Description: With a name like Frogpaw, her color scheme is no great surprise; an attractive mixture of browns, cinnamon, black and with a cream chin and underbelly. Her distinctively mottled pelt is a much more poetic depiction of mud puddles that are oh so common in the NightClan marshlands. Despite the unflattering name, Frogpaw actually fared quite well on the physical appearance front, her form feminine and light, though her build was far from 'wispy'. The picture of health, Frogpaw has small, rounded ears, a set of thick muzzle-pads with long white whiskers, her dark facial markings contrasting with the cinnamon base of her fur. Sleek and shiny, she's a bit too pretty for a cat used to plodding through the mud and the marshy undergrowth of NightClan territory, but Frogpaw is by no means afraid of getting dirty. If it weren't for the smell, Frogpaw likes to joke that her marbled pelt would allow her to walk around covered in mud and no one could tell the difference.
Frogpaw's underbelly is the lightest part on her, her tummy in particular hosts a lot of light brown spots and wider bands along her front paws and back legs. Her eyes are honey-golden, and rather rounded with lighter fur around her eyes like highlights, drawing attention to them with ease. The perfectly circular orbs make her seem to be in a perpetual state of innocence, that cunning ferocity absent in this particular NightClanner.
That's anything but the case. How does that saying go? Don't judge a book by it's cover?
Description Summary: A pretty brown marbled-tabby she-cat with golden eyes.
Personality:
Adventurous, witty and admirably cunning, Frogpaw's dull name is the only thing about her that is. Full of life, her vivaciousness might make her come off as careless, only interested in what's fun and exciting, but that's hardly the case. Due to total disdain for the name her parents gave her, Frogpaw is practically bending over backwards to keep herself from fading into the background, wanting to draw attention to herself - the good kind - in her self-conscious hope of reassuring her Clanmates that she is NOT boring or slimy or a mud-dweller, like her namesake.
Self-motivated, generally upbeat, Frogpaw's not at all unpleasant to be around, and not only will she joke and carry a conversation well, but she seems unprejudiced in how she views her Clanmates. You may be the slowest runner or the worst hunter, but Frogpaw's never been one to judge, however, she can come off as a little bit bossy, Frogpaw's style being one that likes to take initiative. A bit of a feminist, Frogpaw has little patience for those that underestimate her abilities simply because she's female and a little smaller than average, and likes to go out of her way to shove her abilities right under the noses of her doubters. She's a bit of a spark really, just waiting for the right kind of kindling to send her into a roaring inferno of righteous indignation and a thirst to prove herself.
Having two older siblings has given Frogpaw a certain competitive edge that might get her into trouble down the road - though she isn't judgmental, that by no means stops her from sizing you up upon first meeting, curious as how another cat would compare to her hunting, fighting, climbing, etc She's a quick leaner, and is already mulling over the possibility of developing her own fighting style, again wanting to be different from every other NightClanner, and any cat that's come before her with the prefix of "Frog".
A little bit of a mischief-maker, Frogpaw isn't at all above telling a few tall-tales to the kits, just for the pleasure of watching their cute little eyes get even wider in surprise as she tells them all about the Screaming-Howler Leeches, or the terrifying Badger-Cat, or the One-Eyed Jackalcrow. Imaginative and with some considerable cheek, Frogpaw loves to entertain and be entertained. The downside to this spunky she-cat, however, is that she has her own opinions involving the Warrior Code, and her faith in StarClan is speculative at best. Her sensitivity about her name makes her a bit quick to anger when insulted, and she isn't always the easiest cat to seek forgiveness from - Frogpaw capable of holding a considerable grudge. Being an apprentice, she's still young with a certain amount of immaturity. She doesn't always understand the decisions of her superiors and doesn't pretend to, however, Frogpaw might blurt out her opinion whether it was asked of her or not, either at a gathering or at a Clan meeting. Frogpaw's also a little bit impatient, sometimes choosing to leap before looking (haha, see what I did there? Frog? Leap? Oh never mind), and feels upset with the consequences even though she knows perfectly aware she charged in without much thought.
If she can work on those few negative aspects of her personality, Frogpaw should grow up into a promising young NightClan warrior.
History: Oh the injustice! The insensitivity! The unfairness!
Frogpaw was born to Birchpelt and Mossflower, two dark-pelted NightClan warriors, and she was the third and youngest of their offspring, born in a litter of one. Frogpaw has an older brother, Larchclaw, and an older sister Willowflame, both of them were ending their apprenticeship just as she was brought into the world. From the beginning, Frogpaw was never aware of her namesake, she didn't realize until she was approximately three moons old when she was able to scamper over to the fresh kill pile without too much supervision that she actually learned what a frog was.
What she saw was a lifeless weird little marsh-dwelling critter with bulgy eyes, a pale stomach and all the intelligence of, well, a frog. The little she-kit was instantly uncomfortable with the name her parents had given, and she'd begged them repeatedly to change it, but Birchpelt and Mossflower felt it was 'cute', and that it was a traditional name for a NightClan warrior, seeing a much brighter future for her than she actually saw in herself.
Larchclaw, her older brother, was no help. He frequently liked to tease that she should be happy with the name of "frog", as their parents had been seriously considering 'swamp' instead. Frogkit, instantly believing him, realized that Frogkit wasn't the worst name in the world, after all she could've been called Bogkit or Swampkit or Oozekit, but she wasn't. She was just Frogkit. Though still unsettled and feeling as though she wouldn't be taken seriously because of her namesake, Frogkit, when she finally became Frogpaw and was apprenticed to Boneshadow, began to change. Not wanting to be shackled down by her name, the newly dubbed Frogpaw became an adventurous, intelligent, witty young she-cat who could give as good as she got, often drawing attention to herself with her made up horror-stories and her potential as a decent warrior. Though incredibly pleased to have Boneshadow as her mentor, the energetic Frogpaw finds the calm, always collected deputy sometimes a bit of a bore when she's looking for entertainment and a humorous conversation.
