Name: Yewkit | Yewpaw
Age: 9 moons
Gender: she-cat
Clan: TreeClan
Rank: Apprentice
Picture:
Description:
Yewpaw's soft exterior is in sharp contrast to the dark wit of her mind. Black is the predominant color of her pelt, though her paw tips and chest are white. As she grew, a white slip of fur appeared between her eyes. She keeps her fur meticulously short and clean. When not doing anything, she's probably grooming herself to maintain a smooth appearance. Though round-ish in shape, she is stretched out from nose to tail, gliding effortlessly across the ground. She is far longer than most other cats, her tail adding to the illusion. Her hind legs are her most powerful feature (besides her quick tongue) and will give her great leaping skills.
Description Summary: A short-haired, long-legged black and white she-cat with yellow eyes.
Personality:
Yewpaw has long been a pessimist. It's long been a part of her nature, seemingly wired into her brain. She wasn't one of the happy, carefree kits for sure. Instead, she soured at everything and everyone in her path, grumping about like one of the elders stuck in their den. She is quick to see the bad in everything, which drags her down in life.
She's practically destined to become a cynical warrior, though her mentor and friends have a chance to snap her out of it.
She isn't one for talking either. With her siblings, sure, but otherwise she keeps to herself. Yewpaw is content to listen to others babble on, mainly because what they say is so inane that she doesn't even want to respond. In the cases that she does, she tears down with a sharp phrase beyond her youthful innocence. The time spend silent is for her to evaluate what is said and apply it to her life - how will it benefit Yewpaw alone, and not others around her?
This internal focus gives way to ruthlessness in the face of others. Yewpaw isn't afraid to play or fight dirty to get what she wants out of life. No thing and no one will stand in her way. She has a small radar for assistance when it comes from her siblings - they're blood, so she would keep a small eye on them. Otherwise, each cat that crosses her path is a tool for her to get what she wants - to secure her own future.
History:
Yewpaw was first introduced to her mother's warm body, but next came her siblings - Adderpaw and Hemlockpaw. They were the warm, mewling, squirming bodies behind her and beside her in the nursery. First, they were things that stole her food, but slowly, they became more important cats in her life than the other bodies and kits she grew up with. She was not ignorant of the side-eyes and looks tossed her family's way. Her maternal grandfather was a murdered - infamous in his own right. Despite his distance from the Clan, his blood still bore their own marker of his sin. Yewpaw felt its weight daily.
Apprenticeship offered the chance for Yewpaw to learn something more than kitten hisses and games. She could finally prove something about herself and her family. She could get out of that shadow. Finchcloud, the poor warrior, found early on that her tongue was sharper than her claws. Yewpaw, of course, never realized what kind of apprentice she would be, or that she would be on other cats' radars. Her desire to prove herself has created a drive that is just as worrisome as her grandfather's old legacy. Though young, her future seems to be set on a similar path.
