I'll do this my way
don't matter if I break
❉ Briarsong ❉
Age } Sixteen Moons
Gender } She-cat
Clan } RainClan
Rank } Warrior
❉ Description ❉
Short descr.>>> black she-cat with green eyes
Briarsong is an entirely black cat. From the leather of her nose, to the tip of her tail, black is the only color to be found. Her fur is shiny from the clan diet of fish, but coarse and rough to the touch. Her build is lean and lithe, with narrow shoulders and hips. As such she's not as heavy as some of the larger cats, but what she loses in pure brunt strength she's gained in agility. Despite being naturally rough her pelt has very few scars on it, something which she is quite proud of.
Green eyes complete her look, often accompanied by a sharp, cutting, gaze that can be rather unnerving. Happy isn't a common look on her, as she tends to have an eternal look that seems to suggest that she's judging someone.
❉ Personality ❉
alert >>> sarcastic >>> calculating
Briarsong for the most part isn't a vocal cat. She's perfectly content to stay silent on most matters. It's not that she doesn't believe her voice has a worth, but rather that she'd prefer to have all of the facts and several different angles of attack before jumping in over her head. She may be a RainClan cat, but water is the only thing she wants to swim in. So she'll watch and listen, alert at all times and rarely ever relaxing fully.
If and when she's made her mind up on something it's impossible to change it. Her decisions are made on a combination of gut instinct and general knowledge, fast and decisive choices that tend to lean less towards the emotional answer. She'll cling to her opinions like a leech, rarely letting them go or altering them. For a clan-born cat her opinions have only a small basis in the warrior code.
She struggles to express her emotional state, and as a protection method to avoid it she'll use sarcasm. Generally it sticks to just sarcasm, but if pushed too far her words will tumble into pure venom, like a snake that's been backed too far into a corner. These outbursts don't happen often, tending to build for quite some time. Briarsong rarely will try to rebuild whatever relationship there was before the outburst if it's been badly damaged.
Outwardly she tends to appear cold and calculating. A quiet cat who if she speaks is eternally snarky.
❉ History ❉
zero moons >>> sixteen moons
Her parents were decent cats who loved each other, but she never grew too attached to them. From what she could learn Briarsong had had a sibling who died shortly after birth. It had sorrowed her parents greatly, and though left unsaid by them, it cast a gloom over her time in the nursery.
When her apprenticeship started she was extremely excited, nearly bouncing out of her fur for the first moon. She worked hard, and her mentor trained her hard. Combat training was something she loved--the feeling of power, of being able to twist and turn and dive, and the way her mentor would look proud whenever she executed a move just so.
As time went on she began to live purely for the approval and praise of her mentor. She wanted to be the best she could, but as she grew older so did her mentors interest in having an apprentice wane. It wasn't an immediate change, more of a gradual shift, but their words grew less frequent and the ones they did exchange were like thorns.
By the end of her apprenticeship they would bicker near constantly. It was a relief to both of them when she graduated. After her ceremony though Briarsong realized that she had forgone friendships for the sake of training. Not sure how to start them now she reserves herself to the edge of conflicts, that was until RainClan began to split.
In her heart she understands the purists more. She would prefer it if the clan's blood was kept pure, if they would stick with their own. She also understands the self righteous anger they seem to feel, and the violent, powerful, heady thing it can be. But she doesn't believe in their methods. The violence and malevolence of it all horrifies her (and if she's being honest--it terrifies her too). So she's a reluctant loyalist, believing that spilled blood is not the answer.
❉ Notes ❉
Were you referred to this site: I know I found it through an add.
I get the feeling that Briarsong rolls her eyes quite a bit.
