Name: Russetfall
Age: 88 moons
Gender: tom
Clan: LightningClan
Rank: Senior Warrior
Picture: Russetfall
Description:
A tall, well-built tom with thick muscles that run the length of his body and move smoothly under his dark russet pelt. His fur is short and fine, a russet red in color, that has begun to grey along his muzzle and chest from age. His long legs make him taller than most, but he's physically a lean tom made for ambushing and striking quickly. He has very prominent features, sharp and angular and foxlike, and large amber eyes that are always intensely focused on whoever or whatever has his attention. A faded scar runs the length of his head, running from between his hears to around the base of his left ear and towards his chin. This is barely visible now.
Description Summary: A tall russet colored tom with amber eyes.
Personality: Loyal and honest, Russetfall is a calm and capable warrior. He's proven himself to his clan several times and will continue to prove himself until his time as a warrior is passed. He's proud and respectful, level-headed enough to handle even the most impudent apprentice or disrespectful warrior without raising his voice to them. One knows when times are dire, because Russetfall will raise his voice to be heard. He is a cat one should listen to, perceptive and thoughtful, and one that offers council and confidence wherever it is needed.
He's warm and friendly, a devoted mate and father. Loving and gentle and generally happy with his life. However, since Firestar became deputy and then leader it seems as though she has less and less time for her doting mate, which has slowly made him fall into a strong depression. It seems as though all her attention is on the clan, and none of it is for her family. He tries to get her to relax when he can, to spend time with him, but fears it to be a losing battle.
A gentle soul, Russetfall tends to look after those around him, and feels strongly in everything he does. Passionate and feirce, he is one you want on your side in any sort of battle. Though to those that disrupt his peaceful clan life he can be a viscious, even vindictive opponent and is a gifted tactician when the occasion calls for it. He's good at planning out battles, and good at making sure as few cats get injured as possible. He believes in StarClan, and believes that most situations can be handled without bloodshed, if handled correctly.
History: Born to Silversky and Gorsetoes, Russetkit and his sister Lizardkit were the latch ditch effort of Silversky to keep her mate with her after several failed attempts to start their family. He learned over time that they'd been a happy couple up until it was time to start a family, and then Silversky miscarried her first litter, stillbirthed her second. It would anger him as he became older, how little his father thought of his mother that her inability to carry kits to term would turn him away from his mate. But with their coming the trouble was over, at least at first. Russetkit took after his grandsire Redfoot, while his sister favored their mother in looks. He was rough and tough and liked to play, and generally made a nuisance of himself underpaw of the various warriors while he was still too young to know any better. His father never seemed to like him much and he was often scolded and hissed at for the littlest of things. His sister was scolded less, but their father didn't seem to like her much either. Gorsetoes had fallen out of love with Silversky, and wanted nothing more to do with the family he'd made. It broke Silversky's heart, and made Russetkit hate the tom that sired him.
As an apprentice Russetpaw was supported by his mother and sister equally. He was given to a snarky tom called Sandfoot for his mentor, who could keep up with his rough and tumble ways, but also could teach him about loyalty. His formitive years were shaped by this tom. He learned everything he could from this tom, and eventually would come to regard the tom as more a father figure than Gorsetoes ever was. Eventually, his father was lost to a battle between LightningClan and StoneClan, not that he particularly cared. He continued to work hard despite everything. On the eve they were to be given their warrior names Russetpaw lost his sister in a battle for the Sunstones. Russetpaw earned his warrior name that day for his tactics in falling on unsuspecting cats and keeping them occupied until the warriors could arrive. Always keeping an eye on the battle at large while he helped where he could. He would be called Russetfall from then on. After some consideration, and a heartfelt plea from his mother, Lizardpaw was sent to StarClan as Lizardheart, due to her true and coragious warrior's heart. Her death his him harder than his father's, but still he chose to press on with life.
Shortly after becomming a full warrior Russetfall was given his first apprentice, a pretty calico she-cat named Firepaw. She was playful and spirited, and he enjoyed her company very much. As time went on he saw her spirit turn serious and began to respect her as a warrior. He had enjoyed training her, and was proud to have called her his apprentice. When she became Firesky he couldn't have been more proud of her, and happily celebrated her success with her. He enjoyed being with her, enjoyed her company and her laughter. Her name suited, and that was enough for him. Soon, however, the tom found himself drawn more and more to Firesky's side, both in times of hardship and peace. He spent time with her, hunted with her, worried over her, shared things with her that he had never shared with anyone before. He fell in love with her, deeply and truly.
He became her mate not long after this, and the pair was happy. But then she got her first apprentice and Russetfall was pushed to the wayside for a bit. She always came back to him, and he always understood about the duties of a mentor and a warrior, but it made him sad and anxious. Eventually the couple would come together to have a litter of kits, two beautiful healthy kits they called Wildkit and Maplekit. The pair would grow into healthy adults and becme Wildcall and Mapleheart. He supported them throughout their lives, and supported his mate as she slowly made the journey from warrior to Deputy.
Time spent together was always a hard-won battle, and something the tom felt increasingly sad over. He loved Firesky with all his heart, but sometimes it seemed as though she were drifting away from him. He never questioned her loyalty to him or to their family, he only wanted a little more time with her. And then she became leader, and the world shifted again.
These days Russetfall is an accomplished senior warrior, and spends most of his time helping in whatever way he can. He's had several apprentices in his time, and often can be found passing the time with one of his now-grown offspring. He tends to butt heads with his son, but never really stops loving him.
With every life comes a new beginning, but with every lost life another peace of his mate is gone. It kills him to know she dies over and over, that he can do nothing to ease that burden. For that reason, he's very protective of Firestar, despite her being fully capable of protecting herself.
