[attr="class","words"]
She did have one day recently where she wasn’t just on patrols. A giant group of she-cats in the clan had gathered at an area next to the Misted Lake to just…hang out. Not too many cats really got to do that with all the camp securing and hunting and border marking. And, something she was thankful for, she got to spend time with many of her friends during that outing, including Mousepetal. The two of them hadn’t actually seen each other a whole lot since they came to their new home from the Tribe. After their outing at the lake, she had told Mouse that they needed to hang out soon and go do something together.
A few days later, with a thin fluffy layer of snow on the ground, the two had agreed to meet each other at the Safe Clearing near the mountains. Cricketchirp hadn’t really had a chance to see that area much, and with the snow she thought that maybe the two of them could test out their tracking skills, or explore near the mountains, or maybe even just jump around in the snow. She couldn’t remember the last time she had made a snowcat during Leafbare. The thought brought a smile to her face.
It was still strange moving about during the day, after living most of her life at night, but she had been trying to get used to doing both for the sake of their newer clanmates who hadn’t been raised in Nightclan. She couldn’t deny that feeling speckles of sun on her dark fur felt almost comforting, like another cat was resting their chin on her back.
She had just begun to pass the Ambush Lake when she paused, hearing voices nearby. She started to move on, not wanting to intrude on whoever was talking, but she paused when she recognized a voice. The black and white molly turned and padded towards the lake, pushing through some bushes and rounding some trees. “Mousepetal?”
Just as she came around another pine, she spotted the dark gray and white she-cat she had been seeking out. But she also spotted someone else, another familiar face she hadn’t seen in quite a while. The other cat was a good bit larger than herself, with a thick gray and white coat and pale green eyes that she unfortunately hadn’t met often. There was a feeling of what she could only describe as emptiness peering at him. Her own littermate, and they hadn’t talked in many moons. Even when they were little Badgerscar, or Badgerkit back then, had never been overly fond of her. For the longest time she had assumed it was just a brother thing. He had been much closer to Blackstag, Buckfur, and Hawkkit when they were little, so maybe it was just because she was their little sister? It wasn’t until she got a little bit older and better understood her own clan that she realized what the reason could be. Cricket was friendly, she was shy, she didn’t have an unnecessary hatred towards the other clans. She wasn’t exactly the kind of cat Nightclan had considered ‘exemplary’. If her own brother, or brothers rather since Blackstag had never shown much kindness towards her either, was just like the rest of the clan, then there wasn’t much she could do.
She couldn’t remember the last time she had actually talked to Badgerscar. After so long of him not associating with her and her never really having a chance to try and engage with him, she had just accepted that maybe they just…weren’t compatible.
“Oh…um…I’m…sorry for interrupting…”

t felt like lately all she had really been doing was hunting. With Leafbare arriving to the valley in full swing, the clan was constantly in need of more food, especially with some cats starting to get sick. She was thankful that she hadn’t gotten sick, yet anyway. With the way she had been spending lots of time out in the snow, she wouldn’t be surprised if she did get sick.She did have one day recently where she wasn’t just on patrols.
