FEELS EASIER TO JUST SWIM DOWN

Pulling herself out of her nest and giving her fur a quick shake. Firestar exited her den and fully extended each limb to help stretch out and ease away the striffness of sleeping so tightly. The cool nights had forced her to curl up to an almost uncomfortable level. She thought of finding herself a few feathers to line her nest. Extra warmth would benefit the aged leader greatly.

Heading for the fresh-kill pile in search of a bird, Firestar paused at the scent of her youngest kits. Tigerpaw's scent was fresher the tom-cat likely just returning from the medicine cat meeting. There was a brief moment Firestar considered seeking out her timid son and ask him how is training was going. She could also ask Kindleflare outright but being his mother, she rather talk to him directly. However, she decided against it. He'd probably be tired from the trip and Firestar was not one to disturb a medicine cat's sleep for anything less than an emergency.

The same couldn't be said for Lynxpaw. Redscar was in charge of patrols and of her daughter's training. She could do with a little early rousing. Changing her course from the fresh-kill and toward the apprentice den. She poked her head inside and called for her daughter.
