The calico apprentice was restless, pacing the warrior's den in search of a familar face , which much to her delight she soon found. "Mama! Daddy!" she almost wailed as she bolted towards her parents and attempted to bury herself in Duskflower's warm fur like she had done as a kit only a few short moons ago. "It's awful Mama Kestrelpaw has this rotten little she pest following him around like a lovesick mouse, She is horrible and he doesn't even see it, what am i supposed to do Daddy? I cannot make him see that she is not right for him"
The rant ended as quickly as it started with the young she cat focusing all her attention on the large protective form of her father, gazing at him with pleading eyes, she wanted him to tell her he agreed that Sootpaw was a pain and that he would speak to her brother about this negetive influence.
She begged to Starclan that her mother did not just pass this up as kithood jealously, even though Meadowpaw had made her opinion on Sootpaw very clear from day one. Meadowpaw felt lost, angry and greif striken all at once, while Kestrelpaw was still very much alive, it was her fear of losing her best friend to another that kept her clinging to the hope her parents would back her up.
"If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try"
Eagletalon's plans to find a warm patch of sunlight and lazily groom his mate's fur were put on hold, by a wailing calico she-cat rushing in to find them. He greeted Meadowpaw with a surprised nuzzle between the ears, then patiently sat back to listen as a barrage of words tumbled out of his daughter's mouth like a rockslide. Sootpaw? He'd have thought she was more concerned about Kestrelpaw's little journey with Silverglade; StarClan knew he had prepared words of solace for both Duskflower and Meadowpaw whenever they expressed worries over Kestrelpaw's temporary trip.
His son would come home. If Silverglade could make the journey with a kit scarcely old enough to walk, she could make the journey with a semi-grown apprentice at her side with ease.
He glanced at Duskflower; did she understand what was bothering Meadowpaw? Eagletalon believed he had an idea. Their kits were close, especially after the Greencough incident, and Sootpaw's friendship with Kestrelpaw must have felt like a wedge driven between Meadowpaw and her brother. Eagletalon resisted the urge to chuckle; she'd be mad if she thought he was laughing at her, so he kept a straight face.
It wasn't that Eagletalon found her problems petty - quite the opposite - but he was guilty of still appreciating the fact that she needed him. She was an apprentice now, but she'd always be his little kit. "I know it's strange, to let Kestrelpaw spend so much time with another she-cat your own age. But no matter what happens, Kestrelpaw will always be your brother. He won't forget that in a hurry." Eagletalon licked one of her ears, giving Duskflower the chance to speak. She was probably better at parenting than he was; she'd successfully raised two daughters. --- Word Count: 290 Words Tags:SilverKahani Notes:
Logic, was her father's response and immediately she fixed him with as much of a glare she could muster, the tom was her beloved Daddy and she couldn't stay mad for long.
" But Daddy, she is simply awful and yeah he's my brother, but he is my best friend and Sootpaw just waltzed in and is putting that at risk... I know she doesnt have any siblings but she can't just take mine of me, Can't you do something Daddy" the she cat whined softly, nuzzling into her father's fur with all the emotional baggage of a cat moons her senior. Meadowpaw then fixex her light green gaze on her mother, the older she cat would know what to do, how to handle what was happening and if she didn't well then. Meadowpaw would have to visit Aunt Dawnbloosom or her sister's or even Sandpaw might know something, a herb or something to get rid of this aweful feeling in the pit of her stomach, the fear she might lose her best friend to some other she cat, she was his sister, his blood and noone would ever take her place by his side, not even Sootpaw.
"If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try."

If Duskflower was surprised by her daughter's sudden appearance, she didn't show it. Indeed the she-cat had been monitoring the situation and knew this was going to happen sooner or later. It was good for Kestrelpaw to have friends that encouraged him, but considering how close her kits were it was also only natural for Meadowpaw to be upset of the entire thing. She waited with her usual patience while Meadowpaw talked herself out before she pulled her over with a paw around her kit's smaller body before she started calmly grooming her upset daughter with gentle licks between her ears. Quiet, soothing purrs escaped the calico she-cat and for a moment she said nothing as she curled around her half-grown daughter and offered comfort.
After long moment of silence where she continued to comfort Meadowpaw, Duskflower finally offered her own advice. "Meadowpaw tell me, is it that you believe Sootpaw will hurt your brother or that he's not spending as much time with you? I understand you're worried, my love, since you two are so close, but it is normal for him to want to make friends. Aren't you making friends? Or...is there something specific that she's doing that you think will hurt Kestrelpaw? And it's not a reason because you don't like her. Won't you tell me?" She wasn't dismissing her daughter's worries, more that Duskflower was making Meadowpaw think and explain her reasons for feeling how she did. If Sootpaw was doing something harmful to Kestrelpaw, she would step in, but otherwise she wanted her son to have friends.
Anywhere you go let me go too. That's all I ask of you.

80 Moons // Tom // Senior Warrior // StoneClan
She wanted him to swoop in and make everything better, just as he'd always done. Unfortunately, there were some situations where as much as Eagletalon wanted to step in and fix whatever was troubling her, he had to let things be. Eagletalon smiled ruefully, listening as Duskflower said her piece; she's good. She knows how to get to the heart of the matter. The senior warrior watched his mate approvingly. Raising Smokestorm and Mistcloud before their litter had given Duskflower an insight into parenthood that Eagletalon couldn't claim to have.
"I know it doesn't seem like it right now," said Eagletalon, "but things are rarely as bad as they first look. You've been worried about this for a while, haven't you?" Emotional wounds that were sat on and ignored were emotional wounds that tended to fester. If this was the case, Eagletalon wished she'd come to them sooner; nothing could turn back time, though, so he was resolved to do what he could with the situation at hand. --- Word Count: 168 Words Tags:KahaniSilver Notes: Short, sorry about that!
Meadowpaw was in hysterics by the time her mother spoke, gently reminding the apprentice of the true cause of her dislike. " I fear she will take him away from us, that he will regard her as the most important thing and that we don't matter anymore Mama, I have never liked her, that is true, she stole Kestrelpaw's attention when we were kits and she is far to clumsy and annoying to ever fool me. Kestrelpaw is your son but he is also a tom, i fear she will turn him on me, on us" she continued to speak, angry that her parent's were not immediately fixing it like she wanted them to but at the same time a part of her knew they were right.
" My relationship with my brother is in danger Mama and you and Daddy don't seem to get the seriousness" She added, frowning at her parents, light green eyes flicking between her similar coated mother and her father, her undisputed hero.
" What do I do, how do I fix it? I love him so much and he is my best friend, he is all I have, the only apprentice I can stand." She wailed at her parents, buring her face in her mother's fur, looking for the comforting licks and words only Duskflower could offer. " Is it wrong that I want to have something that is just mine?my relationship with my brother is sacred and she just... throws rabbit poo all over it, no regard for my feelings" the rant was not exactly using intelligent valid points that Meadowpaw would normally use but she missed her sibling and she had not gotten to see him before he left, only Sootpaw. " I miss him Daddy, can't you bring him home?" she yowled at her father, reminding herself of the kithood antics she used to have, making sure Uncle Hawkstar's nest was intirely kit approved.
"If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try."
Oh Meadowpaw... when will you learn that Soot is not an enemy to be crushed but an ally to cherish in torturing your brother?
