Thrushwhisker
28 Moons LightningClan Tom Warrior
Thrushwhisker caught the sun as it slowly started to descend in the sky, his eyes trailing after it with a sort of longing; longing for not only its warmth but also its ability to vanish from sight, seemingly at will. The warrior shook his head, his mind concentrating instead on his family, his mind passing over everyone of Morningfrost's offspring, catching on Larkfeather. As a kit and an apprentice, Thrushwhisker had often found himself in as much pain as his sister, hardly willing to watch, as his mother spent all her cruelty on the youngest kit of the litter. A bitterness welled up in the tom's throat the deeper and deeper he delved into his thoughts, guilt being an emotion he carried hidden almost too well.
It was as if Starclan had seen all the horrible things that Thrushwhisker was a bystander to, having been given an apprentice with the same name as his sister once carried: Larkpaw. While the two were nothing alike, the warrior couldn't find himself but seeing this as a novel opportunity to bring at least one of Lightninclan's Larkpaw's to greatness. He nodded, he would do it, even if it seemed impossible of the small loner kit. Seizing the day, Thrushwhisker decided that the late afternoon would make a wonderful time to take the small apprentice out and to show her some of the wonders of Lightninclan, making a mental note that the trek would end in the Star field, hopeful that the many many fireflies that danced like stars would provide some sort of inspiration for his new apprentice.
With a gated step, Thrushwhsiker pushed the negativity out of his mind as he went to go find Larkpaw, his jade eyes spotting her easily in the apprentice den. The warrior dipped his tabby head through the entrance of the den, his eyes narrowing on the brown and white she-cat as he spoke, a softness in both his eyes and his voice, "Hey Larkpaw-- Are you up for an adventure. I want to show you something." The tom was almost pleading at the end of his sentence, his newfound resolve to train his apprentice, manifesting itself as he spoke.
As quickly as he'd looking into the den, Thrushwhisker turned to overlook at the rest of the camp, giving Larkpaw the time and space that she might need. Lazily, the warrior made his way over to a small nook near the warrior's den and sat himself, licking the dirt that accumulated in his paws away, in an attempt to pass the time.

I feel like I'm waiting on something that isn't going to happen
