Summarized in a single word: study. From the moment he was born, it was clear that this tom would take after his father more than his mother – though given the leaner frames of his parents, the source of his solid build is something of a mystery. He has more of his father’s larger frame than his mother’s petite and slender form. The distinctive, dark stripes of his father are overlaid on his mother’s short white fur, but his eyes are, to his mother, his most important feature. Clear blue, they hold no trace of the crimson shared by Cherrypool and her brother. But eyes cannot foretell the future. Like every other kit, Leopard’s coordination initially leaves much to be desired, but as he gains control over his limbs, traces of the predator lurking beneath his fur occasionally shine through.

As if to compensate for every other blood relation, leopard is the loving family member that his mother has always wanted. Born in the dark with only two she-cats, one albino and the other her medic, for company, he was perhaps destined to form a close bond with cherrypool; indeed, unlike so many others, his piercing blue gaze unflinchingly meets her deep red with nothing but adoration and love in their depths.

Already, this young tom is showing signs of growing into a headstrong and stubborn adult. He enjoys doing things his way, and barring a few exceptions from whom he will take advice and constructive criticism, nothing quite irritates him like being told what to do by someone else. Once he has his mind set on an idea, it would take a miracle to convince him to change it. leopard was born with a strong need to make order out of chaos, and armed with an innate sense of right and wrong (though his compass doesn't point directly north) he will follow an ethical code of his own design with the same fierce conviction with which he does everything else.

Like a wounded animal, a lone albino queen slunk off through the pre-dawn darkness toward the shelter and privacy of the tunnels on the fringes of lightningclan territory. There, in the place where her mate died and in the company of the one who could not save him, she gave birth to a lone kitten, a small tom who, despite his mother's most desperate wishes, would never quite escape the darkness into which he had been born. In those early days, he was hidden away in the shadowed corners of the nursery with the wariness of a fugitive, for the new mother understood with far more clarity than she ever wanted the danger of her brother's influence; a charming feline who walked right out of a nightmare, whiteshade would have taken her kit and carefully molded him into a shade of himself for his own amusement. And so, leopard spent the first few weeks of his life like a poorly kept secret, cloaked in the shadow of his mother's fear while his uncle, knowing that cherrypool could not hide forever, humored her and did not pry. Little did he know how completely everything would change.
