'Nice hunting today Petalrain!' Foxtrot purred, curling his red tail with Petalrain's. The she-cat pulled her's away to flick over his nose. The coy flirting between the two of them never went anywhere. An unspoken connection between the two of them. Foxtrot's mate Silverglade appeared from the warrior's den. Calling for the tom-cat. They parted ways. Petalrain alone with her catch to be added to the pile. Nevermind the sharp claw of jealousy that curled up in her chest. What did Silverglade have that Petalrain didn't?

Trying not to care too much, Petalrain found herself a meal from the pile. A meager mouse. While note suited for motherhood, Petalrain did miss being how well taken care of she was when she was a queen. Plump and unable to hunt, apprentices brought her meals. Fat mice or stray hares that ventured too far from their warrens. Not a greedy cat per se, she missed the warmth of the nursery despite it's stifling scents. The heavy milk scent still made her chest tighten and her stomach threaten to roll.

She saw her kits only in passing. She did overhear their training progress from time to time. Hawkfall had been curious why she didn't involve herself more but after a few stern words to the half-clan cat, he never approached the topic again. She remained grateful for that.

Discarding the bones of her meal, Petalrain settled near the warrior den to begin the task of grooming her pelt. A tradition after every good hunting part. She stopped long enough when she sensed movement. Looking over to see a fellow warrior. "Excuse me, Cobrashadow would you like to share tongues?" Her purr soft and inviting.

The tempermental tom shifted within his nest as consciousness returned to him, chasing away the fogginess of sleep with each passing second. He had spent the latter portion of the day resting as he was pulling guard duty that night, silently watching over Stoneclan while keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary, lest it be a possible threat. However, earlier that day he had gone out on a border patrol with his apprentice and a few other clanmates, before he sent Pigeonpaw off to complete his daily chores of helping the elders and queens as needed.

A yawn parted the slightly crooked jaw of the tomcat, sharp fangs glinting before they clacked together due to the uneveness of his muzzle. Fierce green orbs blinked open, black pupils adjusting in size from slits to pools for the appropriate amount of light shimmering into the den. An ear twitched as a new voice broke through the quiet den causing him to lift his head and lazily swing it towards where Petalrain lay comfortably within her own nest, her eyes watching him for some sort of response to her invitation of relaxing companionship.

There was a flicker of amusement that passed through the normally unreadable green orbs of Cobrashadow, that ever present smirk upon his face due to that slightly crooked jaw. The black tipped tail of the spotted warrior twitched back and forth as he thought about it for but a second before pulling himself to his paws. Despite being a fairly aggressive warrior, if there was anything he inherited from that fox-hearted father of his, was the ability to be an enticing gentle-tom.

"I suppose I have some time before the sun goes down." His deep voice rumbled within his chest with the beginning of his reply, pausing near the pretty tabby she-cat. He was well aware of her flirtatious nature, the fact that she mothered three kits from a different tomcat within the clan though they weren't mates. Not that he was one to judge, it wasn't something that was uncommon, after all Cobrashadow's own father sired two litters from separate females.

He himself was probably better off with flings rather than a mate with his rather prickly personality that made it hard for others to get along with him.

"And besides, I couldn't hardly turn you down Petalrain." That gravely voice once again rumbled within his throat, his tone suave with a little flirting underneath it. Her scent grew stronger as the lean tom lowered himself next to the pretty she-cat, their coats brushing as his tail flicked softly against her paws while he got comfortable. As always, that smirk was present upon his face while those green pools flickered with a light flame of coyness while he watched her before dipping his head to let his tongue run through the soft, stripped fur along her back.

Pleased with his reply, Petalrain shifted around slightly. Just enough to make it easier for him to curl up beside her. Once settled, she tucked herself snuggly against him. Laying almost on him. She knew he could take her extra weight. He was a strong warrior after all. A purr filled her chest from his words. It boosted her ego, mae it easy for her to bask in his attention.

Having yet another tom wrapped around her paw lessened the lonely feeling. Allowed her to pretend that it was her choice why she didn't have an official mate. Why settle for one? When you could have a small army of toms ready and able to give her attention.

Smiling as they started to groom each other, Petalrain paid extra attention to his shoulder and neck. "Did you go hunting today?" She picked a safe conversation topic. Petalrain couldn't claim to know much about Cobrashadow. Figured it would be a good of a time as any to start.

The tabby she-cat quickly herself comfortable against his form as they rearranged to groom each other without straining. Though the spotted tomcat had never went out of his way to properly court a molly, he couldn't help but notice the way he enjoyed the soft warmth of Petalrain pressed against his side. Granted, it was only there a moment before the normally grumpy tomcat pushed it to the back of his head. Perhaps he would think on it later, or he would let it get buried under other things he pushed away in an attempt to rid himself of.

His tongue rasped slowly and methodically over the tabby's shoulders, noting both the softness of her form but the sharpness of her warrior physique, as he listened to her purr. While he wasn't a lazy cat, the golden coated warrior couldn't help but feel that familiar drowsy sensation rise under his fur once more as the two Stoneclanners shared tongues and warmth within the comfort of the warriors den.

Giving an ear flicker, Cobrashadow tried to chase away the sleep knowing he couldn't just curl back into his nest later. He had to keep guard throughout the night, which required his full attention even if it was normally quiet.

Flickering his black tipped tail, the spotted Bengal shifted slightly as he readjusted and got comfortable again. Brilliant green pools slowly made their way to glance at Petalrain as she spoke between rasped purrs and strokes of her tongue against his short, thick pelt. "No." He rumbled softly in that gruff voice of his, letting it rumble within his chest as he worked his reply out between grooming licks. "I took Pigeonpaw on patrol and then sent him hunting, I get to guard the camp tonight." Lucky me... He thought almost sarcastically within his head, wishing once more he could curl up again as the tabby she-cat's grooming fueled that desire.

"What about you? Catch anything fun while you were out today?" Cobrashadow wasn't entirely sure she had gone hunting, but the earthy scents on her pelt indicated that she had at least left camp. Though he preferred battle and combat to hunting, he wasn't too terrible at it. He wondered how Petalrain fared when it came to providing fresh prey for the clan. Just as she probably didn't know much about him, as he kept his tempermental tail to himself, the golden spotted tom was aware that he knew just as little about the former queen.

It didn't hurt to change that, not to mention she was pretty easy on the eyes if he would admit in his head.

Petalrain embraced the company of one of the Clan's more pricklier members. Very unlike Dustclaw, Cobrashadow had a certain air of confidence that drew Petalrain's attention. A moth to a flame.

Tucking herself closer to his well-muscled frame, Petalrain allowed herself to doze slightly. Unlike the Bengal tom, Petalrain had no obligations beyond possibly joining a patrol. Not that she was in any hurry to do so. Hunting for the clan was enough for her to consider her duties done.

She could easily admire Cobrashadow's dedication to Pigeonpaw's training. While she had trained her apprentice, Petalrain lacked the desire to do it again. Teaching cats to hunt or fight wasn't a talent. She probably couldn't teach a fish to swim.

"I could keep you company while you guard the camp. I won't stay all night but I can make it less lonely," Her suggestion came with certain upward lit to her voice, a pitch change to reflect her flirtation. While she highly doubted the tom-cat would take her up on the offer, she couldn't help but tease.

The sensation of his nose inhaling the earthy smell on her pelt, made her giggle. The tickle of his breath enough to raise the volume of her purr. "I hunted with Foxtrot earlier, it wasn't much but it is one less hungry belly," Pressing her head against his chin, her smile widened. "Maybe we can go hunting some time, you can show me a few tricks, if you got any,"
