Description: magpiepaw is a small, short haired tom. he has a sturdy, muscular physique, a bouncy gait, and stands at roughly seven inches. he has black and white soft, silky fur that seems to 'sparkle' in the light when he moves (at least he thinks so) and makes sure to take extra good care of it. he has a white blaze on his face, a white chest, underbelly, tail tip, and white socks. part of the white on his muzzle is covered by a black splotch along with the heels on his hind legs. he has large, goofy looking ears with an angular face and a long tail that contrasts his shorter legs, making him look a bit silly. magpiepaw is often seen with a happy expression, trotting around in an attempt to start a conversation every .29 seconds.
Description Summary: a small, short haired, black and white tom with light green eyes.
Personality:
slap happy | magpiepaw is extremely slap happy. you can say something that’s not even that funny and he’ll be all over it, practically rolling on the ground laughing. even if it’s a week later, if he sees you, he’ll most likely say, “hey, remember that thing from a week ago?” and walk away with a large, goofy grin and laugh about it to himself. then he’ll proceed to tell everyone about that hilarious thing that happened a week ago and laugh even harder at their confused expressions. “you had to be there,” he’ll say, out of breath from laughing so hard, “it’s not as funny when i retell it.”
affectionate | magpiepaw is affectionate. he’s very warm and loving and is 100% up for a cuddle 100% of the time. he’s good at cuddling. he’s also a good shoulder to lean on, and no, not because he’s short. he’s not. if you’re upset, you can always come to magpiepaw to vent. he may not be the best at conversation or helping you with his words, but he’s there all the way for emotional support. he will listen to you, hang on every word you say, and be as respectful as possible. he’ll try to show you he’s a good listener by sitting still because he’s normally a busy body.
busy | magpiepaw is busy. he’s always trying to do a bunch at once and seems to almost always be in a hurry. this may seem like a strange way to live, but he’s actually quite fond of the system he’s created for himself. he’s a pretty much a professional multitasker at this point.
dreamer | magpiepaw could be classified as a “dreamer” (depending on that cat’s point of view). if you wanted to put it simpler, you could say that he’s optimistic, but he’s at the optimistic point where it’s impossible someone could be that optimistic. he’s always in his own fantasies and when he’s not doing his chores, you can find him daydreaming outside the warrior’s den or near the fresh-kill pile.
overconfident | confidence is normally considered a good thing… this isn’t exactly true for magpiepaw. he’s, well, to put it nicely, overconfident. he’s pretty self-assured. you could say he’s “too big for his britches.” he’s always got a positive attitude and once he’s set on something, he won’t budge from the idea, making him quite stubborn in that regard. most of the time, he’s so convinced with his idea of something and he’s so confident in his way of thinking that he’ll try to persuade as many cats as possible (without meaning to, of course; it just happens to the poor boy, bless his soul) that his idea is the best.
workaholic | magpiepaw is most definitely a workaholic. it might seem like a good thing in some situations, but he could also be seen pushing himself too hard. he does love to work, but it may sometimes not be necessary for him to do anything at that particular moment.
History: it’s quite a funny story, actually. as ‘paws, magpiepaw’s parents, berrynose and bearfang, used to absolutely despise each other. they were always in constant competition. out of all of the things that they’ve said to each other in their entire lives, “no, i’m better than you!” was probably said the most. as the two got older, though, the fights and disagreements that they had became more playful and, well, yucky lovey-dovey! when other cats would see berrynose and bearfang together, they’d roll their eyes and think or perhaps say something like, “i knew it” or “it was obvious from the beginning.” if either of the two young cats heard it they’d share a glance and a laugh. magpiepaw’s parents often surprised each other with how much they loved in general and how much they loved each other. neither of them really ever thought too long about the real reason they disliked each other so much in their younger days. once they got to know each other, their ideas of each other were practically polar opposites of who they really were. one warm evening in early greenleaf, berrynose and bearfang were having a normal conversation when one of them -- they argue about who said it to this day -- suggested the idea of starting a family.
“chickadeekit, magpiekit, and warblerkit…” magpiepaw and his siblings, chickadeekit and warblerkit, were born about mid greenleaf. they were three small black and white bundles. their mother and father, bearfang and berrynose, thought it would be clever to name them off of what their pelts reminded them of. for example, warblerkit’s pelt had horizontal black stripes from her head to her tail on a snowy white pelt, similar to a black-and-white warbler’s feathers. chickadeekit had a black mask and chin with a white stripe going across his face. “almost like a badger,” berrynose had commented. bearfang argued that badgers have white heads with black stripes and chickadeekit has a black head with white stripes. also, “it wouldn’t make sense to have two bird children and then a badger” (an exact quote from bearfang). it only took a bit of convincing before berrynose rolled his eyes and finally agreed that badgers did indeed have white heads with black stripes.
once the three mischievous kits were allowed out of the nursery, boy did they cause trouble. they were always attempting to escape the camp; they enjoyed using older cats’ nests as “territories” and “camps”; and causing trouble seemed to be their overall favorite activity. after “chickadeestar’s,” “warblerstar’s,” and “magpiestar’s” visits, the dens were, well, to put it lightly, in… terrible condition. when the troublesome kits were questioned, they claimed there was a raging battle between three clans and it was definitely not them. definitely not them.
as magpiepaw and his siblings grew older, they slowly began to drift apart and go their own different paths. his ceremony was the best thing ever, though. he bounded up to sit next to his brother and sister, pride filling his chest as his name was called. and then he was assigned his mentor. he couldn’t believe it. (insert mentor’s name here)! boooooring! to be fair, he didn’t exactly know all the warriors that well since he had been a kit for, well, all of his life up to that point, but he could just tell by looking at warblerpaw’s and chickadeepaw’s mentors that they were really cool. the real kind of cool, not just ‘cool’ to make you feel better kind of cool. he was determined to help (insert mentor’s name here) become even more cool. they would be cooler than chickadeepaw and warblerpaw and their mentors combined.
