Name: Birdsong
Age: 36 moons
Gender: She cat
Clan: RainClan
Rank: Warrior
Description: Birdsong is very much on the small side, even for a Rainclan cat. However, she has a very lithe build which has come from moons of swimming and chasing after fish in the water. The upper part of her body (back, tail, head/neck) is the basic, brown with black striping, while her legs, underbelly, and chest are white. Birdsong's fur is short in length and quick/easy to dry after she gets out of the water. The majority of her face is white, the only tabby markings she has are on the upper part of her head and ears, whereas the chin and bridge of her nose are white, eventually connecting to her white chest fur. To bring it all together, Birdsong has long white whiskers and pale, amber eyes.
Bird. for her brown tabby fur.
Song. for being open to speak her opinions and thoughts.
Description Summary: A small, brown and white tabby she cat with amber eyes.
Personality: Birdsong is a very sweet and laid back cat. Though she is still young, she tends to understand a lot for a cat of her age. She is wise beyond her years and appears to be rather wise as well. She is the kind of cat that will go out of her way to help others and try to be at least acquaintances with everyone in her clan. She has a high respect for all authority and the senior members of all clans, as they have 'been there, done that' kind of experiences. She is always trying to learn new things and be better in the majority of what her clan needs - especially hunting.
When it comes to swimming and fishing, Birdsong is really a fish out of water. Her second home is the river and when she is not on patrol, she is probably lounging around the stream in the camp or out touching up on her fishing skills. She takes a lot of pride in the water and feels like it's one of her major purposes. Her small and lithe build is toned with the muscle that allows her to be successful in this hunting technique, so she thrives with it. Birdsong is also very passionate when it comes to teaching the youth of the clan. While she has never been a mother herself or really even thought about the perks of having kits, she loves to mentor and take the younger cats under her wing to show them the ways of the water.
However, like all cats, Birdsong is far from perfect. This she cat has a sharp tongue about her and though she may have a soft spot when it comes to the youth, she does not have such for older cats that should know better than to make silly mistakes or disrespect the other cats. Birdsong is blunt and quick-to-the-point. She isn't the one to go to when you want to be talked up at something you obviously aren't great at or try and pull pranks on, as you will get an ear full of thorns and harsh language. However, this is an advantage as well, because she is honest and open with her opinion, not being afraid to state her opinion or stand up for what she believes in.
Still, Birdsong is a kind, outgoing cat with a lot of potential. However, she has a lack of tolerance for older cats who are out of line, as well as those who disrespect authority. While she will strike up a conversation with just about anyone, she is bound to the warrior code and Starclan, thinking highly of the laws and ways of the life of the clans, and is bound to give an earful (and possibly a shredded ear) to anyone who dares to debate it with her or wrong her in anyway. She is big on loyalty and is very unforgiving to those who betray her in any way, shape, or form.
History: Birdkit was born as the runt in the litter of three other kittens to the couple Otterheart and Minktooth. Her siblings were both tom-kits that would be known to the world as Black-kit and Troutkit. Birdkit was easily the smallest and most fragile of the litter, even enough to worry the medicine cat that it would be a struggle for her to make it through her first couple moons of life. The little she kit was prone to getting sick much more often than her brothers and her life was in danger up until she was three and a half moons old. Finally, around this time her immune system got stronger and she was able to put on some weight, beginning to wrestle with her brothers and really experience a better type of life.
Growing up with two brothers was really what brought on the stubborn and straight-forward nature of the she cat. When they were finally old enough to become apprentices, Birdpaw was in normal health, but still remained quite a bit smaller than the rest of the cats in her clan - and other clans once she experienced her first gathering. Her small size never got her down though, she had a big personality and was quick to tell others like it was, rather than letting them walk all over her or speak to her like she was a kit. It was for this reason that she got the respect she had wanted. From being a sickly kit in the nursery that everyone always babied and look down on, she was able to redeem herself and prove she was worthy and just as capable as every other cat, even in her small size when she began to take on the abilities of an apprentice.
Birdpaw had two mentors throughout her apprenticeship. The first was a well-respected, senior warrior called Raventhorn. He was a husky, black tom that despite his rocky appearance was able to show her that she was more than just the runt of her litter or shadow of her larger brothers. He taught her to stand up for herself and speak her mind, rather than being outspoken by the larger and more seasoned cats of the clan. Unfortunately, around her eighth moon, Raventhorn was injured in a fox attack that left the right side of his face heavily damaged. He lost vision in his right eye as well as his ear being damaged beyond repair and losing the hearing as well. Already being in his late 70 moons, he chose to retire to the elders den.
Moving on from the retirement of her mentor, Birdpaw was given a much younger and rowdy mentor - a tortoiseshell she cat by the name of Speckledpelt. She was a slender and sleek she cat, much similar to the build of Birdpaw. Speckledpelt was much the opposite of Raventhorn, having much more energy and tolerance for danger and trouble. However, the balance of the two mentors taught her a lot and by the time she was able to become a warrior, she was a character of her very own. Intelligent, stubborn, and ready to take on the world before her.
The first moons of her warrior life was basic and nothing to special happened. Raventhorn joined Starclan when she was around twenty-six moons and almost as a distraction from the old toms death, she was given her first apprentice. At twenty-nine moons, she became the mentor to an average sized tom named Salmonpaw. The gray and white tom was hot-headed and arrogant and mentoring him was a struggle for the young warrior. He constantly argued, disobeyed, and got himself (and Birdsong as well) in a lot of trouble. However, as he got older and learned from his own experiences, he would become a fine warrior in his time. When Birdsong was thirty-four moons, Salmonpaw graduated from his apprenticeship and earned the warrior name of Salmonstrike.
Now at thirty-six moons old, Birdsong is living the life of a normal warrior, taking the days one by one and passing on her knowledge of the world while still learning everything she can in the process.
