Hold, hold on, hold onto me 'Cause I'm a little unsteady. Exhausted with this grief, Gullswoop said his goodbye to a guarding clan-mate before heading out. He had no plans, simply wanted to walk about and clear his head a little bit more. The sorrow the hung heavy on him felt like he was preparing for an early grave. Despite his normally youthful energy, Gullswoop's life had started to tug on him harder than before. The loss of his father was a hit he hadn't prepared for. Not that you really can in the grand scheme of things. The death of Vultureback shook Gullswoop to the very core, especially since he no longer had a connection to his mother. Any happy stories about her were lost, he grieved for that too.
Not bothering to tell anyone where he was going, Gullswoop let his pawsteps guide him. Ignoring just how far he was from camp until a prickle of something urged him to look up. He wandered perhaps a little too far from camp which was not his overall intention. Looking around he took note of the shapes in shadows of the setting sun. His silver and black marked ears rotated to hear any sound and found the eerie quiet to be uncomfortable.
Contemplating returning back to camp, he didn't get much of a chance to decide before a faint whiff of a scent he grown to hate. Turning sharply to face the source of the smell he saw the pale cream pelt of Salomclaw emerging from the reeds.
"It seems fitting that I kill you, since my dad killed your traitor of a father," Salomclaw growled, his voice dark and almost taunting. Gullswoop snarled in response, anger making his fur bristle. Their last interaction resulted in Salmonclaw retreating like a sore coward, but this wasn't going to end that way. The silver tabby knew from the start it was going to be a fight until they either were forced to stop or one of them died. It wasn't what Gullswoop wanted but part of him wanted to push away his peaceful nature. Avenge his father some how. Leopardyowl was kept in the camp and cats outside of his guards were forbidden to see him. Gullswoop often wondered what would happen if he went there in the cover of night to cast his revenge, but he also knew it would be impossible. So instead the hateful side settled on Salmonclaw.
"I'm going to rip you to shreds", Gullswoop growled, loud enough that a few birds who lingered in the trees skirted away. His claws fully extended as Salomclaw did the same, but what happened next confused Gullswoop more than anything.
He was completely focused on Salomclaw that he hadn't see the blur of fur coming from his side. Crashing into him was the form of Crobragaze, a tom-cat he knew to be cruel. Gullswopo barely had enough time to roll away from the assault, but he wa still surprised. His momentary lack of response allowed for Crobragaze to hit him with a sharp claw to the side of his head. His ears were cut, resulting in blood starting to drip down his head. Pushing back away from the tom-cat, Gullswoop was able to recover enough to stand up to his full height. Crobragaze didn't want long before he lunged again, his time attacking the silver tabby's legs. Gullswoop fought back defensively, pushing Crobragaze back with will placed swipes and counter-steps.
Now with Gullswoop distracted Salmonclaw was able to circle around, jumping onto Gullswoop's back, digging his claws deep into Gullswoop's back. Landing a bite to the nape of Gullswoop's neck. The green-eyed silver tom let out a cry of pain, blood starting to well up in the new wounds. The wound itself wasn't that deep and if he wasn't in such a state of pain he would be able to thank StarClan for his thicker pelt. Using his larger body mass to shake Salmonclaw off of him, Gullswoop tumbled with the gesture and fell with Salmonclaw still clinging to him. Rushing to get back to his feet, Salmonclaw snarled, Gullswoop was slower to stand the blood loss starting to blurr the edge of his vision.
"like father, like son." Salmonclaw taunted, as Crobragaze joined him in short laugh. Gullswoop swayed heavily trying to focus on Salmonclaw and Crobragaze both, but it was nearly impossible. His claws were now used to keep him from stumbling down, blood falling form his fur to splatter on the ground. Like all cowards, Salmonclaw took advantage of his blood loss. Salmonclaw closed the gap bewteen them, rearing up on his hindlegs in a mock fashion of Gullswoop's signature move. Salmonclaw's were painful as they raked across Gullswoop's face. The force of the blow had the silver tom falling the rest of the way to the ground. Panting now as he tried to catch his breath. The face wound now leaking blood into his mouth.
"Somone is coming!" Came the distant voice of Goldpaw, he must have been a lookout while the two cats attacked him. Salmonclaw looked toward Crobragaze then back to Gullswoop before giving some sort of signal for them to depart. Leaving Gullswoop bleeding out, perhaps it was his fate. With all his strength pulled from him as his blood covered the ground, Gullswoop wondered who would visit him, Falconleap or Vultureback. Would they both come?

Lotuswhisker33 Moons, She-Cat, RainClan Warrior She no longer trusted her so-called Clanmates. She no longer wanted to be in the Wooded Cove; their obsession with pure blood had gone too far. Yet by renouncing her status as a Purist, would she be making herself a target? And she could never leave Willowbreeze--never do something to put her sister in danger.
Maybe it was cowardice, that kept her curled up in her nest beside the other Purists. Maybe it was common sense. Hard to say at this point, and Lotuswhisker wasn't certain she wanted to hear the answer. Not all Purists were horrible; Mothfoot, Poppyflame and their three kits, now apprentices, were decent cats. As far as I know...
Despite wanting to defend them, Lotuswhisker was beginning to have her doubts about everyone. After Leopardyowl's capture and Vinestripe's attack (poor Glowflower), Lotuswhisker had trouble sleeping at night. She now kept a watchful eye on Salmonclaw, Leopardyowl's son, and a pawful of the others who might leap at the chance to spill the blood of their Clanmates.
Lotuswhisker had just returned from fishing when the distinct scents of Cobragaze, Salmonclaw and Goldpaw snagged her attention like fox teeth in a cat's pelt. Afraid of Cobragraze's influence on Goldpaw, as well as Salmonclaw's horrible personality, she had followed them. Willowbreeze's arrival had slowed her progress--she had stopped to have a few tense words with her sister about why they were following Salmonclaw--or else Lotuswhisker would have heard the snarling and screeching sooner.
Dark brown tail bushed out, Lotuswhisker raced towards the sounds, horror in her eyes, and a hiss rising in her throat as she saw Salmonclaw, Cobragaze (with blood on their fur and claws) and Goldpaw hurtle past her. "What did you do?" She snapped at Salmonclaw, but the pale warrior didn't slow down to answer. Cobragaze stayed long enough to leer. "You're next, NightClanner."
The fur along her spine rippled, pelt fluffing out in alarm as those words nipped at her heels. Lotuswhisker caught a whiff of Gullswoop's scent, and her heart shuddered in anguish. No! Lotuswhisker ran to the tall silver warrior's side, the sight of blood staining his fur and his flanks heaving with the effort to stay alive sent an icy river of terror coursing through her veins.
"Willowbreeze, run to camp--the real camp--tell them Gullswoop is hurt and he needs Ottersplash!" Her sea-green eyes were wide, glistening with distress, but her voice was strong. "And bring back someone to help move him. He's too heavy for just us. Go! StarClan, be fast!"
While Willowbreeze took off for their true home, Lotuswhisker crouched beside Gullswoop and began to lick his wounds clean, the taste of his blood nearly making her gag. But she murmured supporting words as she did so, though it was clear the brown warrioress was frightened nearly out of her fur. She trembled, hoping to StarClan above she wasn't about to watch Gullswoop die.
"You're gonna be alright, Gullswoop. Just fine. We'll get Ottersplash and you'll be just fine."

Hold, hold on, hold onto me 'Cause I'm a little unsteady. "I wonder what StarClan is like, will I meet some of my family there?" Gullswoop thought as he laid there, the pain of the wounds dulling as the blood trickled away. Now that he wasn't fighting the hammer in his chest died down and so did the rate in which he lost the blood. However, the amount was going to the troubling bit of the ordeal. He was barely able to catch the new scent and soft hum of sleep was calling to him. So instead of being alert to the sisters arrival his eyes closed.
The sound of Lotuswhisker's voice woke him for a moment. His eyes still half-lidded, barely being able to focus. "Is my mother here to take me to StarClan?" He asked the pretty she-cat as her sister departed without question. Her rough tongue against his wounds made him wince but he didn't move, not that he had much energy to do so.
"Thank...you...Lotus-" He mumbled before the hum of sleep called to him again. He hadn't left yet, but he had found sleep to be relaxing and let the sensation fall over him.
Willowbreeze using her limbs to their full extension was able to make it back to home without losing too much time. Her attention scanned the cats as a few wondered what she was doing, few even let their mouths widen into hisses.
"Gullswoop has been hurt, I need someone to help carry him back to camp and for someone to tell Ottersplash," She told the crowd, scanning them all for any sign that someone would come. Her tail lash back and forth as her heartcontinuedd to race. What if no one wanted to help him?! Would Lotuswhisker watch him die? "Please," She said again, fear of what mind happen widening her pretty green eyes.
note: Ottersplash doesn't have to be appear, just Jaycry bringing him into camp.

Jaycry warrior of rainclan Jaycry had been resting in Camp, taking a rare rest admist the busy schedule that had become his life. RainClan was falling apart to put it bluntly. The crack in the storm had arrived, the deaths were rising. It was only a matter of time until they had full scale war on their paws and yet still cats sat around not taking action. He gripped at the ground with unsheathed claws, frustration causing his long tail to flick restlessly. How long until someone actually did something around here? Guilt flickered within him, cats were mourning. Every cat that died meant something to someone, he lifted his pained gaze to the band of mourning cats gathered although most were out patrolling in groups larger than before. He had nothing to lose anymore, it left him wanting nothing more than to take back what was rightfully theirs. Yet others did, they had friends, family...his gaze dropped back to his paws. He had nothing but his Clan...and it was falling apart.
What could he do anyway? He was a mere warrior yet...Timberstar was in no state to launch any sort of attack and worry lingered in the tom's gaze. How much longer could they go on like this?
He was jerked back to his senses when the noises of cats letting out noises of an alarming and then defensive nature filled his ears and he sprung to his paws, shouldering his way to the front of the group in time to see Willowbreeze come skidding into camp. His pelt prickled with unease, she was here alone which meant she met no patrols in the forest, if she could make it did that mean any purist could stroll into their camp? He watched her through narrowed, uncertain eyes. Last time he'd spoken to her had been before the killings had started. She'd looked a lot surer of herself before, now horror seemed to haunt her gaze and despite himself, Jaycry felt slight concern stab at him.
His pelt bristled at her words and he heard outraged hisses come from some of his Clanmates. Suddenly concerned for Willowbreeze's safety, Jaycry moved forward until he stood next for the she-cat. He hesitated for a brief moment, what if she was trying to lead him into a trap? She was still a purist after all, even if she hadn't seemed to fully agree with their ways. He could be walking into his death. But every moment he spent hesitating was another moment Gullswoop was more likely to lose his life and he wouldn't let that happen! The purist group had become one big murderous monster. But he decided in that moment that he trusted Willowbreeze, she wouldn't betray him. She was a good cat that simply cared for her sister. Hoping his instincts were right he turned to face the others. "Someone alert Ottersplash, tell him to be ready to tend to what could be a severely injured cat!" He meowed, tone snappy. Then before anyone could protest, he nodded to Willowbreeze to follow the way and let her lead him out the camp.
The sickly sweet smell of blood filled his nose as they reached their destination and Jaycry slowed to a walk until he stood by the bloodied form of Gullswoop who had Lotuswhisker crouched beside him. He quickly glanced about but they were alone, other fainter purist scents lingered but he was too focused on Gullswoop to bother trying to identify who they belonged to. The state of Gullswoop was enough to horrify most cats and Jaycry's pelt prickled as he crouched down and nudged the tom. "You're going to be okay" was all he murmured before he turned to the two sisters. "Help me bring him back to camp" he muttered curtly before turning away from them and taking Gullswoop's scruff as gently as he could in his maw, waiting for the others to take their own positions and help haul the bloodied warrior home. Lotuswhisker33 Moons, She-Cat, RainClan Warrior ------ Lotuswhisker had bristled with surprise at Jaycry's appearance--how had Willowbreeze known him?--but that surprise was quickly put aside for Gullswoop's sake. As the gray tabby tom took their fallen friend by the scruff, Lotuswhisker quickly ducked under Gullswoop, feeling his weight crash down against her shoulders. He was even heavier than she suspected, but Lotuswhisker gritted her teeth, dug in her claws and began as quick a pace as she could towards RainClan's camp.
Her fuzzy brown tail swept lightly against Willowbreeze's side, feeling her sister support Gullswoop as well. With Jaycry leading them back, and the scent of blood coating her fur and her tongue, Lotuswhisker squeezed her eyes shut for just a moment. StarClan, please don't let him be dead. She refused to accept another pointless death. Refused.
The journey was difficult for her, but Lotuswhisker, shoulders aching, managed to stumble into RainClan's camp, the thick silver fur of Gullswoop muffling most of the whispers, and she kept her eyes forward as she located Ottersplash's den. As carefully as three cats could, they set Gullswoop down in one of the unused nests in the medicine cat's den.
There was another cry of horror from the camp, and Lotuswhisker briefly had time to step back as Bitternwing rushed into the den, anxious to be at the side of her wounded littermate.
"Who did this?" A serious voice made Lotuswhisker flinch, and her sea-green gaze swung around to face Bluewave, RainClan's deputy wearing an expression like a thunderstorm.
Feeling small and uncertain, a tiny part of her wanted to lie, to say that she didn't know -- what if this would spark a war? What if even more RainClan cats fell? -- but Lotuswhisker was still loyal to RainClan. And cats that attacked one another, cats that killed each other... They weren't her Clanmates any more. "Salmonclaw and Cobragaze." Lotuswhisker held the deputy's gaze, before moving to stand beside her sister. "Salmonclaw was Leopardyowl's son. It was probably in retaliation for his capture..." But what about us?
The murmurs had gotten louder now, and Lotuswhisker pressed her tired shoulder against Willowbreeze's. Whatever happens next, we'll get through this together.

30 Moons. RainClan. Warrior. Willowbreeze had always worked well with Lotuswhisker it was never a question if they were siblings. They blended together effortlessly and carrying Gullswoop was made easier because of it. Jaycry's was strength was also noted, but it wasn't a time to be distracted not when Gullswoop good die at any moment. Doing her best to avoid gagging at the smell of blood. It was both unsettling and a cause for alarm. Had he lost too much?
Almost afraid to share that thought with Lotuswhisker the she-cat trekked on with the rest of them. Feeling her heart hammer as they came closer to the camp. Fear running down her spine as she wondered if someone would blame them. Would they be held accountable for what happened to him? Pushing that terrible thought away from her Willowbreeze focused again on getting back home.
Finally arriving in the camp, Willowbreeze followed her sister's lead, like always, in order to leave Gullswoop at an unclaimed nest. She had an urge to alert his father of his condition but had to remind herself that Vultureback was gone. Instead her soft eyes found her sister's for a brief moment. The concern that show on her pretty sister made Willowbreeze wonder for a moment about the two of them.
Hearing Bluewave's voice also had Willowbreeze flinching as the she-cat took up her spot beside but also slightly behind her sister. The exchange between Lotuswhisker and Bluewave was brief. The deputy departed to perhaps check on Gullswoop, leaving the sister alone for a moment.
She welcomed her sister's touch and nuzzled back into her with a short purr, anything to comfort her. "He will be okay and we are okay, we are home," She told Lotuswhisker, looking to see if she could see catch Jaycry's gaze and give him a silent thank you.
Gullswoop had stirred once he was placed on the nest. The blood already starting to dry in his pelt. His wounds could be handled and dealt with simply, infection was going to be his only enemy. However, his features were changed. The slashing from Salmonclaw had resulted in deep cuts, likely to scar and marr his face for the rest of his life.

Jaycry warrior of rainclan The trek home was silent save the occasional rustle of branches as a rough breeze swirled around them. Everything else seemed oddly silent, even the birds had fallen silent and there was no sound of creatures scurrying through the undergrowth. It was as if the whole land was in silent grieving for the attacks it was forced to witness. He'd almost replaced the word 'attack' with 'murder' and had to remind himself that although Gullswoop had faced a gruesome attack, this was not a corpse they carried. They could still save this tom from an underserved faith. He pushed on with an even stronger determination than before. He wasn't going to let the tom depart to StarClan just yet.
They finally made it, making a beeline for Ottersplash's den and he quietly assisted the two she-cats in dropping Gullswoop gently into an unused nest. He took a step back then, rolling his shoulders a few times to rid them of the ache they'd gained carrying the older warrior and shifted his ice-coloured gaze to the two sisters, wondering what on earth to say. He'd just brought two purists into the camp, possibly putting them in danger and he felt slight protectiveness stab at him. He wouldn't let them get hurt! He knew they were decent cats, he could probably convince others of it too if they wanted to stay...His blue eyes flashed, did they want to stay? He couldn't imagine them wanting to remain with the purists with what was going on now but how could he be certain? Cats that were once their Clanmates now posed a greater threat to them than the other Clans. That tended to shake up your trust a good bit.
However his attention was switched from the two to Bitternwing as with an almost spine-chilling, mournful cry the she-cat threw herself at her littermate. The deputy, Bluewave was quick to follow, sweeping them all with her serious gaze before she spoke. She looked furious but Jaycry was almost certain that he could spot a deep weariness in the depths of her gaze. He sat back as Lotuswhisker spoke, feeling a painful stab deep within him at what this Clan had to go through for such stupid reasons. He listened in closely as Lotuswhisker provided the names and glanced away, eyes shadowed.
As Bluewave eventually departed, Jaycry shifted uncomfortably as the two sisters murmured to each other. However just as he stood to leave, he caught Willowbreeze's gaze and read the appreciation aimed at him. A quiet sigh escaped him as he nodded back to her. He then lifted his gaze so that it was focused on the two of them and simply murmured. "Things will get better, they have to." Before he turned and slipped out from the den without glancing back.
