Fawnpaw 13 MOONS - SHE-CAT - TREECLAN Gatherings were meant to be exciting. She'd been looking forward to this day ever since she'd first heard of it. Yet now as Lionstar led the way into StarClan's Claws, her emotions were split down the middle.
Awe, from the presence of StarClan and the magnitude of the claws. And then melancholia. Ever since Aspenpaw's fight with Moonfeather, nothing felt okay anymore. Fawnpaw tried to keep pace with Aspenpaw, but he pulled ahead before she could brush her thin pale coat against his like she used to. Fawnpaw's heart faltered at the rejection from her littermate.
It was as if the past 12 moons just hadn't happened. She'd known him almost her whole life - how could he just stop being her brother? An easily recognizable shape appeared beside her, and Fawnpaw felt a little of her depression lift. Thornpaw was always by her side. Sometimes he felt more like a brother to her than Aspenpaw did.
Well, kinda. Thornpaw was different, of course.
Fawnpaw had never been a large cat, or destined to become one despite her father's tall stature. Thornpaw dwarfed her these days, and she didn't mind at all - often joking that if he got any bigger, he'd put a hole in their den ceiling.
But here, there were so many tall, well formed cats - both you and old, male and female, that Fawnpaw couldn't help wondering if she wasn't, well, kind of a runt?
And then she saw Hawkstar. Fawnpaw gaped at him, awed by how he still looked large even next to Lionstar. Her eyes were on the great rock, but her paws kept going. A brush of fur tickled her nose, and Fawnpaw sprang back. "Sorry! Are you okay?" They hadn't even collided fully, barely even a graze, but her nerves had her blurting apologies, afraid to step on anyone's toes. As we soared above the town that never loved me I realized I finally had a family ❋ 306 Words ❋ williams BlooRey DVD ❋ Notes

dewpaw, Dewpaw's first gathering! Her excitement flooded every part of her body, spilling out as questions that eventually her mentor grew bored of answering. With a final, "Just wait and see Dewpaw, many questions will be answered once we're there." the young apprentice was shooed over to fetch the pair some fresh kill for energy. Bounding alongside Swanfeather had been fun, but Dewpaw wanted to enter Starclan's Claws with her sister. Unfortunately, the crowd swept the pair of medicine cats towards their final destination, her smaller limbs unable to keep up with the swell enough to change her own course in time. One day, she thought, but the sadness quickly evaporated.
"Wow!" She cried out, eyes wide at the sight below. Cats of all shapes, sizes and ages milled the clearing, their smells becoming a confusing muddle to tickle Dewpaw's nose. She sneezed, then finding her mentor's similar white and brown pelt, the apprentice focused on making her way to somewhere with a better vantage, hopefully by her mentor's side. As she walked, cats mingled in front of her pathway, pelts of colors she had never seen before appearing and disappearing. It reminded her of a school of fish, or a flock of birds or- a neatly organized herb stock. Together, they were all the same thing, in herbs' case, they were meant to cure, fish and birds were prey but individually, they were unique and required a different technique to catch or use.
A startled squawk broke Dewpaw out of her thoughts, out of the questions she wanted to ask her mentor. She let out a little huh, and turned around to see who it was. She didn't recognize the she-cat, but she looked young too. And very upset about something. "You didn't run into me!" Dewpaw said, giving what she hoped was a calming smile. "I was moving too fast, it was just a touch! I'm Dewpaw, what's your name?" At the last second she remembered her manners, something Swanfeather was teaching. Sometimes you had to treat cats from another clan, and it helped to introduce yourself before putting your paws to work.

Finchpaw So many times it happens too fast You trade your passion for glory Finchpaw bounded into the clearing with a carefully timed leap, making sure to avoid knocking into any cats who might be tempted to swat him across the face for his daring. Once steady on his paws again, the ginger tom had a look around, spotting many familiar faces, and just as many unfamiliar: apprentices who until just recently had been kits in the nursery, here for the first time. New friends! But it was Fawnpaw he trotted toward, drawing breath to warn her as he spotted her on a collision course with a small apprentice, but she jumped back before their bodies bumped together, bouncing backward as though she'd been struck. Coming up alongside her, Finchpaw waved his tail in a friendly gesture at Dewpaw. "Her name's Fawnpaw, I'm Finchpaw. You're a new apprentice, right? First time at a Gathering? Oh, are you in for a treat." A casual sniff in her direction, picking up the scent of RainClan on her soft fur, as well as the strong scent of herbs. "Oh, you've been apprenticed to Swanfeather, have you? That's all right, I guess. I'd much rather be a warrior, though."Fawn williams Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past You must FIGHT just to keep them ALIVE

SOME LEGENDS ARE TOLD, SOME TURN TO DUST OR TO GOLDThoRnpaW 12 Moons || Tom || TreeClan The long-limbed tabby tom strode next to his closest friend, aware of the sudden drop in her mood. When she looked his way, he offered her one of his winning (according to his and his mother’s evaluation, at least) grins, ducking his head to nudge her shoulder. He felt a sense of relief seeing her relax a little, his long-furred tail sweeping behind him slowly. Thornpaw had been about to say something when they arrived at StarClan's Claws. Curious amber eyes swept over the area, taking in the throng of cats already forming. There were a lot of cats in TreeClan… He guessed he never really thought that there were four other Clans like TreeClan inhabiting the valley.
Seeing them here really put it in perspective. Fawnpaw’s awed expression drew his attention, and he followed her gaze to find… His eyes narrowed slightly as he inspected the massive sand-colored tom seated atop the leader’s stone. Thornpaw’s tail curled thoughtfully, a frown pulling at the corners of his mouth. He considered himself a tall cat; he was pretty much on par with Lionstar, despite still being young. And yet, here was a tom who could only be described as gigantic. Lionstar was not a small cat, not by any means. But somehow, this StoneClan leader just…
And Hawkstar was scarred. Thornpaw could see them, even from here. Is that what Fawnpaw likes? He thought to himself. Scars and muscles? He could still gain muscles, right? He was already starting to fill out. Scars would never be as visible on him because of his long fur, but… They would come with battles, surely? Narrowing his eyes in an unspoken challenge (toward a tom who wasn’t even looking at him, mind you), Thornpaw puffed out his chest to look just a little bigger.
And then a whole sequence of events distracted him. Blinking with the sudden realization he had stopped moving long enough for Fawnpaw to pull ahead and nearly crash into someone, Thornpaw willed his body to move forward. Brown ears pricked to catch the fragments of conversation, and he watched as Finchpaw beat him to the forming congregation. Slipping back into his charming grin, Thornpaw pulled up on Fawnpaw’s other side, lowering him into a sit as he cast a glance toward Finchpaw. “Like you know any better, Finchpaw.” He teased, before focusing his amber eyes on Dewpaw.
His tone was friendly as he continued. “Don’t mind my brother, sometimes he doesn’t really what he’s saying. Everyone’s path is their choice, and I think picking medicine cat is really noble! I would be foxdung at it, I’m sure.” Lifting a paw, he gave it a shake. “Can ya imagine these big paws trying to handle herbs? ‘Cause I sure can’t!” He laughed easily, before adding. “Name’s Thornpaw, by the way. Nice to meet ya, Dewpaw! What d’ya think of the Gathering so far? I didn't really think there'd be so many cats!” BUT YOU WILL REMEMBER ME FOR CENTURIES ~480 words Fawn williams Taxx He's such a dork XD XD

Fawnpaw 13 MOONS - SHE-CAT - TREECLANTo Fawnpaw's immense relief, the cat she'd almost-sorta bumped into received her apology well. Dewpaw introduced herself, and when Fawnpaw took a moment to smile gratefully, she caught a whiff of the other she-cat's scent. She was an apprentice, like her, but Dewpaw's path was much different from Fawnpaw's; as Finchpaw so clearly pointed out, Dewpaw was a medicine cat's apprentice.
When the enormous ginger tom took her introduction right out of her mouth, Fawnpaw had given his shoulder a nudge, feigning annoyance. Now he definitely felt like a brother. A littermate. A great big nuisance that she loved as much as her own kin. "It's nice to meet you. I'm glad not every other apprentice here is as big as a fox." Fawnpaw's luminous green eyes found Thornpaw's, just as the tabby tom reappeared at her side. "Just these two."
Thornpaw's arrival was greeted with a purr as her nerves began to settle. Her best friend brought up the image of himself trying to sort herbs, and Fawnpaw actually laughed - letting go of some of the angst she'd brought with her to the gathering. "That would go over about as well as a badger being Falconstorm's new apprentice. I think the three of us are better off as warriors." Fawnpaw's tail waved gayly behind her. "Less herbs will get crushed."
Wait a second... Did she say Swanfeather? The TreeClan she-cat's eyes widened, and she scanned the crowd for RainClan's medicine cat. Wasn't she supposed to be exiled? Fawnpaw had never been to a gathering up to this point, but surely if there had been a major change-up in RainClan she would have heard about it. Wasn't there another healer in charge? Otter...something?
Fawnpaw tried to catch Thornpaw's eye, wondering if the same thoughts were running through his head right now.
"How are things in RainClan?" She finally spoke up, hoping to gently glean some information out of Dewpaw before most of those questions occurred to Finchpaw - and he'd end up blurting them out up front. The last thing she wanted was to make another cat uncomfortable. It was far too easy to picture herself in Dewpaw's place, surrounded by three apprentices from another Clan and having to explain the latest happenings of her Clan. Some good, some bad.
Fawnpaw couldn't help it though. She had to know what was going on. Maybe Maplebrook knew? Her mentor was attending the gathering as well, and Fawnpaw had no plans to leave as clueless as when she'd arrived. dewpaw, Another cat swiftly joined their gathering, interrupting the she-cat to give both of their names. He was large, and Dewpaw wished she had stuck by her mentor, or at least found Fernpaw first. She nodded mutely to his question of whether or not it was her first gathering, still amazed there were cats still training at his size. Was he held back for an injury? Or a sickness? Or was he just that large? Dewpaw's eyes widened at the thought of his parents being even larger, paws big enough to cover the stepping stones along Rainclan's river.
"Oh, you've been apprenticed to Swanfeather, have you? That's all right, I guess. I'd much rather be a warrior, though." Finchpaw continued on, and Dewpaw snorted. Of course he'd rather be a warrior, he's so big he's squash all the herbs before they could get used. She opened her mouth to give a more polite reply, when another tom joined the group. Another cat from Treeclan her nose said. He was polite, questions spilling out his mouth as quickly as her own would. Dewpaw curled her tail happily, eager to reply to such a considerate apprentice, especially one from another clan.
"Thank you," She dipped her head at the thought of her path being considered noble, tacking on a laugh at the idea of this second large tom in the medicine cat's den. It would have been a funny sight. "I do enjoy it a lot! There's so much to learn but I've already helped a couple cats with scratches, and the elders are appreciating my smaller paws when applying their daily medicine. Nice to meet all three of you!" At his final question, the apprentice tilted her head, eyes scanning wide to see the gathered cats. Thornpaw was right, there were way more cats than she had ever seen before. It made sense now that there were five clans in the area. It had only seemed like a make-up thought before, but seeing them all gathered...
Dewpaw cleared her throat, realizing she had forgotten to give an answer. "It's busy! Like a day in camp times five! I'm glad the first cats I met are nice and willing to talk." The trio worked like schools of fish, flowing through each other's conversations as easily as the fish would navigate the waters. It was delightful to watch, and made Dewpaw miss her sister even more. She would be able to talk to these cats easier, brag about her catches and boast her Rainclan warrior training. Should I have kept with Swanfeather, and talked to the other medicine cats instead?
"How are things in RainClan?" Fawnpaw's question broke the quiet that had comfortably settled on the group. How she asked it made Dewpaw think back to Rushwhisker collapsing in camp, history spilled out for all to see, teaching the next generation what hate looked like. The medicine cat apprentice sighed at the memory, knowing it was only the start of healing something greater than herbs could touch. "It's good," she said instead, response quickly following the question instead of lingering in the air like the last question. "Fish are plentiful and herbs are growing really well! Swanfeather is a really good teacher. She's been really patient with all my questions and hasn't backed down from the clan's response of her coming back as the medicine cat." Her words were as polite as Dewpaw could make them- remembering that she was representing her clan- yet vague as she was unsure of how much the other cats knew of Rainclan's history. But the medicine cat apprentice also hoped to defend her mentor. Swanfeather was a great mentor, and Dewpaw knew that is what made her decide to step between her and Rushwhisker to give a solution. History was history, and the other clans didn't need to teach it as a illness to avoid. One conversation at a time, Dewpaw hoped to change that mindset.
670 got deep by the end of it haha
