StoneClan || Warrior || Tom
Trailing behind his family, Valiantstride watched as Beetlepaw walked alongside his sister. Skunkspots just a quarter stride ahead of them. It had been a Clanmate's idea that the small family of four take the beautiful day to spend time together. At first Valiantstride didn't want to go. He heard of foxes far too often in the recent camp gossip to feel comfortable out and about with his kits. He wanted them safe and sound in camp, but as his eyes settled on his son's condition Valiantsride was reminded that no where was safe.
His chest tigtened forcing the tom-cat to pause in his step watching his family walk on without him. Guilt had created a den inside the father of two, he blamed himself for his son's injury. He was supposed to protect them, lay down his life for them but he couldn't even do that, instead Sootpaw was injuried saving him. The more logical part of his mind reminded them that he had been out of the camp hunting, providing them with food but his emotions always got the better of him. He failed Beetlepaw, he failed his family.
He tried not to linger behind too long, he needed to be closer in case he had to alert them to danger. Trotting to catch up, Valiantstride brushed against Skunkspot's black and white fur, a strong desire to be beside her. He stayed close to her for a few steps then took a slight lead.
They had found their way to the Sky Springs, just as their clanmate suggested. In all honesty it was a great idea. A light swim would be nice for Beetlpaw's overall strength in his other legs. The weather was warm enough to prompt a nice paw soaking, but Valiantstride did have a slightly hidden agenda. He knew the nursery stories of the Sky Springs, they were said to have healing properties. While he doubted that they could regrow a limb, he prayed to StarClan they would heal his family.
"Lets find a pool deep enough to soak in," He requeted, wandering slightly to inspect a nearby pool.
You're my end and my beginning, even when I lose I'm winning.
'Cause I give you all of me, and you give me all of you, oh oh
