Name: Sedgefoot
Age: 39 moons
Gender: Tom
Clan: StoneClan
Rank: Warrior
Description: Sedgefoot is a lanky tom with a thin frame and long legs. As a kit and early on in his apprenticeship, his tall build made him appear gangly and awkward - he'd often trip over his own front paws. But as he trained, he grew into his legs and became one of the clan's fastest runners.
His big, bright yellowish-orange eyes are always gleaming with curiosity. White whiskers and a dark pink nose both tend to twitch when he's in deep thought. His short fur is mostly brown with tabby markings and patches of white on his chin, chest, and all four paws.
Description Summary: Short-furred tabby tom with a white chest, white paws, and yellow eyes
Personality:
+ Logical
+ Quick-witted
+ Loyal
- Poor Emotional Intelligence
- Nosy
- Know-It-All Attitude
Sedgefoot is what you'd call a left-brain thinker. Highly analytical, he likes to think that he comes off to his clanmates as an intelligent tom - but to most, he's something of a nuisance. While an apprentice might find his tips on posture and hunting techniques helpful, the last thing a warrior approaching senior status wants to here is "you're putting too much weight on your front paws" or "you weren't low enough to the ground".
He means well, he really does. He loves his family more than anything, and is especially protective of his sister, Honeynose. After nearly losing her to a bought of greencough as kits, Sedgefoot does everything in his power to keep her safe - however, he has to realize that his help isn't always necessary, or even wanted. He also has a tendency to be nosy for the sake of "gathering intelligence", and doesn't see his prying as rude.
Despite being a genuinely smart cat, he's severely lacking in emotional intelligence. Social cues are lost on him, and he doesn't pick up on other cats' feelings easily. He lives in a bit of a bubble, which may be why he's nearing his 40th moon without a mate or very many friends. But it doesn't bother him much - as long as he has his sisters and the strength to hunt, he's content.
History:
Sedgefoot was the oldest kit in the litter born to Lotusfur & Thistletail along with his sisters, Cloverkit and Honeykit, and his brother, Kitekit. The kits were born during leaf-fall, and had two or three peaceful moons before greencough swept through camp. In leafbare, Honeykit and Kitekit were desperately sick. Kitekit eventually succumbed to the illness, but Honeykit pulled through.
His parents wouldn't let him leave the nursery to check on his brother and sister - they wouldn't even tell him what was going on. All he could do is sit and worry about them. The memory of Honeykit returning to the nursery without Kitekit is still fresh in his memory. Since that day, he's been very close to his two remaining siblings - Honeykit especially. He hated being left in the dark about their illness, and still carries that fear of the unknown with him all these moons later.
Sedgekit, not Sedgepaw, was apprenticed to a senior warrior, Burdockjaw. A steely grey she-cat, Burdockjaw seldom spoke. Her instructions came mainly in the form of grunts of disapproval and curt nods of approval, but Sedgepaw didn't mind. He actually quite liked that she wasn't chatty like his denmates often were, and she didn't need to say much to teach him how to hunt and fight - she taught by example.
The only downside to having a cat like Burdockjaw as a mentor was that Sedgepaw wasn't forced to do much socializing - he never had to leave his comfort zone. To this day, he has a hard time interacting with his peers without accidentally saying something insulting or boring them to death with clan history, so whenever he feels lonely and his sisters aren't around, he seeks out Burdockjaw's quiet company in the elder's den.
Sedgepaw was named Sedgefoot for his swiftness. Since becoming a warrior alongside his sisters, now Cloverspring and Honeynose, his parents Lotusfur & Thistletail have both joined StarClan. Now 39 moons old, it doesn't seem likely that Sedgefoot is going to change his ways or try to make meaningful connections with his clanmates anytime soon - will this bright warrior ever get a clue?
