Name: Darkkit | Darkpaw | Darkdove
Age: 85 moons
Gender: She-cat
Clan: LightningClan
Rank: Senior Warrior
Picture:
Description Summary: An average-sized black and white she-cat with green eyes and a frail body.
Personality: Darkdove has always been a very caring and loving she-cat to all her clanmates. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and she has full loyalty for her clan, caring for every single member no matter their past or their personality. At one point she was actually a playful cat who enjoyed wrestling with the younger cats for fighting and hunting practice. But now, because of her tendency to get sick easily and her old age, she finds that she can't do those things anymore.
History: Darkdove was born in Lightning clan to a single mother and two siblings. She was a playful kit when she was young and in the nursery and was always very curious about her surroundings. She was one of those kits that tried to sneak out anytime the Queens would look away, but she was often caught before she could. She made many friends and was known for her very bubbly and cheerful personality, even when she got yelled at. There was only once when she felt the anger of another cat and succumbed to it. She was just turning 5 moons old and was, as usual, trying to sneak out of the nursery. She succeeded. Not knowing what to do, she turned the corner and trotted to the edge of the hill that Lightningclan had as their camp. Looking down over it, it looked like she was at the top of the mountain, despite the hill not being very tall. Wanting to have fun, she jumped and found herself tumbling down the hill, a black and white ball of fur and laughter as she rolled. When she reached the bottom she expected to just keep rolling into the meadow. But instead she hit a very small bump at the base of the hill and found herself momentarily in the air. When she landed, she tumbled right into another cat, knocking them and herself over. When she looked, a young tom with a pure black coat and bright yellow eyes looked back at her. She had never met this tom before. He didn't look like an adult, so maybe he was an Apprentice? She heard a voice call out both her name and a name she didn't know. Blackpaw. Both of the cats looked up at the top of the hill where Dark's mother was standing, looking down the hill with a concerned face. As Darkkit looked back at the tom, Blackpaw, she saw his face go from confused to slightly amused. He offered her a kind smile, but didn't speak. She felt a pair of teeth grab onto her scruff, lifting her up off the ground. As her mother turned to go back up the hill, a look of slight sadness went across Blackpaw's face.
Finally, the time had come. Darkkit sat below the Hill Top, looking up at the Leader with a giant smile and bright and eager eyes. She was 6 moons old. It was her time. She would get to leave the nursery and become an Apprentice! Her name was called and she stepped forward. She was renamed to Darkpaw and was given to a small she-cat named Smallfoot as a mentor. That night, as she said goodnight to her mother, she went to the Apprentices den and got to the entrance at the same time as another cat. When she looked, it was Blackpaw. The two locked eyes, staring at each other for a moment. That single minute was the beginning of a friendship that would last a lifetime.
Darkpaw and Blackpaw trained together all the time, going out into the territory with their mentors, sharing prey. They were best friends. They stayed this way up until a certain meeting was called. Blackpaw watched from the sidelines as Blackpaw's name was called by the Leader. She watched him step forward and accept his new name of Blackear. She saw the pride on his face. He was a Warrior now. She wanted to run up and congratulate him, but he was surrounded by other cats. She watched in sadness as all of his other best friends and siblings and his mentor made a tight circle around him, all cheering his name. As the meeting ended, Smallfoot pulled Darkpaw away to do some training. From that point forward, Darkpaw didn't see Blackear much, for she was always training and he was always out hunting or patrolling the border with his friends.
Two moons later, Darkpaw found herself in that same position. As her name was called, she stepped forward and took on her new name: Darkdove. Her siblings, her mother, her other friends, they all encircled her, yelling her name. As the meeting subsided and as she prepared herself for her night vigil, she heard a voice. She turned to find Blackear standing behind her. He had a smile on his face, but he seemed kinda sad. He told her congratulations and apologized for not talking to her or seeing her very often. She forgave him for it. They were best friends after all! Right...? After that day, Darkdove began to notice something. Blackear was often seeing hanging out with two cats in particular. Another tom and a pretty tabby she-cat with an orange and white pelt. Darkdove hadn't met either of them, but if she had heard correctly, the she-cat was named Snakefang. It was extremely obvious that Snake had feelings for Black. She made it so clear to everyone that some cats got tired of it. Darkdove thought she wouldn't care, but the more she saw them together, she found herself growing a little jealous. But she wasn't the kind of cat to show that.
One day, Blackear approached her by himself. It was in the early morning, so she wasn't even awake yet when he got her up. He said he wanted to spend the whole day with her like they used to when they were Apprentices. That day, both of them realized what they were to each other. They had multiple deep conversations, had a lot of fun out in the territory, and even confessed that they loved each other. That night the two of them didn't go back to camp, but rather had a...*ahem* private moment...out in the territory. They had agreed to be mates that night, but they didn't announce it yet. As a matter of fact, the days went on just as they had before. Blackear would go out hunting with the other tom and Snakefang while Darkdove would spend time patrolling with her siblings and mother. She started to feel odd, though. She just always had this weird feeling in her stomach, almost like she would have butterflies and twisting at the same time. When she asked the Medicine Cat, she found out that she was expecting. Right after she found out, she pulled Blackear aside and told him the news. They decided that this was the perfect time. When many of their clanmates were out and about in camp, Blackear got their attention and announced that he and Darkdove were mates and were going to be having kits.
When the kits were born, Darkdove was upset at the sight of a still-born kit, but she was still overjoyed. Two of the kits looked a lot like herself: black and white pelts. The last kit looked like an exact replica of Blackear, only as a kit, which she decided to name Batkit. Darkdove and Blackear watched their kits grow and develop into young Apprentices. But they were both concerned when Snakefang was assigned as Batpaw's mentor. After their announcement of being mates and expecting, Snakefang was less than happy about it. She was always glaring the two of them down and avoiding her duties if it meant being near either of them. They were worried, but there was nothing they could do about it. They just had to hope that Snakefang would truly mentor their child as a proper Warrior. At first they thought that she was, for Batpaw was becoming more and more talented each day. But their fears came true when one day, while hunting, they heard a painful yowl with a familiar voice ring out through the territory. When they got to the scene, they saw Snakefang pinning Batpaw down to the ground, claws digging into her chest and fangs bared like a dog, trying to reach her neck. Blackear rushed forward and tackled the she-cat to the ground, followed by the clan Deputy who had been hunting with them. The two of them attacked Snakefang and fought with her for what seemed like hours, claws and fangs flying both directions. Finally, nearly to the point where she couldn't stand, Snakefang turned and bolted for it, body torn and a part of both ears missing.
After that day, things calmed down. Blackear was assigned as Batpaw's new mentor. The three Apprentices became Warriors. Life was good. But things changed when one day Blackear didn't return from his patrol. The three cats he had been patrolling with, however, did return. They said that there had been a large fox at the edge of the territory. It nearly killed one of them, but Blackear jumped in the way. He lost his life to that fox, breaking Darkdove's heart. Batear and her other two kits comforted her, but there was a hole in her heart. Not too long after that, she found herself sick with Whitecough. It wasn't too major, nor did it develop into Greencough, but she was getting a little bit older at this point, so it hurt her more than it would have if she was younger. She recovered from it, but she would get colds more often afterwards.
Since then, not much has happened. The only thing really worth mentioning is that despite her being a Senior Warrior, she enjoys sleeping in the Elder's den with the Elder's, for she knows that soon she will end up there.
