Falconleap
With starlight coming from her pelt, Falconleap paused in her climb. The plane of StarClan was divine and a mimicked the landscape of the valley of her birth. Stones she called home as a young kit remained her playground but this time she didn't need to fear the fall. Even if she did no pain would come to her sandy coated body, instead, she'd shake herself off and climb again.
Turning her head to scan the ground below her, pretty green eyes had been searching for days for him. Falconleap had learned early on that when cats died they sometimes had a hard time gaining their bearings in StarClan's forest. It wasn't their fault, but just a bit of challenge for their spirit to settle. Falconleap had heard his name whispered in the wind, a sort of song that traveled through the forest. It was the greater's spirits way of telling those in the forest who had recently joined them. At first, it was troubling for Falconleap to hear it. She feared each time the leaves rustled that she'd hear the name of her one of her kits whispered in the wind. However the longer she was in StarClan's forest the easier she found it to figure out how to check on her loved ones.
Tiny pools of water were like seeing down from the sky, providing her a bird's eye view of the life below. She watched Gullswoop grow up, longed to provide Crowblaze some kind of comfort on those days he was alone. Between checking in on her family Falconleap found her own parents and grandparents. She talked with them and enjoyed their company.
Falconleap learned the longer a cat was dead the stronger their ability to affect the living grew. Cats who had died hundreds of moons ago were able to call forth storms or fires, those who only recently came to the forest were barely able to walk in the plane of StarClan's forest. Falconleap had figured out how to shift the winds slightly and made the faintest of her old scent flow in the wind. She tried to do it for Vultureback's sake the longer he lived without her but she stopped after a while. She feared he would cling to her memory and forget to move on.
As time went on and Falconleap heard the dreaded name on the wind. Vultureback. A sob rocked through her because even if she lived in StarClan's forest she wasn't free from heartache. Frantic for awhile she wanted to find him and comfort him, show him how to be in StarClan's forest but alas she had to wait.
Which prompted the she-cat to climb the stones. She wished for the added height to make it easier to see him. Find him wherever he was, reunite with the tom she loved with all her heart. So when a familiar pelt caught her attention, Falconleap jumped from her perch and landed softly on the ground despite the height. Sprint toward where she saw him Falconleap didn't bother to slow down, instead, she started to call out his name."Vultureback!" A sound of longing her in her voice as sought him out.

Vultureback,Time moved more slowly here. As soon as Vultureback had woken in StarClan, any aches and pains that had plagued him during life had vanished, as if they hadn't existed at all. In a way, so had he. His scent was bound to be growing stale in the warriors' den, if they hadn't cleared out his bedding already. The massive mottled tom exhaled quietly, letting himself adjust to this new environment.
It disappointed him that Falconleap wasn't here waiting. She had not forgotten him - he was as sure of that as the sun setting each day - rather, they had been separated. It was his task, now, the task of any devoted mate, to find the she-cat he would have died for. Vultureback gazed around the forest, which was as healthy as any forest could be. Though he was appreciative of these surroundings, it didn't truly feel like home. Home, was where the river was. Home was where Falconleap was.
So the tom began to walk, large footfalls making no sound over grassy knoll and through scattered leaves.
"Vultureback!"
His heart stopped. The mottled warrior turned, pale green eyes making a wild glance from left to right, until he saw a familiar light-hued pelt streaking towards him. Vultureback started running, reduced to silence as he focused only on his task; on reaching her, his mate. It had been too long. Yet already his life with the Clan felt like moons and moons ago. As he moved close enough to see the color of Falconleap's eyes, that sensation of peace he had been missing had settled in. "Falconleap," he rumbled, voice heavy with emotion. He was not known for being particularly expressive - but with Falconleap, it was different.
Vultureback wrapped himself around her, larger frame dwarfing hers as he pressed his muzzle into her neck. Her scent filled him, and his heart rejoiced at their reunion. Hellion

FalconleapHearing her name on his tongue was enough to erase all the longing from her heart. She felt better in his company and didn't want to move away from him. She pressed every part of her closer to him and basked in the glory that was his presense. There was an indiscriable joy radiating from her heart. He was back with her and for the time being Falconleap didn't question how or why she just focused that he was with her finally, after so long. "I've missed you so much," She purred softly moving slightly to nuzzle against his cheek and press soft licks to his face. He was just as handsome as ever even if he had aged without her, not that she cared. Vultureback was her one and only, she'd love him even if he was mostly grey. She stayed near him until the butterflies of seeing him again started to drift away. "Let's go somewhere, we can sit next to the river or under a tree or even out in the open and just be together," She explained to him before taking a step away from him a playful glint in her eye. "But first you have to catch me," She purred, turning and flicking her tail and taking off. Her goal was to lead him toward her favorite place, a rocky part of StarClan's forest which had access to the water where she often watched their kits. Looking behind her she waited for him to follow. Fawn song link!

Vultureback,Falconleap took off, and she carried his heart with her. Vultureback had no choice but to follow; his soul wouldn't give him any other choice in the matter. With the faintest traces of a smile on his muzzle, the mottled warrior pursued. The starry grasses beneath his paws went ignored, and he saw not the beauty of StarClan's perfect, pristine forests or rivers or plains. He only saw the end of Falconleap's tail as she darted ahead of him, and then he only saw her eyes when she finally slowed down enough that he could catch up.
How strange, to feel truly alive only after death had claimed him. Only mildly winded (and the sensation felt distant, as if being breathless was no longer possible, simply a remnant of the life he'd once had), Vultureback brushed his coat against Falconleap's soft pale pelt. He finally took in his surroundings, feeling the rocky terrain under paw. It must have reminded her of StoneClan's territory, and it pleased the old warrior to know that his mate had found happiness here. A little bit of comfort, until they could be together again.
Nearby, was a pool of water. Vultureback approached, curious. Could they see into the Valley? It was a belief that StarClan watched over their descendants, watched over the five Clans struggling to live and thrive despite the multiple hardships. "Can you see them?" He rumbled, soft. "Our kits." Hellion

FalconleapHearing the softness in his voice, Falconleap nodded without replying, instead, she nudged him forward with her cheek to be right at the edge of the water. She lowered her head to the point her nose almost touched the water but didn't break the calm stillness that was the mirror-like reflection. Her eyes flicked upwards, a silence invitation for him to do the same. Once he did Falconleap whispered Hawkfall before touching her nose to the water. The ripple formed but at first, it was like nothing happened but then there was an image in the water. They were given a bird's eye view of Hawkfall curled tightly in his nest, a tom beside him and tucked in close. Daylight was sneaking into the warrior's den, it was clear the two were catching up on sleep. "I'm pretty sure that is Shadowdance, his mate. Hawkfall sometimes talks to me about him, they love each other and he looks happy," She told him waiting for the ripples to stop before doing the same thing again. This time Gullswoop's name was whispered. The water changed again, shifting to his Gullswoop nudging three kits around. They were able to faintly hear Gullswoop's words, Owlkit play nice with Falconkit." Falconleap smiled before moving away from the water and looking at Vultureback with a happy smile. "I always watched over you, it was hard to see you sometimes because I missed you so much so I'd watch over them when it hurt too much. I was able to watch them grow up even if I couldn't walk beside them. You raised them so well without me," She purred closing the gap between them again, this time licking his cheek before resting her head on his shoulder. "I am so proud of you," She told him softly as she tucked in close to him. Fawn

Vultureback,A sense of closure breathed through Vultureback's body as he looked at the son he knew so little of. Hawkfall's destiny had lied with StoneClan; that did not make the goodbye, the departure, any less of an ache in his chest. To know that he was happy, that his faith in Hawkfall finding his own path in life had been rewarded, was a gift Vultureback knew not how to repay.
His son's choice of mate didn't warrant so much as a frown. As long as Hawkfall was happy, Vultureback did not care the gender. Instead, he was proud of his son's ability to be true to himself, even if that meant standing against the current.
The ripples changed, showing one of their youngest - trying to corral their grandkits into behaving well. Vultureback's heart beat with warmth; his one regret was not living long enough to meet them. To get to know their scents, and speak of Falconleap to those who did not have the pleasure of knowing her. Vultureback felt her press close, and he responded to her affection in kind, laying his broad muzzle against the space between her ears.
"I could have done more," Vultureback rumbled. "But I did not know how." The situation he spoke of was Crowblaze. Whispering his son's name into the pool, this revealed an image of the dark tabby warrior laying in the shadows of ferns, his expression still as intense and proud as Vultureback remembered. If Falconleap had been watching... Then she knew they had argued. That her death had hit Crowblaze the hardest. Even harder than Bitternwing and Gullswoop. Vultureback exhaled. "I do not know how to make him let go of his pain. I fear it will spread."
To their grandkits. Hellion

Falconleap
Falconleap wasn't surprised when her dear mate whispered their fiercest kit's name. He had been her greatest worry. A cat she often checked up on simply because he had such strong emotions behind his mask of intensity. A trait that puzzled her because both of his parents were inclined to be calm and collected. But in retrospect, Falconleap had left her birth clan for a tom she loved in such a daring way. Perhaps that rubbed off on him.
Easily pushing aside the question of why her son was that way, Falconleap focused her attention on Vultureback. The concern in his voice was present, she too shared the same sentiment, but Falconleap held a deeper more sorrowful emotion as well.
Guilt.
She had been the one to start it all. No point trying to deny it. It was her love for Vultureback that empowered her to leave StoneClan. It was her devotion to Vultureback that made her join RainClan. Her stories of StoneClan were the fuel for Hawkfall's departure. The fact she had not one but two litters of half-clan kits only added to the anger of Swanfeather, thus instigating the war.
Everything painful in Crowblaze's life had been caused by his mother. A pain Falconleap tried every day to forget but Vultureback's words brought them back in full force.
"He should blame me for everything. I caused this. He has every right to be angry" She told him plainly, her voice teetering on the edge of an emotional hitch.
"I should have protected him better. Fought harder to stick around to show him that the cruelty of the world was nothing compared to the love around him." Her words faded into softness as her eyes drifted to the water that still held the gateway to their son. "I hope he will see that love in his kin. One day realizes that dealing with the hurt will be worth it. Because his pain make him reckless and he will only join as sooner and as his mother, I don't want him here until his fur is grey and his heart filled with happiness of a life well spent,"
As her statement fell from her maw, the emotional release did as well. She buried her nose into Vultureback's neck again and took comfort in him like she always did. He would forever be her rock, her anchor. Fawn note: i had tears

Vultureback,"You are too hard on yourself," Vultureback at once countered, gazing solemnly into his mate's eyes. He could see the moons of guilt and sadness built up inside them, and it made his own heart bristle in protest. "It was your time to join StarClan. For all our son's strength, he uses it most to push others away. That is no one's fault."
It was how Crowblaze chose to react to the world around him. Instead of with patience and acceptance, their son bared his teeth, hostile and unyielding in his stance against others. Forgiveness would be Crowblaze's saving grace, if there was enough time yet to turn Crowblaze from this self-destructive, lonely path.
"Can we send him a sign? Remind him that he is still loved. That you watch over him, and wish him to be happy." It was a small request, but Vultureback was aware that it may be asking too much. He did not know how StarClan chose to appear to the living when they did; would they allow this small favor? Or was this part of their punishment for breaking the warrior code? Watching their son isolate himself, even in a Clan surrounded by kin.
"So much damage has been done," Vultureback rumbled. "To RainClan. I do not want our son to be part of the problem, keeping the Clan from moving on." He had made it clear from early on that family was incredibly important to him. However, that didn't mean he was not a dedicated, loyal warrior. He wanted RainClan to prosper as much as his own kits. Falconleap
Her ears tucked back at his words. Vultureback had a talent for soothing the hurt in her chest. Oh, how she missed him and his comfort.
Continuing to press into him, she found him even more comforting as he reminded her that it wasn't anyone's fault. Crowblaze made his choices it was up to him to learn how to deal with them and perhaps one day recover from them.
Prompted by her mate to send a sign to their lonely son, Falconleap nodded. Stepping away from Vultureback, Falconleap moved toward the pool of water once again. She spoke his name into the pool and waited as appeared in the water again.
"You will eventually be able to send him signs, the longer you are here," She told him before blowing across the water, making ripples appear. In the living world, a breeze stirred up, finding it's way toward Crowblaze carrying the softest hint of his parent's scent.
Once the ripple faded away, Falconleap returned her attention to her mate with a nod of agreement to his words. She too wished that RainClan could recover and their kits be apart of that healing.
