[smear:dcc2ea]Dawnblossom[/smear:c2dbea] No amount of moss bedding or feathers could dampen the sound of the howling wind outside. She didn't need to look outside to know that fresh snow was piling up just outside her den. Travelling to Moontree was not something she looked forward to. Rising up from her decently warm nest, she moved closer to where Beetlekit was sleeping, nestled beside his parents and sibling. The loss of his leg would hinder the young tom-kit for many moons and while he was sleeping Dawnblossom wanted to be near him to help at a moment's notice should he wake. Which wouldn't be possible if she decided to head to the gathering alongside her now fully trained apprentice. In fact, giving the present situation that was Bettlekit, she made her decision in that moment.
Leaving the small family Dawnblossom made her back into the den in order to find Sandblaze. "Sandblaze, I want you to go to the Medicine Cat Meeting tonight on your own. I am going to stay behind and be on call for Beetlekit. I have faith you will to well on your own. I'd suggest taking two of the lighter footed warriors to make travel quicker over the snow," Her words were soft and careful not to wake the sleeping family. "I'll see you when you get back, She told him in parting, then a kind press of her nose to his shoulder. A sign that he was indeed ready to go alone.

Medicine Cat of StoneClan Sandblaze There's a spark inside us, That we can all ignite Sandblaze stretched out his lean body, ears turning as he heard another cat approaching. He wasn't surprised by his Mentor's appearance, but he was surprised by her confidence in him going alone for the first time to the Medicine Cat's meeting. It was hardly his first time going so he definitely knew the way, but it was his first time going without her. He understood though, they had a critical patient to tend to and the both of them couldn't leave the territory because of this. He only nodded and rose, calling two of the clan's Warriors to his side to make the journey with him.
The journey itself was uneventful, and Sandblaze took the time to think about his still absent mother. He missed her, but knew she was doing what she had to. She had an Apprentice with her so he knew she'd return when things were settled. And Kestrelpaw could ask for no one better to teach him than Silverglade. Still he couldn't help but worry. She had promised to be back by now and yet he'd heard nothing of any sign of her. He had faith in her though, and wouldn't let anything shake that. The journey she took was a long one so it was possible it was taking longer than she'd expected.
His thoughts cleared as finally he spotted his destination; finding himself the first to arrive and feeling a faint sense of apprehension fill him before he shook himself to settle the emotion to the back of his mind. He would do fine, he knew what he was doing. This was hardly his first time doing this. Settling down, Sandblaze prepared to wait for the others that had yet to come, wondering what news this meeting would bring.

The air had cooled significantly as Leafbare settled over the valley. With a shiver, the LightningClan medicine cat pulled herself to her paws. Leafbare was the season she most noticed her solitude. No one but her inhabited this den, making sharing warmth impossible unless someone was ailing. And of course, even then sleeping next to someone wasn't necessarily a good idea. She couldn't afford to get sick, not when she was the only one able to heal her Clan. Pushing back memories of the greencough epidemic, Kindleflare idly picked out the required traveling herbs. Approaching pawsteps told her the two warriors she'd selected as escorts were on their way.
Spottednose's deep voice greeted her as he ducked his head into the den. "We are prepared whenever you are, Kindleflare." Turning to the entrance with herbs in her jaws, the ginger and white she-cat smiled timidly. Waiting until she was near enough to drop the herbs at the tom's paws on the other side of the entrance, the LightningClan healer returned his greeting. "Th-Thank you, Spottednose. W-We'll depart j-just as soon as both you and Th-Thistlefoot e-eat the t-traveling herbs." Stooping to divide the herbs into three distinct bundles, she offered two to the accompanying warriors with a smile.
Lapping up the leaves and ignoring any bitterness in them, Kindleflare carefully made sure her escorts followed suit before flicking her tail pleasantly. "O-Okay, we're a-all set." She murmured into the quiet air. The pair nodded, and the small group set out on a journey that had long since grown familiar to the medicine cat. She barely noticed the long trek anymore. The only aspect that made the Leafbare trip any different to the others was the sharp cold she could feel biting at her paws. Despite the inconvenience, not one member of the party made a complaint.
The journey passed by in a flash, for Kindleflare spent much of it in her own thoughts, contemplating just who she might talk to tonight and what about. Flameshadow seemed to be a constant presence in her dreams, but... There was always the slightest chance someone new would visit her. It unsettled her slightly, for Kindleflare felt so incredibly comfortable with Flameshadow. What would she do if her brother didn't show tonight?
Forced out of her inner turmoil by Spottednose's voice indicating they'd arrived, Kindleflare's pelt prickled in embarrassment. "O-Oh! Thank you, b-both of you... You m-may r-rest now... S-Stay warm." She purred a little awkwardly before heading toward the entrance to the Moon Tree. She could see was not the first to arrive; StoneClan's medicine cat apprentice Sandblaze was seated at the entrance, though Kindleflare couldn't help but notice he was here alone. S-StarClan... Please n-not another o-one.
Holding her breath, Kindleflare smiled at the younger tom as she sat down next to him. "H-Hello, Sandblaze. O-On your... Y-Your own tonight?" She questioned softly, dark eyes glinting with a hint of worry. |

[smear:ffffff]Swanfeather[/smear:343B4F] I dreamed a dream in time gone by When hope was high And life worth living 75 Moons || Medicine Cat of RainClan || She-Cat Sitting at the threshold of the medicine cat den, Swanfeather waited for her escorts. Wolfheart was the first of the two to arrive. He dipped his head in greeting but didn't utter a word. Stormfeather joined his Clanmate, a young she-cat right behind him.
"Do you mind if I bring Poppypaw?" He asked her, his apprentice standing behind him with her tail twitching with excitement.
"She is to on her best behavior. She will be representing RainClan and do not wish for an ill-mannered apprentice to make tension," She told him with a sharpness in her tone. Stormfeather nodded before turning to his apprentice. He shared a private conversation with the she-cat in which she nodded quickly to each of his given requests. Stormfeather gave his apprentice a short lick to her ear before turning back to Swanfeather. "She will behave," Her told her, Swanfeather nodded without saying a word and turned back to the deeper part of her den.
She found Dewpaw where she had left her, sorting the last little bit of traveling herbs. Enough for their warrior escorts. "We need to make half a dose for Poppypaw," Swanfeather told Dewpaw before joining her apprentice in preparing the herbs.
Once everything was divided up Swanfeather took the two warrior bundles and left the last for Dewpaw to carry. Joining the trio outside their den, Swanfeather gave them each one and waited for the warriors to take their herbs. They needed all the extra strength that could be provided. Leafbare was the harshest season when it came to staying outside all night, the night of the meeting would be no different.
"Lets go," She told them before taking the lead and heading out of camp.
The pace was set by Swanfeather and that was described as slow. Cold weather always tired out the she-cat's aging joints. She needed a slow and even pace to ensure she made it to the Moon Tree without being in a massive amount of pain.
Poppypaw kept to Dewpaw's side and attempted to talk to the young medicine cat during their journey. Stormfeather only reminded her twice not to ask a certain question. Wolfheart kept a distance from the group, choosing to walk ahead and scout for danger. Swanfeather appreciated his vigilance.
Upon arriving, Swanfeather saw Kindleflare and Sandblaze. Without a sign of Dawnblossom, Swanfeather frowned slightly. Had something happened to the other medicine cat? But her thoughts were paused when she turned to her warrior escorts. "Stay warm," She told them as a form of dismissal as she flicked her tail for Dewpaw to follow and join the cats ahead.
"Good evening," She meowed in greeting before sitting and starting her wait for the others.

dewpaw, Dewpaw enjoyed working with herbs, which was going to work with her path in life very well. It made her paws smell later on, but she liked discovering how each plant combined to create the desired affect. Now only if I could find the right trick to make these herbs easier to swallow she thought mildly, finishing up the packet of traveling herbs she was working on with delicate claws. Pawsteps broke her concentration, Swanfeather coming back to retrieve the packets for whomever she had chosen to travel with them.
"We need to make half a dose for Poppypaw," Her mentor said, moving to finish the packets Dewpaw had started.
"Right." Dewpaw nods, settling beside her mentor comfortably to create the new packet. She kept her questions to herself, for now, only asking a few to confirm she was adjusting the dosage correctly. When they were done, she obediently followed her mentor to the chosen cats, then out to the Moon Tree.
The air outside the camp was chilly, Dewpaw fluffing up to hopefully contain some heat. Poppypaw must've found it funny, striking up a conversation as they walked. She didn't mind. It was fun to talk to someone other than her mentor about her line of work, especially someone as curious as herself! Yet the cold caught up, and to preserve her nose from freezing over, Dewpaw gave a polite decline to more questions and focused on moving enough to keep her blood warm. If she was this cold, what was her mentor going through?
As they reached the tree, bidding a farewell to their companions, Dewpaw jogged to keep step with Swanfeather. "We got some extra daisies we can put on your joints tonight," the apprentice said once she was close enough, voice soft so only her mentor could hear. "I don't want you to be in pain tomorrow from our walk."
Inside the tree, thankfully was warmer, the tree still beautiful as ever. She dipped her head in greeting as well. Were they all here? Her blue eyes scanned the gathered cats. No, they arrived quicker than last time. She tucked her paws in neatly, side against Swanfeather to provide some warm, ready to wait.

His mind was miles away even as he made the trip to Moon Tree. So much had changed, and so much more was changing. Roughest of all was the battle with his breaking heart. He'd finally accepted that he couldn't carry on as he had been, sneaking out whenever his duties allowed to see a she-cat he could never give the life and happiness she deserved, running himself ragged on herb collecting both for his own clan and what he could spare for Kindleflare's. He realized that LightningClan wasn't his responsibility, but it was like StarClan was telling him he was doing right. They had lost everything to the fire now moons past, and it wouldn't be until Newleaf that the herbs that they needed would return in enough force to do them any good. So he'd shared what he could, and pressed on. It was easier for him to get afield than his counterpart in LightningClan, and he wished only happiness for she and hers. So he'd helped, and he'd pushed himself, and now he was realizing that times had to change. He couldn't do this alone anymore. The smaller cats around so many of the older ones told him that most everyone else had chosen an apprentice. It was time for him to do the same. So, whenever he had the chance, he would end things with Herondive and start looking for an apprentice. He needed to talk to Gorsetail and Lionstar first before he did. He'd never gotten the chance to train an apprentice, and wasn't really sure how to balance it with his own duties. It didn't help matters that Falconstorm was a busy body, a work-a-holic, and other such names he heard his clanmates call him. He expected everything from himself, and so would push for everything from an apprentice. He wondered if anyone could keep up with his demands. "We've arrived." One of his escorts told him, and he barely heard the she-cat as he was so deep in his own thoughts. "Thank you." He muttered it and sighed, brushing past them both with a brush of his tail over their backs. "Stay warm. I don't want to have to treat frost bite." He noticed that the others had arrived, all but NightClan who always arrived last in these things as they had the furthest to come. He worried about Smokefur. She and Swanfeather were the oldest of the gathered medicine cats now, and the journey wasn't an easy one. Especially in leafbare, even with the mild weather they were enjoying snow made everything difficult. Still, it lightened his heart to see so many of them in attendance this season. Each season that passed without losing another of their number was a season he rejoiced in. The large tom dipped his head to the others, and wondered about Sandblaze being alone. It was possible someone back home was sick, so he didn't worry too much just yet. The youngster would tell them if something had happened to Dawnblossom. He prayed she was still well. It had become his custom to sit with Kindleflare, and so sat next to the she-cat and gently flicked his tail against her side in greeting. He gave her a smile then concentrated back on the others. Now all that was left was to wait for NightClan to arrive. @poptart Fawn Silver BlooRey DVD Hellion williams

curiosity is not a sin... ...but we should exercise caution with our curiosity Shadowchaser NightClan was the last to arrive. Shadowchaser dipped his head in apology to the more senior medicine cats, but reserved a friendly smile for Sandblaze and Dewpaw, the healers closest to him in age. Sandblaze's mentor, Dawnblossom, was not here tonight. Shadowchaser's expression dipped from contentment to concern in a single breath. Had something befallen Dawnblossom? Or StoneClan, for that matter?
Shadowchaser's curiosity burned inside his paws as it always did, stinging him like a bee; he had to know. Okay he didn't have to know, but he wanted to. Shadowchaser may be from NightClan, but the lithe healer did not enjoy being left in the dark.
Now that they had all arrived, and the long trek to the Moon Tree was (for the moment) behind him, Shadowchaser took a second to shake the flakes from his coat. Cool paws made him uncomfortable, and he did not look forward to curling up beside the Moon Tree's roots. Their sacred medium no doubt looked splendid in leafbare, but Shadowchaser did not have Falconstorm's voluminous coat.
StarClan wouldn't let him freeze to death beneath the Moon Tree, but he would certainly get colder than he liked. But Shadowchaser supposed he shouldn't be fussy; it was an honor to be here, and in good company. "Is the prey running well? I hope no sickness has plagued any of you." Shadowchaser spoke up kindly, intending to squeeze a conversation in before they shared dreams with StarClan.
But, it was indeed cold, and the sooner they began - the sooner they could get to their warm nests. medicine cat of nightclan @tagged | jk rowling | background image | table by phoenix Silver , BlooRey DVD , Hellion , williams , Justice Skipped Smokefur with permission from Smokey!

Medicine Cat of StoneClan
Sandblaze There's a spark inside us, That we can all ignite Sandblaze watched as each of those that would gather arrived and he respectfully inclined his head to each of them; noting that each was worried by the lack of his Mentor by his side. Once the last of them were there, he stood back up to his full height and spoke clearly in his soft purr of a voice to those gathered. "I'm glad to see each of you made it here safely. Dawnblossom chose to remain with the clan as she was needed there. I am here alone this time because she felt I was ready to be. There is no need to worry for she is well." He took a deep breath to center himself; still a bit unsteady around those he didn't know that well, but confident enough to stand before them still.
Talk changed to things going on and he nodded. "StoneClan is doing well. Some herbs are getting harder to find but we aren't running low just yet as we prepared well for this leaf-bare. There have been kits born and the usual illness for this time of year, but nothing we couldn't handle." Although there was the matter of his StarClan sent dream and what it had meant for his mother, but that wasn't something to bring up here before these others. He scanned each of them, especially Shadowchaser as the other tom was his friend, before nodding to himself contently. They were well; though Falconstorm did seem a bit...preoccupied. He wondered why but it certainly wasn't his place to ask such a thing. So he'd observe and hope things turned out well.
And all that's dark inside us, Will flicker into light
