an ungraceful 'whumph!' upon the unsuspecting mossball, rolling onto his back as he bit and dug his back claws into it, tossing and turning. As their father liked to point out - Crowkit had the energy of a thousand rushing rivers, and nothing could really hold him back for long. Highly prone to cabin-fever (or den fever, you could say), Crowkit soon grew bored of the mossball, his wide eyes gleaming, any resemblance of their kitten blue hue utterly gone, swallowed by a supernova of lava-orange.
Now to find someone to play with...

Lilypaw had been meaning to visit the nursery since Falconleap had arrived in RainClan. The former StoneClan Deputy’s arrival had been a surprise for everyone, even more so to Lilypaw. The she-cat was in fact her half-brother, Vultureback’s, mate. And what’s more, she had been carrying his kits, which meant that they were her kin. The kits had born about four moons ago and the calico apprentice had been so busy with training, that she hadn’t had the chance to meet the threesome, Heronkit, Hawk-kit and of course, Crowkit. But I can visit them now! she thought gleefully as she made her way to the nursery. Lilypaw loved kits; that was a well known fact in RainClan, but these were actually her kin! When she reached the entrance to the nursery, she tried to calm herself a little. The tortoiseshell-and-white apprentice didn’t want to frighten the kits, or their mother for that matter. Lilypaw hadn’t met Falconleap yet, and she didn’t plan on making a bad first impression on the former deputy by scaring her kits. Once she was a little calmer, she took a final breath before venturing into the den. Lilypaw was immediately overcome by the scent of kits, feathers and mossballs. She smiled, remembering the games she used to play with Tricklepaw when she was just a kit. Almost stepping on the battered remains of a moss ball, she treaded softly; pale green eyes aglow in the dim light. ”Heronkit? Hawk-kit?” she called softly, pale green eyes raking the den for any signs of the kits. She quickly spotted a kit, all alone. Which one? Lilypaw decided to try the name she hadn’t used yet, ”Crowkit?”

The second Crowkit heard an unfamiliar voice nearby, the dark tabby kitten rolled over onto his paws, crouched and began to slink forward, bright orange orbs as wide as they could be with the prospect of a new target to pounce on. Once he spotted the pretty calico she-cat, Crowkit grinned to himself. And the mighty Crowstrike stalks his prey...the fiercest hunter and the most cunning warrior!
Already singing his own battle hymns, the kitten's haunches wriggled and he launched himself out of the brambles straight at Lilypaw, growling his fiercest (which wasn't that fierce at all, given his cute little kitten vocals) as he shouted out;
"RAWR! I am Crowstrike and you are trespassing on RainClan territory! State your name, rogue!"
In actuality, he really did have no idea who this she-cat was, but she smelled very familiar. Kind of like...Dad, but not like Dad at all. Utterly unaware that this lovely she-cat was his aunt, Crowkit fluffed up his fur, highly entranced by his own game as he stalked forward like a cat out of hell. Revealing needle-sharp milk teeth, he lunged for her fluffy tail, intending to chew until she answered his question. I'll show you what a RainClan cat does to trespassers!

"RAWR! I am Crowstrike and you are trespassing on RainClan territory! State your name, rogue!" Lilypaw almost jumped out of her pelt when the small kit leapt onto her. Purring a little at the antics of who she recognised to be Crowkit, Lilypaw gently pushed the dark tabby kitten off and took a step back, pale green eyes filled with warmth for the young kit. ”Hello there,” the calico apprentice mewed softly, dusting herself off, ”That’s no way to treat kin,” she teased. She was pretty sure that young Crowkit was unaware that they were related, through his father, Vultureback, so Lilypaw made quick making it known. It was very difficult, however, not to laugh at the dark tabby kit’s antics, ”I’m Lilypaw,” she explained, trying to stop herself from giggling at Crowkit, but failing rather miserably.

”That’s no way to treat kin."
Crowkit froze, fixing Lilypaw with a quizzical look. "Kin? Are you my sister?" That would make sense, right? She was older than him... But if they'd had a sister all this time besides Heronkit - why hadn't Vultureback and Falconleap said anything? ...or was she his aunt? He knew he had an aunt something, but the name was escaping him at this particular moment. He was still in the mood to play-fight, however, and fluffed out his fur despite the tone of conversation switching to something much more friendly. Tiny needle-like claws unsheathing, Crowkit made as though to pounce on Lilypaw, but missed her by a mouse-length and purposefully landed upon a raggedy looking mossball, biting into the cold earthy clod of moss with razor teeth, shredding it with his hind legs as he rolled to and fro on his back. Die foe!
Orange eyes agleam, when he was satisfied that he had conquered his greatest enemy, Crowkit sat up and started to lick down the fur on his chest, still keeping an eye on Lilypaw.

Lilypaw smiled; pale green eyes aglow, "I'm your aunt," she told the dark tabby kit, "Vultureback is my older brother," she explained, ”You’re Crowkit right?” The calico apprentice watched with amusement as Crowkit leapt onto a rather worn, ragged moss-ball. He had great potential, she noted, he would make a brilliant warrior some day. He’s certainly confident. It seemed like only yesterday she’d been Crowkit, attacking moss-balls and counting down the moons to becoming a warrior. She had only been an apprentice for three moons, but she already could hunt reasonably well and was currently learning battle moves. Lilypaw had always longed for someone to come into the nursery and show her a hunting crouch or a battle move? Perhaps I can teach Crowkit the hunter’s crouch? But looking at Crowkit, he seemed perfectly happy. Perhaps another day. Brushing a scrap of moss off her silky pelt, she watched Crowkit playing with the moss-ball. She grinned, waiting until the tom-kit rolled closer to her before grabbing the moss-ball of him and dashing to the back of the nursery. She smiled triumphantly, sitting tall with the ball of moss tightly clamped between her jaws. The little kit appeared to be alone, she might as well join in with his games.

It was funny to think of Vultureback as having siblings. In the eyes of Vultureback's son, the bulky mottled tom was like a mountain of a tom, singular and unconquerable. Fixing an astonished gaze upon the older feline, Crowkit studied her with new interest, a voice in the back of his mind nagging at him, wondering why she wasn't quite as big as his Dad. For some reason, if Vultureback were to ever have siblings, he would have pictured them of the same size as his father.
Shaking his head to rid it of these thoughts, Crowkit sprang to his paws as Lilypaw, with lightning-fast movements, snatched the discarded mossball and bolted right for the nursery, the tom-kit squeaking and springing after her as though a fire had been lit beneath his paws. "Hey! That's mine! Give it back!" He found himself purring from the interaction, fur afluff with mock indignation at the 'theft', Crowkit nearly tripping over his own overly large paws in his efforts to reach her that much quicker. Barreling into Lilypaw like a dark tabby bullet, Crowkit bit down on her tail, growling playfully as he tried to get through the calico feline's fluff. Too much fur! His little kitten jaws just couldn't get a good grip, so he spat out what was in his mouth and pranced to one side, dropping into a play bow as he grinned. "How are you related to Dad? You're a bit more fun than him - but don't tell him I said that!"
It was nice playing with someone closer to his own age range. Hawk-kit didn't like to roughhouse, and Vultureback always scolded him when he played too roughly with Heronkit. But the other kits in the nursery were far too young for the aggressive little tom-kit, and as such he usually had to hold back on his siblings or just entertain himself. Not anymore, not with this new-found playmate in Lilypaw!

"How are you related to Dad? You're a bit more fun than him - but don't tell him I said that!" Lilypaw grinned, pale green eyes filled with amusement, ”Don’t worry, I won’t tell him,” she whispered, briefly glancing over her shoulder and expecting to see her brother. Sitting up, she casually smoothed down her chest fur but her pale green gaze remained on the young kit. Lilypaw liked Crowkit, perhaps if she was a warrior when he was six moons, she would be able to mentor him? The calico she-cat doubted she’d be a warrior in such a short space of time, but a tiny little part of her said it was possible. Just three more moons till I’m warrior aged, she reminded herself.

"Tell me what?" Rumbled a deep, resonate voice from directly behind Lilypaw. Crowkit's eyes widened and he did his absolute best to appear nonchalant, gaze averted as he groomed his handsome dark tabby fur, tail-tip thumping a random beat against the ground. Vultureback chuckled at the pair of them, giving his sister a playful nudge with his broad dark muzzle, before shifting to the side with silent but heavy steps to sit, thick mottled plume wrapped around his even splotchier legs. "Does your mother know you're outside?" Mewed father to son, and Crowkit let out a snort. "Of course, I asked permission first - besides, it's not like I'm alone. Lilypaw's here too." The younger tom-kit had obviously placed her somewhere between the adult category and the kitten category, opting to rely on either or depending on the situation.
If he needed 'adult supervision' then she could be that cat, but if he needed a playmate or someone to sneak out of camp with, then surely she'd be just as good at that too? He had yet to reveal any plans of exploring RainClan territory to Lilypaw, but he could always do that later - when Vultureback wasn't sitting right in front of him!

Aaah. Typical, Vultureback had to turn up right at that point. Turning round to face her brother, she smiled sweetly, but her pale green gaze remained guilty. It seemed that was the only part of her that she had no control over. Resisting the urge to blurt out what Crowkit had told her, she just meowed calmly, ”It’s nothing,” she met Vultureback’s gaze and suddenly an idea formed in her mind. As subtly as possible she winked at Crowkit and hoped he would understand that she wasn’t actually going to tell the warrior. ”Okay, okay, I’ll tell you!” she meowed, pretending to be guilty, ”Crowkit told me that he put fire ants in the Warriors’ Den and let one of the apprentices take the blame,” her pale green gaze turned to Crowkit, ”Sorry.”
ooc – xD I do love Lilypaw.

CROWKITof RainClan
Crowkit's rising panic over Lilypaw telling his father that he liked her more than him quickly turned into full-blown shock as Lilypaw told such a bold-faced lie! Why you--
Before Vultureback could take his younger half-sister's words too seriously, the not-to-be-outdone dark tabby tom filled his lungs with air, spun around and attempted to outlie his aunt. "Yeah well Lilypaw stuck snails in the elders' ears so now their hearing's even slower!" He bragged, eyes gleaming.
Vultureback suppressed a laugh. Are they playing a lying game? They must've been - Crowkit was rambunctious and a fighter, not a lover, but he didn't exactly attribute the kind of troublemaking finesse that was required to put fire ants in the warriors' den. And as for Lilypaw - snails in the elders' ears? Really?
Rather than tell them off for their silly lying, Vultureback wore a rare grin. "Oh is that all?" Rumbled the normally intimidating mottled tom, his pale snake-green eyes gleaming with an uncharacteristic humor. "I scared Razorfang so much when he was a kit, his jaw turned a different color." Now that was a complete and total lie, but Crowkit was young enough to believe it, especially since the deputy's jaw WAS a different color than the rest of his body - the hazel standing out against Razorfang's otherwise solidly black coat.

The calico apprentice couldn’t resist letting out a giggle at Crowkit’s meow. Of course, Lilypaw had never done such a thing, it seemed to have turned into a ‘who can out-lie the other’ game. Lilypaw was glad that her older brother saw the funny side of it rather than chewing their ears off for lying, ”Oh is that all?"... "I scared Razorfang so much when he was a kit, his jaw turned a different color” Lilypaw grinned, trying to imagine Razorfang, RainClan’s noble and strong deputy, scared out of his pelt. It was certainly something she would love to see. She knew that Vultureback was lying, but Crowkit seemed to have fallen for it. Pale green eyes aglow, the calico apprentice was left wondering why Razorfang’s jaw was a different colour to the rest of his pelt. It was a little strange, the tortoiseshell-and-white she-cat had never seen a cat like that, with a jaw or body part a completely different colour to the rest of its fur. ”Why is Razorfang’s jaw a different colour to the rest of his body” she asked Vultureback, she doubted the warrior would know, but she may as well ask.
