Hawkstar may your dreams be larger than mountains Life had not been kind this last season. StoneClan's ranks had been affected since the start of Greenleaf, losing more of its members than he liked to think about. And some had been far too young. Pale amber eyes drifted to the nursery, where he knew Mistcloud to reside. He could still hear her keening wails as Smokestorm informed her of her son, Ashpaw's, demise. Since then, patrol requirements had been tightened, and patrol schedules had been increased, to try and keep the fox threat at bay. And yet, he still couldn't help but feel as though he wasn't doing enough.
Slowly, the aging StoneClan figurehead picked his way down the Rock Pile, until he stood on even ground with the rest of his Clan. As he lowered himself to a sit near the base of the familiar spattering of stones, Hawkstar wasn't certain what compelled him to look up. Yet as he did, pale gaze searching the familiar dark expanse scattered with innumerable shining stars, he saw movement. To begin, it was a sole streak across the sky, a star sprinting through the darkness in the blink of an eye. He might have thought it a trick of the mind, had it not been for the second star.
Before long, the frequency increased, with a star dancing through the blackness at every breath. A memory stirred in the back of his mind, prompting the sand colored tom to clear his throat and call out to the Clan around him. "Cats of StoneClan." His voice was strong, loud enough to carry to those awake, but not so loud as to wake those who'd already drifted into the realm of sleep. Standing not atop the Rock Pile, but instead at its base, it was clear his message tonight was not an important announcement, but something else.
"An old friend once told me the sky held more wonder than you could possibly imagine. And once, she shared with me an incredible secret." A fond smile twitched at his muzzle as his mind conjured up images of a white and cream she-cat, with pale yellow eyes and a joyous respect for life. His heart seized momentarily, remembering the feeling of loss that had been present far too many times this past moon, but he pushed through it. She would not wish for him to lament her passing. She would want each and every one of them to see life in the same, brilliant light as she had.
"She revealed to me that, once every pawful of moons, Silverpelt comes alive with running stars." His gaze flicked up as he spoke, and as if responding to his words, a brilliant white shape darted across the sky, a claw-scratch of white light following in its wake as it fell. "She told me..." He started, swallowing passed a lump in his throat. "She told me that these flickering and dancing stars represent our ancestors playing freely in StarClan. Chasing prey, racing one another, racing down from the sky in a single heartbeat to glimpse our world again."
Closing his eyes for a moment, the big tom steadied himself. "To Fallenleaf, the running stars were proof that our ancestors, our loved ones, watch over us and guide us in difficult times. She believed that, tonight, they are standing amongst us, having raced down from StarClan above to set paw upon our lands once more. And I am inclined to believe that." A warm strength rushed through him then, and Hawkstar could almost feel Fallenleaf standing at his side. Opening his pale amber gaze to view the flickering lights high above, the StoneClan leader finished.
"So, as you gaze upon the sky tonight, stir up the happy memories. Remember them not as they died, but as they lived. For tonight, they stand with you once more. Honor their memory. Rejoice in how they lived. And remember that, without them, we would not be who we are today. We are StoneClan, every one of us." leader of stoneclan and may you have the courage to scale their summits background image | harley king | Fawn Phoenix | table by phoenix

Anyone is welcome to join in! You can speak with Hawkstar, or organize with someone else to have an interaction between your characters. If you believe the interaction may be longer than a couple posts, feel free to start your own thread as a subset of this one. Just indicate as such in the thread!
Fawn and Nix, if you still want to do the 3H thread, could one of you start it? Thanks <3

Snowkit The little she cat arose from her rest just as the first words of her father's speech reached her ears and the young cat ventured out to see what Hawkstar was calling the clan to see, it was important surely, as all his announcements usually were but something felt different, as the figurehead did not ascend to the top of the Rock Pile but rather stood amung the clanmembers that had gathered around it's base. Wide blue eyes flickered upwards at her father's words and she get out a small smile. Frozenrain had taught her that the spirit of her ancestors were among those in the stars, hence their name. Snowkit paused to see a star shoot past in it's race to beat another star. Rising carefully to her paws, Snowkit weaved her way through her clanmates until she stood at her father's side. Nudging the sandy colored tom until he let her sit between his front paws, she spoke to her father in the most respectful tone she had "Dad, Mum says that all our ancestors are up there, that Starclan were the ones that made you leader and gave you all your lives, who would guide me if I was to become leader?" she asked, bright blue eyes, so similar to her mother's but darker in tone gazed up but this time at her father's face rather than the sky. Snowkit was a curious one, ever since she had been a kit she had longed to be a apprentice, a warrior and her ambition and reputation as the leader's youngest daughter left her with big pawprints to follow in, she was going to be leader, be the great Snowstar that her mother could be proud of. Most of all Snowkit just wanted a day were she was not sick, her parents didn't huddle late at night, talking about her poor health and lack of growth. "There is nothing wrong with being small, it's like being hit in the guts,I just have to learn to hit back harder" She told herself every night before she closed her eyes to sleep.
Snowkit did nothing but try, attempting to keep up with her sister and even the other young cats her age, gave her a sense of purpose, along with those lessons about the warrior code and the clan in general, In which Snowkit would make any cat willing to practice with her. She was still small, even now, but her coat was growing sleek and streamlined, It was clear she would always be small but that did not mean she would ever let it hold her back in life. It was enough, it had to be, for now but for Snow, nothing would ever satisfy her need to grow, to be the best at everything. She was a force of nature just as delicate but unpredictable as her namesake.

Morningsun.
Morningsun heard Hawkstar's call, and made her way over so to hear him with what he had to say. She lowered her head again in thought for Ashpaw. She thought of Ashpaw while the apprentice lived. As well as her other dead clan-mates while they lived. She was deep in thought as she thought of how the dead clan-mates lived when they where alive.
She noticed Snowkit, and the kit gave her some hope for her clan-mates. She admired Snowkit, whenever she watched the youngest of Hawkstar's daughters. Though she was little growth as some, Morningsun saw Snowkit's lively spirit and for that, the warrior admired the kit for her lively spirit dispite what great up hill battle the kit had to go in the kits life.

Hawkstar may your dreams be larger than mountains A gentle nudge against his leg had his pale amber eye dropping to the small figure of his youngest daughter, Snowkit. Upon seeing her, a fond smile immediately spread over his features, and he shifted his weight to lift a paw, so she could slip under him. Knowing just what she would try and do, the big tom readjusted himself, forepaws next to one another with just enough room between him forelegs for Snowkit to squeeze through. Once she was safely seated, with her forepaws perched atop his much larger ones, the young she-cat spoke quietly, though the big tom didn't seem to mind. She had his undivided attention.
Although Snowkit began talking about the stars, her brilliant blue eyes cast up toward the raining lights above, the StoneClan figurehead never shifted his gaze from her. Why would he, when the brightest star of all shone right between his paws? She was quick to meet his gaze, and he purred lowly. The sound rumbled from his chest, one she would no doubt be familiar with since it was once a sound used to lull his kits to sleep at night, and he bent to rasp his tongue over her ear.
"Mom is absolutely right." He began, recalling the first time he set paw in StarClan. "They are all around us, Snowkit. In the stars we see in the sky, to the sense of pride in our hearts when we see our Clan, our family. They are those who came before us, those who built everything we may take for granted now. Dens, hunting spaces, the code by which we live... Anything you could imagine, StarClan brought us." The big tom paused in his speech, finally tearing his eyes away from his beautiful daughter, and used his tail to gently guide her gaze up too.
At that moment, several flickering lights darted through the sky, streaking white lines over the dark expanse. It was peaceful, breathtaking. And he couldn't imagine sharing the sights in better company than little Snowkit. "They see you already, Snowkit. And should you walk in the pawsteps of leadership, they will stand beside you, always." With a soft smile, the sandy colored tom let his gaze drift back to Snowkit. "Although all of StarClan will help you, you will likely have one individual appear more often. They will be your true guide. And if you close your eyes, close your eyes and breathe deeply..."
He was silent a moment as he did just that, letting his breath rush into his lungs, holding it briefly before releasing and opening his warm gaze once more. "You will feel your guide next to you, walking paw for paw with you." As he fell silent once more, he couldn't help but smile for the air shifted on his left flank. It was the slightest of breezes, one concentrated to the areas at or below his shoulder. And if he squinted, he swore he could almost see the star-flecked black pelt and vibrant green eyes of Viperpaw.

Snowkit The young pure white she-cat nodded up at her father and how the big tom radiated strength and wisdom and for a moment, allowed herself to be caught up in the marvel of her parents. Frozenrain was kind and wise and Hawkstar was strong and brave, no one could ever doubt how much Snowkit truly loved her parents. " Who is your true guide Dad? Mum mentioned you have nine lives as part of being a leader. If those in Starclan do watch over us all, Does that mean that I am never going to be alone?" Snowkit glanced at her father with sad eyes, after all, she was sure he knew of her fear of being alone. It was paralyzing and she hated it, feared it even. It wasn't something that stemmed from her being left alone, in fact, her parents were more dutiful than most with the balancing scales they called her health. It was a fear, a phobia that came for her in her dreams, she was left alone, with no one there to come to her aid or for her to love. Every cat had one fear and Snowkit's was ending up alone. Sure she had her clanmates and siblings and parents now. However she was not blind to reality, her parents were older cats and as such Mum and Dad were not always going to be there and that thought terrified her. She could not speak for Minkpaw, her sister had always had her own way of doing things that was different from Snowkit's and while there was no doubt the blue-eyed white she-cat adored her sister, she did not understand her.

Hawkstar may your dreams be larger than mountains He smiled down at her, dipping his head so he could press his nose to her ear. Silently, he found himself thanking StarClan for each and every one of his kits. Although each had their own quirks and vices, they were all his and they were all perfect. A thoughtful rumble thrummed to life in his chest as he considered her questions. Hawkstar wasn't certain he'd ever shared with this youngest brood the memory of his siblings. He had never meant to keep them sheltered from death, and yet... With Snowkit's rocky start to life and poor health... His brother's story had never seemed the most appropriate to share.
With a soft breath, he returned his gaze to the stars. "My true guide is my brother, Viperpaw." He told her honestly, a fond yet saddened smile twitching the corner of his maw. "Your older brother, Vipertail, was named in honour of my brother. You wouldn't believe how similar they looked as kits." He purred at the thought, remembering when his only son had been no bigger than Snowkit was now. Pale amber eyes closed slowly, the big tom contenting himself with the warm and curious life between his paws and the crispness of the night air.
"You are not alone, Snowkit, and you will never be alone. StoneClan lives within you. So long as you remember that, so long as you remember who you are, you will never be alone. Not truly." For a moment, his mind flickered to a time where he would no longer walk this earth. How had such somber thoughts weaselled their way into this conversation, he mused to himself. And yet... He was not saddened by these thoughts. He had lived a full life. He had been blessed in equal part to his curses. Hawkstar was, for all intents and purposes, content.
But he thanked StarClan daily for every morning he woke up to experience another day surrounded by friends and family. He would pass on happily if only he could see the day his youngest litter grew into themselves. Herondive had slowly begun returning to them, reintegrating herself into the here and now, not whatever dark and strange place she'd drifted to in the last few moons. And Vipertail... Vipertail had found his place. Although Hawkstar wasn't certain his son had figured it out yet, the sandy brown tom could see the way Vipertail and Honeynose looked at one another.
Perhaps he would see one more litter of kits before his time.
Drifting back to the moment shared with young Snowkit, he shifted his body so he could lay down without disturbing the white she-kit on his forepaws. "Remember that you have your sister. No matter how far apart you may feel, you will always share a bond with her. The same is true for your elder siblings, too. And even when you can no longer see Mom or me, know we are with you." His tail swept around to tap against her chest softly. "You can find us here. Just listen to the sound of your heart, and know that ours beat in time with yours. We love you, Snowkit. Now, and forever more." leader of stoneclan and may you have the courage to scale their summits background image | harley king | @kahani | table by phoenix

Snowkit The pure white cat had always fancied herself as a bit of a momma's girl but in that moment, with his huge frame hovering protectively over her and his steady purr of affection Snowkit remembered how much her father meant to her. She listened to his story about his brother Viperpaw and looked up at the star's with a wonder that rivaled her first glances at the world outside, so full of hope and wonder and yet a solemn though entered her head and she grinned at her father before glancing towards the sky once more.
" Dad must be really annoying if you keep sending him back, eh Uncle Viperpaw?" she joked, a playful smile illuminating her young face. " Seriously though, thank you for sending my daddy back to me and my family, I know you must miss him too" she spoke aloud before glancing at the Stoneclan figurehead. " Do you think he can hear me dad?"" She wanted to know for sure if her message had got through to her uncle in Starclan. Her smile vanished when her father mentioned him and her mother not being there anymore.
"Minkpaw's my sister and she doesn't love me like you and Mum do, None of them do, Herondive is so withdrawn and frankly Vipertail is a mousebrain. No one could be as great as you and Mum, Dad" she whined, her tune changing considerably from the wise young kit to the one who may never let her parents rest in peace.
