Dark gray clouds hung heavily in the sky. Casting a dreary pall over the scenery. Shadows darkened the forest floor, outlining haphazard piles of leaves that cover the frosty ground. A small white light shines through the thick cloud cover, doing little to lend light to the earth. The white and grey feline slips carefully through the woods. Leaping steadily over patches of piled leaves as she travels. Her sharp blue eyes lift towards the pale dawn sun every few moments. The clouds bode ill for her. The darkness causing her to stand out even more starkly against the ground cover. Her thoughts turn to the upcoming leaf-bare. The heavy clouds are an eerie promise of the harsh weather that is to come. With already thick fur fluffed out in an effort to combat the increasingly cold weather the she-cat wanders across the territory. Her cold blue gaze distant and detached as she moves silently through the maze of undergrowth. With ears perked and long whiskers twitching it is clear she is in search of prey but her ever wandering thoughts are distracting. A mouse practically trips over her paws as she pushes through a tangle of thorns. With long clear claws unsheathed she bats at it but doesn't stop to really give chase. Her fur snags on the barrier of thorns as she pushes her way back into the weak sunlight. With an annoyed flick of her ears she heaves herself free. Leaving a small tuft of white fur behind to hang in the branches. A stiff cold wind buffets the small she-cat and her pace slows. Her destination isn't far off but for some reason she doesn't seem in a hurry to get there. Maggotpaw's black masked face once more turns skyward. Her eyes scanning the heavens as if in search of the answers to all of life's mysteries. Her small size made it easy to slip under the large bush that blocked her way into a shaded clearing. She was supposed to meet Lionstar beneath the Great Maple for a lesson. She wasn't sure why her leader would be willing to train with her but secretly she was very pleased. Her mentor cared little for her training and though she was very clever she couldn't learn everything by herself. With slow steps the she-apprentice pads towards the massive tree. Her tail half lifted, her eyes focused firmly on the ground. She wasn't going to let Lionstar see how excited she was that was certain. As she approaches the tree she briefly debates on lifting her head to even see if the leader was there yet but with the wind in her face and her thoughts so jumbled she didn't bother. If he wasn't there yet she would wait if he was then that was great. It didn't matter to her. The days dismal feel and the overall embarrassment about having to train with her leader made her nervous. She stared grimly at a tattered leaf at her paws as she sat close to the tree.[/style] |
