We're gonna play in the dark till it's golden again.

There were few things that Batpaw would outright state that she hated. In most circumstances she would avoid the word for hate  was usually far too strong of a word to describe her feelings on a subject. Even when the apprentice did manage to encounter something she hated, it was rare for her to speak about it. In most cases she would simply ignore whatever managed to cause her such disdain and pretend like it didn't exist. True, it wasn't the best way to deal with one's problems but it had worked so far.

Yet when one's problem was with the weather, they couldn't exactly avoid it now could they? And so, for once in the apprentice's life she caught herself muttering softly about the light dusting of snow that was plaguing the territory as she returned to camp from patrolling with her mentor. "This snow is a load of fox-dung." The she-cat hissed quietly, parting ways with her mentor upon reaching the camp. "Why does it have to be so cold? Why not more like....warm fluffy clouds instead?"

He decided, finally, that he hated the snow. He would say he hated leafbare altogether, but it wasn't the season or the cold he didn't like. It was the snow and sleet, the wind blowing stinging bits into his nose and ears. The cold he actually enjoyed, and the crisp evenings were some of his favorite times of the day. The weather was keeping him home, keeping him from being able to go and hunt as he was used to. Without the ability to scent where he was and track by scent and sound he was useless. So, until newleaf or with a hunting partner along, he was stuck in camp.

He sighed, head rested on his paws and ears flicking as he lay at the entrance of the warrior's den. He was listening to the Clan as they came and went about their daily lives, and it made him both angry and sad that he couldn't really join them. He could take a patrol with a group, but if he were to be separated from them he would freeze with the snow being kicked up by the wind. And what patrol wanted to go slow enough to allow a cat that should be able to keep up with them to regain his barings? It was leafbare, prey was scarce and cats were cold and irritable. No, no patrols and no hunting, not unless he was with Firestar or Whitesparrow. Or an apprentice that wanted to humor the blind tom.

It was times like these he thought that StarClan hated him very much.

In the midst of muttering curses directed at the bitter snow, the shadowy apprentice caught a glimpse of a Wildstripe positioned near the front of the warrior den. The sight of the tom helped to lift the she-cat's spirits a bit as it reminded her that she could  at the very least spend the day with her clanmates. After all, she did love to socialize,maybe chatting with the blind tom would help her to forget about the cold snow that littered the ground.

Without so much as a warning, the black she-cat bolted over towards him, making no effort to keep herself quiet as she approached him. It was probably for the best if he heard her coming anyways, she didn't want to startle him. "Wildstripe hi!" The she-cat mewled out excitedly as she grew nearer to him,eventually coming to a stop a few pawsteps away. "How are you doing today?"

His ears swiveled at the ruckus, knowing someone was coming towards him. It chased his gloomy thoughts away for the time being, and the warrior pulled himself back to his paws. A smile broke across his features at the exuberant greeting he was given from the apprentice she-cat. "I am well, fully recovered from my little adventure in the snow." Which hadn't really taken long, since he'd just been a little weak from the cold. And the scolding he'd gotten from Firestar had also kept him from stubbornly returning to his normal duties as a warrior. He'd worried his leader and sister, and he didn't want her to be mad at him. So he was behaving.

That aside.

"How are you on this windy day?" His head canted to one side, listening even as his unfocused eyes remained on her. He knew she had to be either right in front or to either side of him, and proximity said probably right in front.
