[In Dire Straits]

The ice that forged an age old kingdom for gigantic beasts is breaking. Unable to cope with nature’s turbulent upheavals, they perish. Only their bones lie in memory.

The denizens of the Dire Strait rise up to claim the world as theirs, submerging themselves into a torrent of conflict and uncertainty. Their stories and motivations vary—to love, to fight, to thrive, to build, to learn, to rule—but one instinct drives them above all: to survive.

In Dire Straits (PG-13) is a semi-realistic feral RP with light fantasy elements. Since 2005, our close-knit community of artists and writers have been weaving stories together without pause. Horror, heartache, love, humor, sorrow, hope— you'll find it all, and we're always eager for more authors to pen their adventures through our world.

IDS exists in a deliberately ambiguous era, comprised of an oddball mixture between the ice age, the bronze age, and the dark age. An unstable climate causes rapid and dramatic geological shifts, allowing both shifting terrain and strange creatures. The forum operates in both an open world and open plot setting where members are free to choose from a plethora of different environments within the playable world, host their own events, and create, run, and grow their own packs.

While most players prefer to make wolf and big cat characters, any animal existing after 10,000 BC is available for creation, in addition to some forum created species. We have no restrictions on coat colors or markings, no word count, no point shop, and activity is only monitored on an individual pack basis. Overall we have a lenient outlook that allows members to RP at their own pace. We're here to RP colorful wolves, and we try not to take ourselves too seriously.
