Meadowflight
Meadowflight was having a bad day, a bad moon if she was honest, she had not been the same since her father's death, pushing everyone away, afraid that if she cared too much, placed too much faith then they would be torn from her just like Eagletalon had been. Slowly she had wandered the territory on patrol, going through the motions of being a quiet dutiful warrior while her head swirled with longing and unanswered questions. It was those questions that caused her to bid farewell to the patrol, muttering something about hunting and settle down for a drink at the Sky Springs.
The clear endless pools of blue water reflected her sadness back at her and she glanced up to the sky above, clouds gathering in preparation from the end of the day as darkness began to seep into every crevice around the green-eyed she-cat.
" Daddy, I miss you, Why did you have to go? Why did Hawkstar ask you to go to that Gathering, if you had been home you would be safe, here with us, Instead I am sure that Kestrel blames himself and that isn't fair! Daddy, why do they test us like this? why does Starclan hate us so ? " she blinked back a few tears, tail curling over her paws as she lowered her head in grief.
Meadowflight had adored Eagletalon, everyone knew that so for moons after his death they watched his youngest daughter in fear that she might fall apart and while that had originally been a comfort, knowing that her clanmates cared about her. It had grown tiresome, she was sick of everyone treating her like she was going to fall apart, heck even Snowpaw, Hawkstar's younger daughter looked at her with that look. The look you gave someone who had lost their mind.
None of them understood, not even Herondive, her former mentor, who had been trained by Eagle could understand the pain of losing your idol. Recently she had spent a great deal of time with Smokestorm, her older sister understanding the loss of a father, she had been as close to their mother's former mate and her own father, as Meadow had been to hers.
" IT'S NOT FAIR, BRING HIM BACK NOW STARCLAN, YOU CAN'T TAKE EAGLETALON AWAY, HIS FAMILY STILL NEED HIM, I still need him" she sobbed, not even trying to stop to tears that flowed freely down her cheeks.
