Juliet was rasping heavily, feeling air scrape down her throat like grit. The fire had happened a bit too fast for her liking and she had run for the hills. Well, the forest. She could tell with each burning breath that something was very wrong inside of her. It must've been the smoke - the black air coiling inside of her lungs and piercing at the flesh with its toxic fangs.
After seeing the blaze burn across the moorland, Juliet remembered vividly fleeing across the scent marks - making a bee line for the thick forest. The fire seemed to chase her, hungry for more things to devour. She remembered rushing across flowers briefly before plunging back under thick foliage and had stammered to a halt beside some sort of brook. Unable to smell anything through the acidic taste in her nose and mouth, Juliet had no clue where she was. The she-cat worried she had fled too far north, praying that the owner of violent cat-like scent wouldn't find her.
Black spots darted across her eyes and her legs grew wobbly, forcing the she-cat to lie down. The roar of flames sounded distant but Juliet still tried to force herself to move. Her eyes were watering and each breath stung, but her legs wouldn't respond.
Exhaling heavily, and wincing at the effort, Juliet slowly rolled to her side. She coughed heavily and harshly for a few moments before being able to breathe again. "Sod it." The siamese grunted. "It'd be less painful for that creature to eat me now." She closed her blue eyes and attempted to rest, no longer caring for her surroundings.

into that bright world to I go The fire leaked into Treeclan's territory, and Fogsight knew it would cause trouble for her clan. Smoke had been the first warning, a lucky patrol catching sight of it. Although it appeared to have contained itself to the wildflower clearing, she felt unease prickle along her spine. In her mind as she walked, she could trace the pathways her clan would have to adjust with the now burning land. It wasn't a lot of land lost, she mused, but it would still result in hunting trouble. Trouble they didn't need came the next sour thought. With permission from her leader, Fogsight was now heading towards the clearing, her reasoning that she will be able to memorize all the details and bring them back to her clan. That information then could be used to see if they need to get more land from another clan, or if they can work around the damaged areas. Going alone was not a part of the plan, but Fogsight knew her strengths and pressed on. Besides, when would she get the chance to see fire again? Her curiosity swelled at the idea of knowing something. Learn its weakness and you will succeed always, she believed. Getting closer to the source, the air was thick. It wasn't unmanageable, since the warrior already had to work harder to keep up with her taller clanmates. But it was thick, and warning signs flashed in the back of her mind. I'll go a little further, Fogsight decided. Close enough to see where the fire stopped. As she started to cross a small brook, something distinctly cat-shaped caught her eye. Opening her mouth to smell, the warrior hummed in surprise. A loner! Not wanting to startle the she-cat awake, Fogsight moved careful towards her. " Hello, are you alright?" She asked when she was close enough to see the cat fully. She must've been chased out of her land by the fire, She thought, worry bubbling up. fogsight of treeclan | words: 325 | notes: @medusa Fawn (for lionstar mention)

With her mouth stained with the taste of smoke, Juliet couldn't smell the she-cat at a distance. Her coarse wheezes as her chest heaved up and down blocked out the sounds of Fogsight's pawsteps as well. Needless to say she was taken by surprise at the sudden appearance.
Her crystalline blue eyes flung open as soon as the first word left Fogsight's mouth, her pupils swiveling to look at her. Juliet briefly tried to lift her head to a more graceful stance but her skull felt as heavy as stone and she quickly played off the pathetic attempt as a shuffle to get more comfortable.
"I'm spiffing, love, though I'm afraid I might be dead - ain't no angels here, unless you're deceiving me." Quick as a viper, Juliet thought up of a cocky retort - attempting to hide the fact that she couldn't summon the strength to move. It would probably have been successful, if it weren't for the gritty texture to her usually clear voice and the terrible coughing fit that attacked her after.
After feeling as though she had just coughed up her own lungs, Juliet's ear crooked out of nervousness. "So, what are you doing here on this lovely da-" She broke off into another coughing fit and painfully cleared her throat, "-day?"

into that bright world to I go The compliment caught the warrior off guard, as sharp as it was through the smoke-stained voice, resulting in the warrior coughing politely into her chest fur. She never knew how to respond to such words, no matter who they came from. To keep her focus on the situation at hand, Fogsight turned her attention to studying the loner. She had wandering into her clan's territory due to the fire, she could clearly see that now. The voice gave it away too. And the awkward shifting, that this she-cat had tried to cover up as just adjusting herself to a comfortable position. Fogsight flicked her tail in thought. As much as she would like the loner to leave, and not be a trespasser, she clearly was hurt from the smoke and would need help first. " I am Fogsight, member of Treeclan, whose land you are currently on." She replied to the question, cutting straight to the point. " Would you like some water for your throat? It sounds painful." Fogsight gestured towards the brook that was unfortunately too far for where the loner had collapsed. Her question was left as an invitation for help. In good conscious, she could not let the she-cat leave without getting some assistance. If she did not want it, Fogsight decided, then I'll chase her out. @medusa | words: 217 | notes: I love how Juliet talks btw

Juliet smirked in triumph as the she-cat coughed into her chest fur - she loved any and all reactions she got from her flirty ways, even though she has been insulted for her comments in the past.
"I am Fogsight, member of Treeclan, whose land you are currently on. Would you like some water for your throat? It sounds painful."
The siamese's ear twitched as she heard the name, which sounded strange to her ears. Fogsight? Does that mean she can't see very well? Her tail twitched against the grassy ground in amusement. These groups of cats seemed quite odd from what she has so far seen.
Now, the question. Slowly, Juliet turned her head so she could watch the tantalizing bubbles and gurgles that echoed from the water. The dryness and death-like taste that coated her throat was practically screaming at her to drink the clear, cleansing liquid.
Pretending her mind was elsewhere, Juliet lifted a forelimb and lazily batted at a leaf in front of her nose as a test. The second her paw lifted, she could feel a soft pain in her chest which intensified as she moved it forward - black spots licking at her vision's edges once more. She let her paw flop down again, struggling to conceal the heavy breaths the simple task had demanded.
"Well, that does sound nice, I guess I'll have to get some later." Juliet licked her dry lips, unwilling to show unattractive weakness in front of the pretty cream she-cat. Damnit juliet, worry about being cool later ► kaigra ◄

into that bright world to I go To say the warrior stomped in frustration would be a small lie, but Fogsight's stance did shift to harden her resolve. Her physical self may not cut an opposing shadow, but she was clan-born and raised, which gave her training that made her strength noticeable. She did not want to chase the she-cat out, especially if she was hurt, but her words had not explained the situation at hand correctly. "Young one," she began, ears flicking at the fact a name had not been given yet for the siamese cat in front of her. "This is clan territory, and it is my duty to my clan to protect these borders. If you do not want water now, then you will need to leave." It was harsh, but the warrior's duty was to her clan first and foremost. Kindness had it's place though, she reminded herself while examining the little spot of nature around them. The fire had stopped at a safe distance, unable to be seen only heard. It crackled angrily at its border, like an angry elder woken up by too many curious kit paws. Fogsight turned her attention back to the loner. She would be safe if she chose to find a better place to rest, Fogsight determined. "I can help you find a place to rest to gather your strength back that is not on clan land. But you can't stay here. It is not safe."@medusa | words: 239 | notes: n/a

Juliet listened to Fogsight in silence, a few huffy twitches of her tail the only indication that she was listening. Breathing in, she exhaled deeply - shoving herself to her paws with her eyes firmly shut against the pounding headache the movement caused.
After a few heartbeats, she opened her blue eyes again and stared evenly at Fogsight; unperturbed by the, assumed, hidden threat. Taking her time, she looked around her, studying the brook as she thought. Juliet kneaded the ground with her paws, swiveling her head to look back at the clan cat, and stood.
"Aaaand, if... I don't wish to leave? The scenery around here is quite... captivating." She glanced pointedly at Fogsight up and down, like a tom would, as she walked past the silver she-cat towards the brook. The siamese crouched down, her tail curled highly to stop herself from falling in, and took a few laps of the refreshing water. The cold liquid felt like a balm to her throat and after a few heartbeats, Juliet sat back up again.
"Besides, this territory is safe. Safer than what's beyond your border." She looked towards the mountains, towards where that... demon cat lived. Juliet saw it once, when it was eating, and looked upon the memory as one would do to meeting Death itself. Damnit juliet, worry about being cool later ► kaigra ◄

into that bright world to I go Rather than her rather flustered response to the first compliment, the second pointed gesture caused the fur on Fogsight's spine to raise with frustration. The attention was confusing, twisting her belly into a knot. Most the toms in her clan kept their distance or did not engage long enough to show any interest in her. Yet here this loner was, still unnamed, giving her attention that very clearly said she was interested. And she was a she-cat. Could a she-cat even fall in love with another she-cat? The question didn't have an answer come up easily, especially as her own eyes strayed to watching the siamese bend to take a drink. Juliet wasn't necessarily unattractive, she supposed. Her form was more lean than a clan-cat. Even Rainclan cats and Lightningclan cats, who rain across the moors like shadows were broader and more muscled. Yet her coloring was pretty, and her smile was nice to see. Fogsight huffed to herself, focused back as Juliet spoke up again. "Besides, this territory is safe. Safer than what's beyond your border." "Yes, that is true. For clan cats." With a tilt of her head and a flick of her tail, Fogsight gestured to a spot further up the creek. "If you head up there and follow the creek towards the stones there is a spot on the other side of the scent marking you can be while you rest. Demon won't reach you there. It is too enclosed for its liking. Go there, and I hope you will not be here by the time I return with a patrol. Good day." She waved a faint goodbye with her tail, turning to return to camp. She had seen all she needed of the fire, and of the loner that sent her thoughts spinning in an unwelcome manner. @medusa | words: 302 | notes: sowed some seeds of fog's sexuality confusion. if you wanna post to wrap it up go for it c:
