Meadowpaw 12 Moons - She-Cat - StoneClanMeadowpaw had never really liked the toms her own age, they all seemed immature or total jerks and the only decent one of them was her own brother but she only approved of Sootpaw in terms of someone worthy of her brother's affections. It suprised her when her fellow she cat apprentice's began whispering to each other about how cute this tom was and how strong another one was. It amused Meadowpaw but she had little interest in their conversation so she devoted her time into warrior training, Herondive was sweet, abiet a little shy and Meadow actually found herself enjoying the company of her mentor.
So when she was assigned a patrol with a tom she did not know named Waspwing, she was nervous and a little scared, adult tom's like Waspwing were a lot bigger than she was and she had heard rumours that he was a massive flirt so the young she cat had hatched a plan, she would flirt back, just enough to keep him interested but not enough to let him know her true intentions, a game of sorts.
So with all the confidence of ancestor's behind her Meadowpaw marched up to Waspwing before they were due to set out on patrol, keen to start the game she had so carefully planned out. If there was one thing she knew about tom's was they liked a challenge."Waspwing, I have a challenge for you, Think you could in in a fight, I want the practice for my assesment " she whispered softly, winking at him playfully, knowing that she could use her rank as an apprentice to play off any immaturity.
"If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try. @calico ( Waspwing) BlooRey DVD ( Hawkstar mention) Fawn ( Kestrelpaw mention) I think they could start their friendship now, see if it develops after she becomes a warrior.

Waspwing purred thoughtfully at Meadowpaw's request. He kept an eye on all of the apprentices equally, especially Sorrelpaw as was before she had finally been given leave to join him and the other warriors in their den, as well as little Sootpaw (among others) Meadowpaw, however, had always remained a sort of anomaly to him. This interested him greatly. He'd never had the chance to be properly acquainted with her until this moment - different circles - and he was looking forward to getting to properly know the little calico she-cat. Well, he reflected briefly, not so little anymore. He was just overly massive. All apprentices looked little to him. He detected the flirty tone in her voice and stifled a purr of amusement. So, she was going to play the game, was she? This should be fun. "Meadowpaw darlin', I'll happily help you with anything you need help with. Starclan's honour. What would you like me to do?" Winking playfully at her, he began to circle her slowly, keeping both eyes on her at all times, waiting for her next move. Come on sweetheart, play the game.OOC: I sort of picture Waspwing as a cowboy @kahani williams (Sorrelclaw mention)

Meadowpaw 12 Moons - She- Cat - StoneClanMeadowpaw almost smirked when Waspwing purred at her, obviously thinking about her request, but she did not have to wait long before his distinct way of drawling out his words reached her ears, swearing to Starclan that he would help her. Of course he would, all of Stoneclan was like family to her, except him, he always seemed so untouchable, so strange.
The large tom circled her as he finished speaking, his eyes glinting with the thrill of the case and Meadowpaw smiled brightly at him, batting her eyelashes at a tom to get her way was something she had to learn on her own, Duskflower won Eagletalon because they were friends first and no offence to Herondive but Mink-kit was more manipulative.
Nevertheless Meadowpaw felt very small as he circled her, she was not a huge cat like her uncle, father or even her brother Kestrelpaw, she instead had the delicate shape of her mother, her green eyes sparkled with mischeif as she launched at the tom, trying to tackle him. " Pin me if you can" she challenged him.

Waspwing took a moment to admire Meadowpaw's spirit as she sailed through the air to attempt a landing on his shoulders. He let her, taking the little bullet-like force that hit him while barely moving. He was massive, and he knew this, but he wasn't going to let her have it all her own way.
Keeping his claws carefully sheathed - no matter how this went, she was a lady, she was also a member of his own clan, StarClan forbid he truly hurt her - he went to wrap a forepaw around her belly while she was on his shoulders.
Luckily, her weight would never be able to push him down by itself. He was too sure of his footing, his leg muscles strong - yes, Leafbare was hard on everyone, but it was Newleaf now - food was plentiful again.
His aim was to use his body weight against hers, use it to keep her down without actually hurting her. Whether it would work or not, only StarClan knew. But he had a feeling he knew how this fight would pan out.
Boulderjaw, who had seen the two traveling, was watching apprehensively. Waspwing was a known quantity to him - he had seen him fight on several occasions. The little calico apprentice however...
he'd step in if he had to. But for now, he just watched them fighting.

Meadowpaw 15 Moons - She-Cat - StoneClanMeadowpaw did not expect to be able to pin Waspwing, he was to large, to sure of his foorting and Herondive had taught Meadowpaw that it was best to ursurp the oppenents footing before attempting to pin them. Butthis was not a serious fight, the young she cat was having fun and Waspwing would never hurt her.
Waspwing wrapped a fore paw under her belly and she squealed. a giggle escaping her " Oi that tickles" she muttered before she attempted to pull on his ears and bite at his shoulders.
She would win this fight, he would not beat her. She smiled at Bouderjaw as he watched them,an unoffical referee for their fight. " You won't win Waspwing I usually get what I want" Meadowpaw purred in the tom's ear. She wasn't usually a flirt but she genuinely liked him.

What Waspwing was definitely not expecting was the playful giggle that escaped from Meadowpaw as he successfully managed to hook a paw under her belly.
That threw him off his guard.
The teeth needling his shoulders? He definitely wasn't expecting that either.
Meadowpaw could fight dirty.
Waspwing liked this a lot.
His sides heaving with the exertion, he attempted to throw her off, aiming to once again, keep her down with a forepaw.
He refused to hurt her.
He hadn't enjoyed a fight this much in moons.
It wasn't a serious fight, it was only practice and some kind of flirting ritual, which, to Waspwing, was completely adorable. She was a plucky little cat. A lot of things that Meadowpaw was currently doing, Waspwing admired with everything in him.
She'd make a great warrior when the time came.
"You won't win Waspwing, I usually get what I want"
The smirk on his face was evident from a mile away.
"And what is it that you want, little one?"

THEY'RE SO CUTE TOGETHER ALREADY AHHHH

Meadowpaw 12 Moons - She-Cat - StoneClanWaspwing was playful but it was clear who was going to win the fight between an experienced warrior tom and a tiny she cat half his size but that did not stop her from trying to win. She had whispered that she usually get what she wanted and a deep chuckle escaped the tom as he spoke, a deeper tone that what she was perhaps used to but she liked it.
" To win.. duh" she taunted as the tom finally managed to dislodge the playful warrior to be from his back and she feel with a gentle thud on the soft earth with an ooofph sound. Her temporary defeat did nothing to deter her spirits and she studdenly became very serious in her attacks, attempting to attack his legs to perhaps through Waspwing off balance and finally end this strange version of a fight with an undercat triumph.
"If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try."
No muse sorry it's so short. @calico ( Waspwing)

Hmm.. Seemed Meadowpaw was playing for keeps now. Good. Waspwing liked it that way.
Put your all into every fight, whether it's a play fight or a fight for your life. That way even if you do lose, you can look at it as a positive experience where knowledge has been gained.
Not that he'd ever tell any cat that philosophy on his fighting. It would totally go against his image.
The attacks to his legs were insistent and consistent.
He'd had an idea.
He would somehow position himself so he was above her. Then he'd let her take his legs out. He'd topple, land on top of her, and roll off before he did any serious damage to her.
Then he'd yield.
His face was in the dirt before he'd even finished formulating his plan.
However, she'd left her tail unguarded.
Big mistake.
"Very good, little darlin'. But you've forgotten one key thing."
He nipped the tip of her tail.
"Never let your guard down."

Meadowpaw 12 Moons - She-Kit - StoneClanMeadowpaw's trimph over Waspwing was imminent the moment the big tom's face hit the dirt as she managed to use his massive wieght against him. He praised her before his jaws clasped on her tail and she let out a yelp. "Ouch!" she quickly pulled her tail from his jaw's with a indignant expression in her green eyes.
" Thanks for the tip" she muttered, fully aware of the irony, he had grabbed her by the tip of her tail after all. She only managed to hold her serious expression for a minute or so before a smile broke out on her delicate face. Lifting her head to meet the much larger tom's gaze she gave a small bow.
" Truce?" she asked shyly, still a little indignant that he had still beaten her even after she knocked him down. How did he still manage to beat her after all her effort and sheer determination? Any experienced warrior would know that size played a major part in Waspwing's trimph over Meadowpaw but the young apprentice still held the fact that she had held her own in a fight against him, even if it was not serious as a major bragging right. She would have to tell Sootpaw all about it in the apprentice den later.
" You know you are a good teacher Waspwing, why don't you have a apprentice, or is your expert advice just for me?" she teased lightly, almost batting her eyelashes at the tom. She may be an apprentice still but even as a kit Meadowpaw always knew what she wanted. She adored her father and his attention but she wasn't a helpless kit anymore and she no longer seeked his approval as much.
Her budding relationship with Waspwing proved that she no longer saw all toms as figures of authority, no instead she was learning her place in the clan's social order. Testing each tom to see if any were worthy enough for her affections and alll but Waspwing had failled. Meadowpaw liked the tom's easy drawl and his sheer size made her feel safe enough to be the spunky little she cat she had always been. without worry of him judging her. Waspwing was purring with laughter at the indignant noise that had escaped from Meadowpaw when his teeth had found the small point in the tip of her tail.
Her next question had thrown him slightly, but he refused to be caught off guard again.
"I guess it's just because Hawkstar has had other things in mind for me. I haven't had an apprentice yet, but hopefully at some point I will. For now though, I'm all yours, little one."
The irony of that did not escape him. He knew that she was at that age now where she was starting to truly make sense of herself and her surroundings. (And with that realisation, the knowledge of toms and kittens and the maternal instinct that drove most females.) He just hoped that if the time came and she, for some reason, wanted to pick him to sire her kits and (hopefully) be her mate for many, many seasons, he would both be in a position to, and able to, give her what she deserved. Love.
Every cat, no matter who they were, deserved love. Love and happiness.
He began to groom the dust out of his fur, grimacing at the taste of it on his tongue.

Meadowpaw 12 Moons - She-Cat - StoneClanMeadowpaw nodded in understanding as Waspwing spoke of Hawkstar having other plans for him than to be a mentor. Not all cats were mentors, in fact Meadowpaw was certain that her own mother had never mentored a cat while her father had mentored Meadowpaw's own mentor Herondive.
"I am not little" Meadowpaw huffed, playfulling glaring at Waspwing as she rose to her feet and approached him, watching curiously as he groomed his fur clean of the dirt and without much thought Meadowpaw began to absentmindly groom the tom's ginger fur.
After a moment she realised what she was doing anf pulled back, stammering an apology before she sat back on her haunches to watch him. " Did you pick your warrior name Waspwing? Kestrelpaw and I always joking about that when we were little, He was Kestrelstar, and I was Meadowflight. Sootpaw was Sootwing and it was a lot of fun" Meadowpaw had always been a curious cat, it was one of the reasons she had found her aunt Dawnblossom's den so interesting.
But the time for talk of her kithood was over and with a sign she finally met the tom's gaze. " You are so different from everyone else" she stated but did not offer any other explaination. In her head she knew she found him different because she liked him. He was a large tom and a good warrior but he was also kind and made her feel special. It was offical, at least in Meadowpaw's heart that she had a crush on the older tom but his age was not a problem for her, and it was noone esles business if they had an issue with it.
"If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try."
