Lionstar The crown is getting heavy But they've written my name in the stars "Littlestep, Almondpaw, Oakwind, Maplebrook, Fawnpaw, Finchpaw, Thornpaw, Aspenpaw. Time for the gathering!" Lionstar's strong voice filled the camp, reverberating through the warriors' and apprentices' den as TreeClan rallied by the entrance. He watched Finchpaw in particular make his way to the others, hoping the brief excursion out of camp—and away from Amberwing—would do them both some good. Gorsetail was there to keep an eye on things, and look after Finchpaw. As for Falconstorm... It was a relief knowing that the healer had chosen to stay. Lionstar had upset Falconstorm before, and he did not want to pressure Falconstorm into doing anything that went against his personal code or his own plans—no matter how strongly he wanted to prioritize Honeysong's safety. His kits' safety. It was so hard to leave camp, knowing his mate and kits were here. It did not make a difference to Lionstar's sense of longing that they were warm, well-fed, sheltered, and would be just fine without him hovering like a dragonfly—he wanted to stay with them. Just stay. No matter how much he wished it, the guardianship of TreeClan was not to be passed on to Gorsetail for many moons to come; he could not cast aside his leadership duties in favor of being a doting father and dedicated mate.
Just like the forest couldn't truly thrive in only one season, Lionstar had to adapt with shift in seasons. To change as the climate commanded. Sometimes he could be there for Honeysong and Lilykit, Brackenkit and Ivykit, but now was not one of those times. Approaching the nursery, he put on a rueful smile, nuzzling Honeysong once, murmuring. "I love you. I will be back as soon as I can." Each kit was given a gentle touch of his nose to their tiny fuzzy bodies, before he forced himself to leave the nursery before Lionstar's massive paws turned to stones. On the way out of camp, he waved over Skyfall. "Look after them, please." Lionstar met the senior warrior's two-toned gaze, a solemn respect passing between them as he assigned Skyfall to guard the nursery. "With your life, if need be." He felt selfish to ask that of him, but he could not hide how important they were to him. Lionstar had all but given up on ever having a family like this; so he had thrown himself into his role as a Clan leader. Now that he had them...
He couldn't take any risks. And this was TreeClan; they protected their own.
Rallying the gathered cats, Lionstar led the way to StarClan's Claws, slowly convincing himself to actually enjoy tonight's interactions. There would be trouble from NightClan (some things never change); he was keen to see how LightningClan was recovering after the fire, too. It would, as always, be good to see Hawkstar again; there was at least one leader amongst the five who would greet Lionstar's news of kits with genuine happiness. The stars above twinkled, and Lionstar's dense golden-black fur was fluffed against the chill. Leafbare was almost here.
After parting ways with the cats he had brought, Lionstar resumed his perch on the great rock in the center of StarClan's Claws. He was the first one here, probably due to his antsy desire to go quickly and get home early. With any luck on his side, the Gathering could end a bit earlier than the others.
Though StarClan knew he had plenty of news to share. I've been building up all these kingdoms for so long It's good to be king Invited Cats:Fawnpaw Finchpaw Aspenpaw Thornpaw Maplebrook Gorsetail (Deputy) Falconstorm (Meddie) Almondpaw (NPC) Littlestep (NPC) Oakwind (NPC)

the moments when you're in so deep FEELS EASIER TO JUST SWIM DOWN Firestar gently pressed against Russetfall before exiting her den and turning to whisper a goodbye to him. Heading toward the others she paused and gave a fleeting glance toward the sky. She wondered for a moment if Mapleheart was looking down at her, realizing she had gotten distracted she headed toward the group. It was going to be a rough gathering because Russetfall wasn't joining her and she felt oddly lonely. Considering their talk a few days ago she wanted to know if she was expecting kits but it would take time to be sure. With a parting glance to her den, Firestar had a small smile. There was hope for them still.
She had Redscar gather them and at her arrival, she waited for their eye to settle on her. "We will be heading out shortly. I ask that mentors keep a close eye on their apprentices. She told them, looking toward Cedarpaw Dawnpaw and Bluepaw. She wanted them on their best behavior.
"Let's go," She meowed before taking off out of camp at a brisk walk. Firestar led the group with the expectation that Redscar would take the rear of the group to make sure everyone would arrive together and on time.
The cool air was crisp but not at all comforting, instead, it served as a reminder that Leafbare was coming quickly. For a brief moment, Firestar was concerned that bringing in a second litter late in her life and in the heart of leafbare would be foolish but she knew they would make it even if it meant giving up her own life for them.
Slowing her pace the closer they got to StarClan's Claws didn't wait. Instead, she headed right into the gathering place and joined Lionstar. There was something giddy about the golden leader and her interest was peaked. "Hello Lionstar, I hope all is well," Her words were meant to be polite and civil and perhaps a little curious. Like LighitngClan, TreeClan had been lost a portion of their territory to the fire that took most of LightingClan. Had their rivals recovered was of an interest to Firestar who planned to ensure LightingClan survived the coming leafbare and the endless amount to come. Hawkstar may your dreams be larger than mountains Pulling himself stiffly from his nest, the big tom lamented at the loss of his mate's warmth. She shifted, curling herself more tightly to protect what heat from his body remained. Smiling softly, the sand-colored leader bent his head to rasp his tongue over her ear, a deep purr rumbling in his throat. An incoherent mumble escaped the cream and grey she-cat, leaving the tom to chuckle to himself. "I love you, too." He whispered in response, pressing his nose to her cheek one last time before pulling himself away. He'd never leave if he stayed much longer.
Fleeting moments like these... They brought with them the quiet musings of what life would be like if he retired now. Lived the rest of his life not as leader of StoneClan, but an elder. He considered it, but somewhere along in the fantasy, he'd recall his and Frozenrain's devotion to the Clan. Something whispered to him that they weren't quite designed for the 'normal' warrior life, so to speak. Their love for one another was undying, and most definitely strengthened by their roles. Frozenrain bore no official title, yet her opinion was every bit as important to him as Dawnblossom's or Mistpetal's. And the Clan knew it too.
The air outside the den was even cooler, prompting the StoneClan figurehead to pause and stretch. His body never missed an opportunity to remind him of his age, it would seem. Feeling the delightful pops along his back and shoulders, the tom was careful not to disrupt the scars along his chest too much. They'd come a long way since the battle over the Sun Stones when he'd lost a life, but he was always careful. Just in case, he'd tell himself.
Scaling the Rock Pile that had long-since grown familiar to him, Hawkstar's pale amber eyes surveyed the gathered group. Mistpetal sat near the base of the Rock Pile, her tail tip twitching almost nervously. Pausing to offer her a kind smile, he greeted her warmly. "Good evening, Mistpetal. Thank you for gathering everyone." The deputy looked surprised for a moment, but she returned both the smile and the nod eventually. His gaze continued to flicker over the remaining patrol members, hesitating on two green-eyed, black shapes. For a moment, his heart seized; it was like seeing a side-by-side of his brother, both as Hawkstar had last known him, and what he might have become.
I will see you again soon, my brother. He thought to himself, tail tip curling as he steadied himself. "Cats of StoneClan!" He called quietly, careful not to let his voice carry into the dens of sleeping Clanmates. "I will keep this brief, but tonight you represent StoneClan. I expect each of you to be on your best behavior, even if the other Clans prove incapable of doing so. Do not instigate. Do not retaliate. Be the bigger cats, be StoneClan." With a flick of his ear, he led the way to StarClan's Claws.
The journey was quick, for his mind was distracted by many things. A major contender for his attention, of course, was Frozenrain and their growing family. Part of him still couldn't believe she was pregnant again. But of course, their older litter was... Cause for concern. He still wasn't sure whether Herondive would forgive them in the near future. She'd been horribly upset with them, and though he understood to a degree... The big tom sigh silently to himself, pushing the heavier thoughts from his mind as StarClan's Claws pulled into view. Waving his tail to guide the patrol forward, Hawkstar broke into an easy lope into the clearing.
StoneClan surged forth as one, until their figurehead veered off to join the other two present leaders. Scaling the rocks with ease, the big tom padded forward to claim a place beside Lionstar. With a smile to both leaders (albeit one a little more guarded than the other), the StoneClan leader spoke with polite warmth. "Firestar, Lionstar. I hope both your Clans are well." leader of stoneclan and may you have the courage to scale their summits background image | harley king | Justice Silver Fawn Hellion | table by phoenix

SiLverStaR 28 Moons RainClan Tom Okay, so this was it. He took a deep breath and gathered up his reserves of both courage and calm. His first gathering as a leader, and with so much news to sent forth to the other clans. He would be the youngest attending leader, all the others were moons his senior. Hopefully this went well. He didn't want war, he didn't covet anyone's lands or she-cats. So what was there to fight over this close to leafbare? He was more concerned with keeping everyone fed, the too curious kits in the nursery, and the stray former RainClan cats away from his Clanmates. No war. No violence. Now if only he could get everyone else on board with that.
"Birchfall, Minnowsplash, keep a close watch on the nursery. I don't want to come back and hear that someone else has managed to plonk themselves into the stream." StarClan preserve him if one more of this generation of kits did that. He'd hold off their apprentice ceremonies for another season to spite them, banishing them to the nursery the entire time if he had to. They were going to learn that there were consequences to their actions. They broke the rules, they were being suitably punished. His silver tail slashed for a moment before he gathered his chosen cats and headed out from camp. Hopefully the place wouldn't be destroyed when he got back.
The journey itself seemed to go by in a blur of paws and his preoccupied thoughts. When they reached their destination he veered off, pausing briefly at the foot of the large rocks to give a silent prayer that he didn't fall flat on his nose trying to get up the stone. Thankfully, his lean body made easy enough work of the stone and he dipped his head to the others, internally cringing as he wondered at the reception he would get. After all, it hadn't been that long ago that he was deputy.
"Lionstar, Firestar, Hawkstar." What exactly was he supposed to say to them? Here he was before the three most seasoned leaders in the valley, and he was swiftly losing his will to speak. He took in another deep breath, and drew on the strength given to him by StarClan and the cats that granted him his nine lives. His slight shaking stopped finally. "I trust you are all doing well."
There, that was polite.

"There’s a lot of things you need to get across this universe. You know the thing you need most of all?" It felt very strange to Foxstar to arrive to the seasonal gathering as the leader of NightClan instead of its Deputy. It was still very recently that she'd been Deputy and the reason for that had her blood boiling with rage even now. It didn't show at all in her calm steps as she gathered those she would bring with her. "Briarthroat, Smokefur, Shadowchaser, Coalmask, Applewhisker, Snakepaw, Scrap-paw, Sootfeather, Pipitwing, Stoatclaw, Lightstep; we are leaving now. Best hurry." The trip itself was quick and uneventful, but Foxstar wondered over the sort of reception she'd get coming into this. It wasn't common knowledge what had happened, so this entire thing was going to be very interesting.
Not only was she the newest leader going in, but she had a brand new Deputy at her side as well. This made the she-cat inwardly cringe at the attention she'd be drawing to herself, but there was no help for it. Arriving finally at their destination, Foxstar moved confidently up to those already gathered, managing to remain cool and collected in Lionstar's presence if only just. She pulled herself up to her full height and rolled her shoulders to settle herself as she raised her voice at last in greeting. "Lionstar, Hawkstar, Firestar; it is my pleasure to see each of you once again. It does seem we all have much news to share this gathering."
Her tone was calm and cordially polite, but inwardly she was plotting as many ways as her mind could pull forth the ways in which she would murder Lionstar if given half a chance for what he had put her clan through. She knew the rules, and she wouldn't break them. That didn't stop her from plotting her revenge, however. Her gaze shifted to the pale colored tom nearby. She recognized him as RainClan's Deputy, but why was he here instead of Stormstar? Had RainClan also had a change of leadership? Interesting.

Lionstar The crown is getting heavy But they've written my name in the stars The gathered five could not get through greetings without making these new changes in rank apparent. The first to represent the new guard was Silverfrost, though a quick assessment of Silverfrost's position on the rocks could only mean one thing. Stormstar had passed on or stepped down, which was little surprise given the tom had been the oldest of the gathered leaders.
Lionstar greeted him with politeness, not yet comfortable enough with the younger tom to greet him as anything more than an acquaintance. He, Hawkstar and Firestar were a couple of old oaks in the forest; they had withstood many seasons of hardship, and they could not be blamed for placing little stock in saplings when so many failed to last as long as they.
Next, arrived NightClan. Pinestar was not amongst them, and the golden tom's posture stiffened, expression narrowing as he worked through the reasons why. The last he had seen Pinestar, she had been partially carried from the site of their battle, defeated. He had reveled in TreeClan's victory, but not for the bloodshed. They had reveled in TreeClan's victory for the prey they now had access to. Lionstar believed he had acted within TreeClan's best interests. But what if TreeClan's best interests, turned out disastrous to NightClan? That Foxfern was greeting them in the same manner as Silverfrost, led Lionstar to conclude there had been yet another change in ranks.
Her cool demeanor was misleading, though. NightClan was a Clan full of cats with barbed tongues and leering faces. Where was that hostility, now? Lionstar's pelt prickled. Hidden hostility and resentment could be even more dangerous than open animosity. Not sure where they stood, that didn't change his plans to see that this gathering went on a little more quickly than usual.
With a brief glance to the other leaders, Lionstar announced that he would speak first.
He stepped forward, letting the dull roar of five Clans interacting fade into a low murmur, and at last to silence as he opened his maw. "TreeClan remains strong and steady, despite recent hardships. Our apprentices' den is slowly emptying now that we have a few young warriors in our midst. We have been blessed with a new litter of kits, as well." Lionstar's heart swelled with pride, and he seemed to grow larger, standing in the moonlight like a defiant ray of greenleaf sun, unwilling to relinquish its light. "My mate, Honeysong, has given birth to a litter of three. Two she-kits and a tom."
Congratulations and a few jests ("It's about time!") issued from the crowd, and Lionstar allowed it, smiling under the rush of paternal warmth he felt for the family snuggled up safely back at camp. "Leafbare approaches fast, but we are prepared to endure whatever fate may throw at us." Golden eyes found each of the leaders. "I hope StoneClan, NightClan, RainClan and LightningClan are faced with similar good fortune." With those final words, Lionstar took too paces back, regally relinquishing his spot at the front of the rock to allow the next leader to move forward.
Now all he had to do was wait. Wait for the meeting to end, and then he could go back home. Home, where his heart was. I've been building up all these kingdoms for so long It's good to be king

the moments when you're in so deep FEELS EASIER TO JUST SWIM DOWN At Hawkstar's arrival, Firestar felt her teeth clamp down on her tongue. The anger in her heart for the loss of Mapleheart was still raw in her chest, but she kept her mouth shut. Choosing to only nod in greeting, the smallest of all the leaders was surprised to see a different cat leading RainClan.
She expected Stormstar's imposing frame but instead, she got a new cat, a name she couldn't place very well. She knew it was Silver-something but beyond that, she was at a loss. Firestar expected answers to be given once it was RainClan's turn to talk. Dipping her head in greeting she turned her focus to look at her Clanmates.
A few were chatting with rival clans but most were on their own, not that Firestar blamed them. Firestar had never been one to encourage rival Clan friendships. They only made things messy.
Just as she was about to question where NightClan was, they arrived. They two were lead by a different cat. Firestar knew the she-cat as Foxfern but judging by the way she carried herself Firestar had a feeling Pinestar was no more.
Injecting her own polite greeting, Firestar was eager to start the actual gathering. Her fire-yellow eyes shifted to Lionstar as she waited for the leader to step forward and speak.
When the golden tom did so, Firestar's ears hung on every word. She expected Redscar to do the same. They needed to remember everything said to hopefully use it in the future but the mention of kits softened Firestar's resolve for a moment. Kits were always a blessing.
Refocusing her attention Firestar nodded in approval as he ended before she stood up and took a step forward.
"LightingClan is growing strong. Our apprentices are training hard and soon will be joining the ranks of warriors. We have recovered well from the fire and despite the setback, LightingClan is determined to survive the coming Leafbare, even if we must fight tooth and claw," She explained, her words empowering as well as threatening. She wasn't about to let any of her rivals think they were weak. They survived the fire they could survive Leafbare.
"With StarClan's blessing we will see each other again in Newleaf," She added before stepping back, turning to look at the remaining leaders to signal for them to go next. FIRESTAR background image | its quiet uptown | table by phoenix

Hawkstar may your dreams be larger than mountains Well, it would seem StarClan continues to throw us surprises. He thought to himself, glancing briefly toward TreeClan’s lion-like leader as two new forms directed themselves to the leaders' perch. He wondered whether similar thoughts were running through Lionstar’s head; they were progressively becoming older while the other Clans changed around them. Firestar was of similar age, but Hawkstar recalled a time when Redstar led LightningClan. It was difficult to imagine TreeClan beneath a rule other than their iconic lion. Offering each new arrival a respectful dip of his head, Hawkstar waited for one of the other leaders to begin the Gathering.
Lionstar was first to step forward, and the StoneClan figurehead offered his full attention. A small piece of him wondered whether Lionstar knew of Falconstorm’s visits to StarClan's Claws, and whether he knew just who the medicine cat was visiting. But Hawkstar would refrain from bringing it up, in hopes that Lionstar either did not know, or wished to smother it quietly just as he did. It became much easier to concentrate when Lionstar brought mention of his mate’s kitbrith. He felt a warmth spread through him at the thought of TreeClan’s leader experiencing the same joys of parenthood StarClan had blessed he and Frozenrain with.
The warmth in his chest was reflected in the warmth of the smile offered to Lionstar as the TreeClan leader stepped back. “Congratulations, Lionstar. May they grow to be fine TreeClanners.” He rumbled quietly as Firestar stepped forward. Turning his pale gaze forward again, Hawkstar listened politely to LightningClan’s news. Despite his… Displeasure regarding some of their recent actions, Hawkstar was glad recovery was progressing well for LightningClan. With Leafbare approaching fast, LightningClan needed as much good fortune as possible. He did make a note to ensure patrols by the LightningClan border were frequent. The Sun Stones would be a nice addition to LightningClan’s territory for Leafbare.
As Firestar stepped back, the sand colored tom glanced toward the two younger leaders before rising to his paws. “I’m certain we are all interested in hearing what NightClan and RainClan have to share with us. Let’s get StoneClan’s news out of the way, hm?” He joked in a friendly manner as he stepped forward. Centering himself of the stone, he swept the Clans with an observant stare. “StoneClan’s apprentices are progressing well through their training. In addition, Dawnblossom’s apprentice was granted his full name, and I introduce him to you all as Sandblaze for the first time.” His gaze flicked to Sandblaze as he spoke, pride reflected in those amber eyes.
“Now, not to steal the spotlight from you, Lionstar, but it is my pleasure to announce my mate Frozenrain and I are expecting our second litter.” His tail tip twitched in a demonstration of his pride, and he couldn’t help but chuckle slightly at the looks of surprise crossing the features of even his Clanmates. Surprise. He thought to himself. Waving his tail to recollect the silence, Hawkstar continued. “StoneClan’s preparations for Leafbare are in full swing. May StarClan’s favor rest with us all for this coming season.” With his piece said, the large StoneClan figure stepped backward and nodded his head to the two new leaders. leader of stoneclan and may you have the courage to scale their summits background image | harley king | Fawn Hellion Justice Silver | table by phoenix
