Description:
As a kitten --
A small fuzzy ball of kitten-down and baby blue eyes, Crowkit is only a moon old, and it shows in every aspect of his being. Crowkit wobbles around on tiny dark-tabby-marked limbs, and he appears to almost be wearing a 'dinner jacket', with his back, outer limbs and tail being almost a dark blackish-gray hue and for the most part, solid. His underside, the insides of his legs and his face hold an unmistakable tabby pattern; even at this age, Crowkit's prominent whisker-pads are noticeable, as is the dark tabby "M" on his forehead, and the light brown splash of color on the bridge of his nose. Being so young, his triangular ears appear to be more on either side of his head than perfectly erect and centered at the top, but he'll grow into those as the seasons change. His nose is black, and his fur is medium in length, growing longer in the winter months.
As an apprentice --
This will be a gangly stage for this young RainClan tom; his coat pattern and distinctive, signature features will become more noticeable at this age. As Crowpaw, the sizable paws he walks on will provide the necessary balance his otherwise gangly, bony form will need during crucial hunting and battle-training. The white fur along his throat and chin will be easier to see, as will the distinctive tabby markings, and his eyes will have changed from baby blue to light orange, the color still adjusting. Overall, Crowpaw will have a large frame but made of lean muscle as he sheds his kitten paunch and starts to develop into a warrior. Once he builds up the right amount of muscle mass, Crowpaw will likely look much older and bigger than he actually is.
As a warrior --
Crowblaze will be a warrior with his father's brawn and his mother's good looks, this proud tabby will stand a bit taller than most, and be of a larger bone structure and paw-width than most, but this can't really be counted against him. Not necessarily as large as his father, Crowblaze is still on the bigger side of average, with rich dark tabby stripes, and potent orange eyes that burn as brightly as fire. He will have developed into a skilled hunter and a decent fisher, though he will have his father's coat problem of taking forever to dry. Though a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield for his brute force alone, Crowblaze will truly excel in hunting and fishing.
Crowblaze has aged into arguably one of the largest cats in RainClan, seconded only by his father, Vultureback, his brother Gullswoop and a pawful of senior warriors. A massive black-striped tabby with semi-long fur and an intense dark orange stare, he doesn't seem like the kind of cat you can mess with so easily. His ears are tipped with black tufts, and his tabby facial markings are so distinctive they look as if they've been scratched in with charcoal.
He has brawny features, with a blocky muzzle perfect for killing large fish (or large cats, if necessary), and hefty black tabby paws that make for excellent weapons when needed. His time as a loner has left him skinnier than he's ever been, but he still projects an appearance of strength and solidity. So much walking has made him strong; he is an adept hunter compared to some of the others.
Description Summary: A dark tabby tom with medium-length fur and dark orange eyes.
Personality:
Bullheaded, Reckless, Decisive, Challenging, Compassionate, Sensitive, Protective.
As a kitten, Crowkit is showing signs of being a stubborn little tom with fire in his blood and a combination of his mother's tenacity and his father's iron will. Though it's not too troublesome at this age, when he becomes an apprentice, it's likely his challenging personality, selective hearing and Eye-for-an-Eye philosophy will get him into more trouble than he planned on. Currently, Crowkit gets along well with both of his parents, and wishes to emulate his father's stately, strong-and-silent nature. Though Crowkit is the result of a Cross-Clan romance, he seems purely RainClan, with no desire to go climb trees or purposefully go near rocks. Preferring to swim and stalk what little prey RainClan has on their territory, Crowkit is a 'stick with what you know' kind of fellow.
He isn't necessarily all that willing to try new things, nor is he one to follow trends; he walks his own path, and heck, sometimes he expects others to walk down the same sensible, simplistic path he has chosen for himself, and can grow angry when cats don't seem to be conforming to his ideals. Such is the case with his brother Hawk-kit, who leaves for StoneClan at the age of six moons, finding himself better suited for the rocky terrain rather than the riverbeds.
Finding it hard to forgive the brother who left him behind, Crowkit will hold a grudge out of the hurt he feels over the whole situation, and will likely bulk up and train even harder, just so that when the day comes where RainClan and StoneClan must meet in battle, he will be ready.
Ready to knock some sense back into his foolish little brother.
With Hawk-kit's eventual absence, Crowkit will become even more of a loyalist for RainClan, and won't sit for anything negative said about his Clan or his family. Especially his family. HE may feel animosity towards Hawk-kit for abandoning them, but he's the ONLY ONE who gets to say a bad thing against him, and he will shred anyone who thinks they can say otherwise.
He is also quite protective of his sister, Heronkit and his mother, Falconleap; he knows Heronkit can take care of herself, but he can't help but want to watch out for the remaining sibling he DOES have. As for Falconleap, the fact that she is the former StoneClan deputy has warranted her a lot of animosity and disrespect from both RainClan and StoneClan alike, and Crowkit will gladly go to war for her if it means defending his mother's name.
Overall, Crowkit will be a stubborn, protective and aggressive little tom-kit, but on the flip-side he is loyal, compassionate, and helpful when he really feels like it. Though not as quiet as his father, as he reaches adulthood, he will likely adopt a slight 'silent warrior' behavior that comes with experience and age.
After a simple conversation with him (usually brusque and to the point), it doesn't seem as though Crowblaze has changed at all from the kitten he once was. However, the loss of his mother, his difficult relationship with Timberstar, his brother Hawkfall and his desertion of RainClan shortly after his warrior ceremony have all had a major impact on the tom's life.
He is a little more touchy, a little more cautious than he used to be, though for different reasons. Whereas before he struggled under the weight of his HalfClan heritage and what he viewed as his brother's betrayal, and he was constantly under the impression that the Clan thought he was no better than fish dung, Crowblaze now has the wary demeanor of a loner used to a hard life.
If he relaxes, it's never fully. The tense situation in RainClan right now is not contributing much to his sense of inner peace, though he arguably feels much better now that he can be around his remaining siblings. Still as protective as ever, Crowblaze feels like there's a lot of 'catching up' to do in the lives of Gullswoop and Bitternwing, Crowblaze often going out of his way to speak with them, to get involved in their lives and be the big brother he'd always sworn he would be.
His relationship with Vultureback is not as tense as it was, though they're hardly going to be close.
Still very much bullheaded and temperamental, he seems to provoke a fight more by accident than intention as a normal side effect of his every day demeanor. He isn't all bite and no kindness, however; he's a better Clanmate than he has been in a while. Though not the most social of cats, if the divide in the Clan has done anything, it's allowed him to realize which cats he can trust and which cats he can't. He has a strong sense of loathing and disgust for the Purists, and he will oppose them rejoining RainClan when all is said and done.
Quick to lash out, one of these days his recklessness and his temper are going to get him into serious trouble. Good thing he's gotten used to owning up to his own mistakes.
History:
Crowkit was born the son of Vultureback and Falconleap, the product of a forbidden romance between his mother, the StoneClan deputy, and his father, a proud RainClan warrior. Several harried situations later involving a family enemy, Tumblefur of StoneClan, Falconleap, swollen with Vultureback's kits, had come to live in RainClan. He is the oldest of his two siblings, with Heronkit in the middle and Hawk-kit the youngest of the litter. As the product of a publicized forbidden romance, Crowkit likely has naysayers and enemies even before he's set paw outside of the nursery, but this kitten has no idea. All he knows is that his father is a strong warrior, and his mother is the nicest cat in the whole world; though Heronkit is arguably the most energetic of the litter, Crowkit is the quickest to start playfights, enjoying a good tussle even more than your average kitten.
Vultureback's best friend, Yellowbelly, is considered his uncle, and being around the fun-loving, jokester tom with the great stories about his father as an apprentice has led Crowkit to wish, more than anything, to have Yellowbelly as his future mentor. Having met the infamous Russetpaw of RainClan, Crowkit is quite possibly looking to follow in the troublemaker's pawsteps, which involves quite a lot of scampering off into place he's not wanted and poking his nose into other cats' business...
There were many trials in Crowblaze's life; some he rose to the challenge, and other times, he chose a more immature or less fruitful path.
Shortly before apprenticeship, Hawk-kit chose to join StoneClan, feeling a stronger pull towards their mother's birth Clan than their adoptive one. Crowblaze took that hard, and he entered his apprenticeship under Timberwing as an angry adolescent, furious with the world and with his brother for what he viewed as a betrayal.
Even more upsetting was his former mentor's status as a former NightClan cat, and worse still, she couldn't even teach him to fish properly. Crowblaze arguably made her job harder than it needed to be, but it was difficult for him to see past his own angst and personal troubles than be considerate towards anyone else.
During a hectic season of greencough, Crowpaw became Crowblaze (so named for his temper and his fighting prowess) at the age of 15 moons, but this honor was quickly soured by his mother taking ill. Falconleap did not survive her struggle with the sickness, and Crowblaze, in a fit of torment and fear of watching the rest of his family die, abandoned the Clan to live his life as a loner.
The absence that was meant to only last a moon or two, quickly became the tom's new lifestyle as he adapted to his chosen path as a loner. It was lonely, but the solitude suited him for a while. He would hover near the borders of StoneClan and RainClan, hoping to catch a glimpse of his family out patrolling or fishing.
He has a tense encounter with Hawkfall around 18 moons, and shares the tragic news that Falconleap had died of greencough.
For the next 15 moons after, Crowblaze continues his life as a loner, surviving a very very tough leafbare by heading into the mountains to seek shelter. He met a few cats while there, but no one worth mentioning.
Crowblaze returned to the valley when it warmed back up in newleaf, but it wasn't until he sustained an injury and stumbled upon Ottersplash, RainClan's new medicine cat, that he was convinced to journey back to his old Clan. What turned out to be a temporary stay quickly became permanent. He is happy to have returned, even with the state the Clan is in currently.
