NAME: Birchfrost
AGE: 24 moons
GENDER: Tom-cat
ALLIANCE: Treeclan
RANK: Warrior

DESCRIPTION:
Birchfrost is a brawny, silver tabby tom with short fur and amber eyes. This tabby is by no means the tallest cat in Treeclan, but he is larger than average with a very full complexion, making him a more heavyweight fighter and a formidable opponent. This thick boned, stout tom would be the last cat in all the clans anyone would suspect to be nimble and quick, though he is unusually agile for his weight and size. There are definitely quicker cats in Treeclan, but one would never even think this rotund tom would be so speedy on his paws. His tree climbing skills are excellent due to his intense dexterity, though he will most likely stay a mediocre fighter because of his languid nature.
Birchfrost definitely has an element of strength in his broad, compact core and burly limbs. More often than not, he grows a bit plump in the warm seasons due to his lazy disposition and slow metabolism, though his ability to keep a heavier weight is to his own advantage in leafbare. It seems year round he keeps a robust and muscular tone, though with as much hunting as he does, and as successful as he is at it, it really comes to be no surprise to his clanmates. Some joke at how Birchfrost's stomach is a bottomless pit. This tom will tuck away food like a famished fox unless someone is there to stop him, so watch your meals closely!
DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Birchfrost is a brawny, silver tabby tom with short fur and amber eyes.

PERSONALITY:
POSITIVE
+) Adaptable (able to adjust to new conditions)
Birchfrost is incredibly flexible. Even though he's not the one to go looking for change, he can adjust to new situations rapidly with very little mental and physical strife. His adaptable nature is what consistently pushes him through conflict without worry, especially the tear-jerking deaths of his parents at such a young age and the altered lifestyles from kit to apprentice, and apprentice to warrior. Some might think its carelessness that makes him so accepting of new things, but in reality, it is his detachment from the world and those within it that make him so versatile and free spirited.
+) Percipient (having a good understanding of things; perceptive)
Part of what makes Birchfrost so infuriating to deal with sometimes is the fact that he is intelligent enough to understand. He is well aware of right and wrong, and is a good judge of personalities, so he knows how to push someone's buttons and is really, really excellent at it. Contrary to his difficult nature, Birchfrost is quite easy to talk to. He is a great listener and is very understanding of reason and logic. He isn't the best at processing emotions and comprehending feelings, but he is very adept at suggesting and recognizing good rationale. It is hard to approach him with a flurry of mixed sentiments and receive advice worth two dried frogs, but if presenting to Birchfrost a real conflict, he's definitely the one with a solution.
+) Poised (having a composed and self-assured manner)
Birchfrost is one of the most collected and self-confident cats in Treeclan. With enough poise to control the effects of physical, mental, or verbal stress on his mood, Birchfrost is well on his way to mastering an imperturbable personality. He is very even-tempered, and in tense situations, it is quite pacifying just having his stout, silver form standing idly by. His confidence in himself and everything he does is meritorious, though because of how blatantly obvious he expresses his negative traits, Birchfrost rarely receives praise. Despite how easily overlooked Birchfrost is in normal, day to day clan life, his coolheaded nature is noteworthy.
+) Independent (not depending on another for livelihood or subsistence)
It is no surprise that Birchfrost is as independent as he is. With as unsavory a character as he has turned out to be, he's learned how to satisfy himself without the praise or support of others, because it really wasn't ever there for him. Granted, his work isn't really commendable, but a few well placed words of encouragement in Birchfrost's earlier moons may have given him a more competitive drive. Despite what could have been, this silver tom continues to pursue his daily goals the way he works best; slow and alone. Though his autonomy is admirable to an extent. How one cat could be so satisfied with a lackluster life empty of friends and family is a mystery, but this tabby seems to be one of the most content cats in the entire land. The comfort and ease Birchfrost emits is calming to those who can overlook his immature flaws.
+) Tactical (showing adroit planning; aiming at an end beyond the immediate action)
For as idle as Birchfrost is physically, he is an amazingly organized, virtuoso planner with cutting wit. Although he might be a little sluggish around camp and on patrol, this silver tom's mind is sharper than Starclan's Claws, and he doesn't hesitate to be prudent in thought. Always pondering one step ahead, there are few outcomes Birchfrost can't successfully predict. Most of the time, he exercises his tactical logic by grumbling cynical retorts, destroying other's theories with irrefutable reasoning. It is quite annoying sometimes, but this tom's innovation and sagacious ways have gained him respect, no matter how slight.
NEGATIVE
-) Indolent (wanting to avoid activity or exertion; lazy)
From the moment he opened his amber eyes, Birchfrost has been very laid back and relatively inactive. He would spend his kithood days basking in the sun with the elders and listening to tales of adventure and peril while his peers scuffled in the dirt. Sure, he developed quite an imagination and curiosity after all those stories, though his motivation and drive had always been lacking, thus he continued focusing his efforts towards satisfying his clanmates (specifically the elders) by doing trivial chores that didn't require much energy or effort. His laziness has weighed him down like a ball and chain, preventing him from achieving a much higher level of respect from those around him, though despite his lack of motivation and dedication, Birchfrost's intense versatility and low level of energy can be very relaxing and fun to be around.
-) Covetous (having or showing a great desire to possess something, typically something belonging to someone else)
Birchfrost's greedy ways are quite harmless due to his lack of ambition, though it can be quite irritating and dumbfounding to his clanmates. It usually presents itself in the most sensitive and complicated times, though most occasions it is only really worthy of rolling eyes or a few sharp insults. Fortunately, or unfortunately, Birchfrost is pretty thick skinned and careless. Most often, his indolence is revealed when food is involved, though there have been many occasions, specifically in his younger years, where he has taken things from others because of spite or avarice. This silver tabby is a very intelligent cat and could have been much more successful if he was just a little proactive, but Birchfrost's aspirations really don't surpass making sure he's planned and secured his next meal.
-) Ruthless (having or showing no pity or compassion for others)
Birchfrost is reputed to have a ruthless side to him and is one of the most merciless, unsympathetic cats in all the clans. His care and interest in others is almost nonexistant, except in the instance in which he is offered a reward or perquisite of some kind. Although not quite sadistic, his negligence towards both his duties and others is reprehensible. Fortunately, unlike truly evil and wicked cats, Birchfrost doesn't have a drive to be barbaric; the conflict is that he lacks impulse and care. Stable friendships and reputations are just too much work for this lazy cat to keep up with.
-) Egotistic (exaggerated sense of self-importance; self-centered)
Calling Birchfrost self-centered would be an understatement; every decision he makes hinges on whether or not he is better off than before. Getting this tom to do something for someone else from the good in his heart without some kind of reward is like pulling teeth, though it doesn't take much to coerce him into a chore or duty, as he has a very low tolerance for pressure and persuasion. The best chance anyone has at getting his assistance is to ask him right before or just following his warrior duties for the day when he's still on all four paws, though it is absolutely essential that you catch him before his final and after his first meals of the day. Asking Birchfrost for help on his free time will leave any cat irate and spewing disparaging remarks.
-) Facetious (treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor; flippant)
Birchfrost does have a sense of humor, but he tends to express it at the most inappropriate and sensitive moments. Most often than not, his jokes just irritate or annoy cats more than anything because of how poorly timed they are and how universally renown Birchfrost's callous and insensitivity is among his clanmates. It is truly piteous how unsuccessful his humor is, and almost every failed jest leaves him in a horribly sour mood. Though his rancor doesn't last long. From simple acrimony to the very patrols that offer the clan protection and prey, Birchfrost's lack of effort in almost everything he does is genuinely astounding,

HISTORY:
Birchkit grew up with no parents, choosing to spend his kithood doting over the elders' fun stories. His mother and father died when he was around one to two moons old. Foxes attacked Treeclan, leaving Birchkit without kin, but the silver tabby kit didn't seem to take it bad at all. Some questioned whether he realized what really happened or not, but no one has brought it up in front of him to this day. Birchkit decided he wanted to sleep in the elder's den, so every night from the day of his parents' death to his apprentice ceremony, he slipped out of the nursery and slept with the closest thing to a friend he would ever have.
Birchpaw's apprenticeship was horrible, for his mentor at least. Getting Birchpaw to put effort into anything was like dragging a porcupine through brambles, the apprentice's laziness being the most notable of his flaws. Despite a rough and hair-pulling venture for his mentor, Birchpaw did learn quite a bit. Although a very idle fighter, Birchpaw's passion for food and hunting did spark an unforeseen interest in the youth. Birchpaw turned out to be an excellent hunter, and tree climber, much to the excitement of his mentor. Honestly, not one cat in the clan thought this indolent apprentice would be worth two mouse-tails as a warrior after seeing how he acted towards work and duty. Much to Birchpaw's distaste, everyone applauded his teacher for his efforts, ignoring the apprentice's unimpressive attempts at earning praise.
As a warrior, Birchfrost began disregarding the cats around him, including the elders. He was past feeling left out and ordinary, and the more he interacted with his clanmates, the more he felt insignificant. Part of their lack of interest and care in him turned him into the cat he is now, though one could argue that Birchfrost was prone to the traits that he now embodies. His personality continues to grow complex, perhaps not for the best, though there are several good traits that have earned him his warrior name. Birchfrost's warrior moons had been quite routine and lax, until the border skirmish with Lightningclan. He notices tensions at a high between the two clans, but, like always, he fails to let external stresses affect his mood.
