Scrap is a slender she-cat with a white base and splotchy tabby-ginger and black patches of color spread over nearly every limb. Her face is distinctively marked, both eyes are rimmed in black, the color mixing into the ginger on her forehead and ears. Her eyes are a light yellow.
She seems the picture of innocence, with her long snowy whiskers and sweet, small pink nose - but the age-old saying still rings true. Looks can be deceiving; if her coat colors are anything to go by, she's a little bit of everything. A fiery soul with the fierceness of a tiger - or so the ginger tabby stripes would suggest. A dark-minded, blunt personality to match the black spots, and the overall base of pure white—a certain clarity of spirit. What you see with Scrap is what you get. She never pretends to be anything else.
Once she has shed the sleek looks of a kitten, Scrap will mature into a willowy warrioress with noticeably tall ears and a long tail. Her legs look perpetually slender, tapering into small paws that somehow manage to keep her balanced when she's gamboling around the forest like a fox in a frenzy. Scrap will become fairly versatile; though not the strongest, she will make her strikes count - and if she can ever get a handle on her temper and her loud mouth, she'll turn into an acceptable hunter.
Description Summary: Short-furred calico with pale yellow eyes and tall ears.
Personality:
Positives+Driven, family-oriented, independentWhen Scrap sets her mind to something, she
will accomplish it. Not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’, Scrap sinks her teeth onto an idea, a goal, a plan of action, and will see it through to the end. Of course, this is presently limited by her age (and the fact that she can still be picked up by her scruff), but as she gets older - and a certain disregard for the rules comes into play - Scrap will find herself more often IN trouble than out of it.
There are only a few things worth fighting and dying for, in Scrap’s mindset. Family. If you turn your back on family, then you’re no worse than pond-scum; if you can’t trust your littermates, your parents, your offspring - then something’s seriously wrong with you or them. Either way, Scrap is adamant about holding tightly to the bonds of siblinghood she feels with Snake (and Tadpole to some degree), and will defend him to her dying breath.
Independence is second nature to her. This is a she-cat that will grow up marching to the beat of her own drum; she’s bad at following the flock, at just ‘going with the flow’, when her heart and head often direct her elsewhere. She’ll go off by herself to do as she pleases, and is often faced with frustration and
pure annoyance if thwarted or made to do something else.
Trust me, you’ll know when she’s annoyed. It’s like a heatwave - her temper can be felt by all in close proximity to this little spitfire. With any luck, they’ll get out of the way before the heat gets worse.
Negatives-Loudmouthed, temperamental, rude, obstinate, detached, suspiciousIf you wanted an apology, Scrap is quite literally the last cat in the forest to ever give you one. She is unapologetically rude, preferring a brash but honest approach to life despite being so young. She hates trickery and manipulation, and if you’re
really getting on her nerves - the claws will come out.
‘Feisty’ doesn’t cover it. She has a temper on a hairpin trigger, and no shyness whatsoever about telling you
exactly what she thinks. Like her claws, her words are sharp - unless you’re her brother, Snake. Only her kinship with Snake will soften her acerbic bite, and she’s even likely to be caught giving her brother a pep talk if the world has got him down.
She’s not
good at it, but with enough effort - it’ll work out. And if it doesn’t, she’ll just beat up her problems until they bleed or admit defeat.
Because of Scratch’s betrayal, Scrap has a considerable distrust of ‘adults’ and motherly types. She is suspicious of their motives, and detached when they show her affection or kindness - at least until she can suss out their true intentions. At least until she can make sure they’re good at keeping their word.
Her admiration and loyalty are two very hard-won things, but, in keeping with her obstinate personality - once you have it, it’s hard to lose. Just don’t stab her in the back.
Trust me.

History:
Kithood:Scrap was born in a litter of three, to a loner-queen named Scratch and an unknown sire. She grew up with two brothers, Snake and Tadpole, and loved them both fiercely. Her life was quiet to start with. They lived with their mother in the parts of the valley unclaimed by Clan cats, and though they moved often, Scrap found herself unbothered by not having a permanent home.
Her home was her family, it didn’t matter
where they went as long as they were whole.
Until Scratch decided otherwise.
Unsettled by Snake’s red eyes, Scratch made an unpopular choice. She chose to abandon one of her litter. When Scrap awoke one morning in greenleaf, her brother was gone - and Scratch refused to explain herself. Enraged and grief-stricken over the loss of Snake, Scrap argued with Scratch constantly, demanding that they go look for him - ask others if they’d
seen him - and adamantly denied any attempts her mother made to convince her Snake was dead.
Snake was
not dead, and Scrap would never believe it until she saw it for herself.
The next five days were hell - for all three remaining members of the family. Scrap hissed and fought her mother every time Scratch tried to move her and Tadpole, knowing Scratch would only carry her further and further away from where Snake was.
On the ninth day since Snake’s abandonment, Scrap awoke to find herself completely alone. It took only heartbeats for her to realize what had happened; fed up, Scratch had taken her remaining kit and left Scrap to fend for herself.
With a gulp of fear and a simmering anger in her belly, Scrap had screeched into the woods that she didn’t need
anyone from now on, and decided she only had
one family member left. Driven to find her missing sibling, Scrap doubled back the way they had come, and has been searching for her brother since.
Apprenticeship:Scrap was reunited with Snake in NightClan, and was given the rare opportunity to become a member of their founder Clan. Scrap was resistant and hostile, but Snake's happiness won her over; before long, they were Scrap-paw and Snakepaw. He was given to a senior warrior called Honeywhisker, and Scrap-paw was left to square off against an exceptionally kind, exceptionally patient older warrior by the name of Briarthroat.
It was due to this exceptional kindness and exceptional patience that Scrap-paw was able to progress through her training at all. Feisty and struggling to embrace NightClan's ways, Briarthroat's gentle, rational explanations and fatherly advice helped her through the most critical moons of her young life.
Over time, she began to view him as the father she'd never had. She developed a friendship with Graywolf (then Graypaw), a slightly younger apprentice, but Graywolf maintains a friendship status; Briarthroat and Snakepaw were family.
Warriorhood:It finally happened. She was made a warrior in full. Scrap-paw's name did not become Scrapfire or Scrapclaw; instead, she had approached Foxstar earlier, asking to shed her loner's name and become a proper member of the Clan. Foxstar allowed her to take the name
Nettleheart, in honor of Briarthroat's mentorship. Snakepaw become Snakestep, and Graypaw became Graywolf. She still bucks tradition and thinks very very little of StarClan, but Nettleheart seems to have grown attached to her new home, and her new family.
Other: Adopted from Zeneka.
