Specklepaw - Tom - 6 Moons
There was no denying just how hot it was. The sun beating down on the rocks which covered Stoneclan's camp. Unrelenting it warmed up the stones, the only relief was the shade the rocks gave to those within camp. Here it was a few degrees cooler, but even then it was too warm for most cat's liking. This didn't discourage Specklepaw however. No the young apprentice was full of energy and eager to burn it off. His long furred tail waving through the air as he batted a pebble around camp. His heavy footed paws loud on the stone as he skidded to a halt. The pebble caught between his speckled front paws. A glint in his big leafy green gaze.
" Your mine now!" He exclaims, batting the pebble in the air and catching it with his maw. He winces some however as it hurts his teeth from the impact. Spitting it out he looks around to see if anyone had noticed his little mishap. From what he could tell they hadn't, so he turned back to his pebble. His haunches slipping to the ground, he turns over flopping to the ground on his back. A bored sigh escaping him.
Where was Shadowdance when he needed him? He thought annoyed. I have important things to be doing! Like saving Stoneclan from intruders! Huffing he bats the pebble hard, not caring where it ended up. His leafy gaze staring at the camp ceiling. Eyes squinting against a small bit of sunlight gleaming through a crack in the rock above. I bet I could climb that! He thought. His head leaning back so he could look around camp. Wandering if the warriors would notice if he slipped outside.

Everything was going well, up until a pebble smacked her right between the eyes when she walked in. "Ouch!" she squeaked, whiskers twitching, her tail as bristly as a pinecone in surprise. "Who threw that?" If it was an accident, then she could easily overlook that, but if there was a naughty kit or apprentice throwing rocks at innocent Clanmates...
Well then Heronpaw could say something to them! (Honeypaw wasn't so good at confrontation herself).
Rubbing her face with a soft white paw, when she pulled her paw away from the injured spot, there was no blood, and already the little sting was starting to fade away.
"Oh hi, Speckledpaw!" She greeted the spotted apprentice with a waving tail, a suspicious thought crossing her mind before she batted it away like a moss ball. Did HE throw that stone at me...? Nah... It probably just fell. That was one of the scary things about living in StoneClan, sometimes on windy nights, really windy nights, the air would whistle through their dens or knock some stones loose.

Specklepaw - Tom - 6 Moons
Before Specklepaw could act upon his impulses, his train of thought was disturbed. A voice, a female one at that ringing in his ears. Blinking his big leafy green gaze, Specklepaw cranes his head backwards to see who had called his name. His gaze focusing on the upside down form of Honeypaw. " Oh! Hey there Honeypaw!" He says, quickly flipping himself over so she was no longer floating on the camp ceiling. Shaking his skull some, the fur on top his head stuck up in a funny manner. His paws still splayed as he lay before Honeypaw, sort of gaping up at her. Realizing he was gaping like some little kit, he closes his maw. Instead he smiles some.
" So er.... " He struggles to find his tongue. Mousebrain! He scolds himself, slowly getting to his paws. He shakes his pelt out, sending a cloud of dust into the air. Puffing up his speckled chest fur, he steps a bit closer to the she-cat. Only to trip on the very pebble that he'd tossed aside earlier. Sending him forward none too gracefully, to crash in a heap of black and white fur upon the ground. " Omf!" He exclaims, now feeling down right silly. " I... I meant to do that!" He stammers, quickly getting his thick paws beneath him. He straightens again wincing at the pain in his paw where he'd stepped on the pebble. Casually as he could he raises it to give a swift lick, before using it to comb the fur on his head.

HERONPAW The cream and white she-cat backed out of the elder's den, meowing her farewells to all the elders as Fallenleaf helped her escaped. She'd wandered in there to bring new moss what must have been an hour ago. Somehow she'd gotten roped into story after story. Not wanting to be impolite, she'd sat quietly and listened, nodding when appropriate and offering a couple words here and there. Her shoulder still felt strange following her stint with the hawk the day before, and Heronpaw found herself subconsciously leaning to one side so she could stretch her shoulder inconspicuously.
Eventually, Fallenleaf had come to her rescue, mentioning that Heronpaw certainly had places to be and things to do. Whispering her thanks to the older cream and white cat, Heronpaw had taken her leave, immediately feeling the weight of the day's heat. Her ears tipped back slightly accompanying a rather uncomfortable face and a shake of her pelt, as though she might dispel the heat from her pelt. With a huff, she decided she'd go hide away in the shadows to let some of the unbearable heat dissipate. Then she'd find Eagletalon and see if there was anything he had planned as part of her training today.
It was around here that a familiar voice caught her attention, her ears snapping to attention at the alarm and hint of pain she heard reflected in that outcry. For a brief moment, thoughts of the hawk flashed through her mind and her heart leapt up in her chest. Charging toward the sound of Honeypaw's voice, she slowed only when she realized her friend was speaking to someone. Panting softly, she hesitated to catch her breath. A strange, muffled shuffling reached her ears, as though someone had just fallen flat on their muzzle. Blinking curiously, she ducked around a corner, her larger frame pulling up beside Honeypaw.
Blue eyes drifted from the other she-cat to Specklepaw, who appeared to be fixing his fur now. "Er... Is everyone okay..?" She asked, doing her best to piece together the most recent happenings. The pebble that had caused the whole shenanigan remained out of her notice. Being in StoneClan, she'd grown up with stones everywhere. Why would a small pebble ever draw her attention? apprentice of stoneclan Fawn @teeks | background image | table by phoenix

She'd nearly giggled at the funny way Speckledpaw's fur stuck up on the top of his head, but the tabby and white she-cat had managed to contain herself. Up until the tom fell muzzle-first onto the camp's stone floor, and mixed in with sympathy for what was probably a stinging jaw, was a laugh that bubbled up out of her throat like spring water.
Honeypaw slapped her tail over her mouth, apologizing. "Sorry! You just looked like a caterpillar that fell out of a tree." It took more effort to suppress further chuckling, though Heronpaw's sudden arrival was an excellent distraction. "Mhm, everything's fine!" She chirped, sharing a private wink with Speckledpaw—I won't tell her what you 'meant' to do—before nuzzling her friend's shoulder affectionately. "What took you so long, Heronpaw? Were you talking to Fallenleaf?" Honeypaw's head tilted, inquisitive.
The last she'd seen of her friend, the pale furred, ginger-pointed she-cat had been on her way to bring moss to the elders... But that had been... Honeypaw glanced at the ground, noticing the placement of their shadows... some time ago.

Specklepaw - Tom - 6 Moons
His jaw smarting, little stars dancing in his eyes, Specklepaw tried to blink his vision clear. His ears flickering at the sound of giggles erupting from Honeypaw's maw. Flushing with embarrassment his ears flicked back against his skull. Her words of apology doing little for his pride. As he lapped a little more at his paw, smoothing it over his flattened ears. His leafy green eyes were distracted by the sudden appearance of another she-cat, Heronpaw. He suddenly felt even smaller than he was. Fidgeting he tries laughing off the ordeal with Honeypaw. A sheepish smile gracing his lips, he nods glad that Honeypaw hadn't spoken of his fall. It still hurt his maw to open but he managed.
" Oh yeah... right all is good here. We were just uh... talking." He says, gaze flickering between the pair. Hearing the name of one of the elders. He remained silent but only for a second. His injured pride was starting to heal and his idea of earlier still clung in his mind. " Well I don't know about you two. But I'm bored!" He complains, placing his feet beneath him once more he glances around. " Want to have some fun?" He asks raising a brow, a glint of mischief dancing in his leafy gaze. He waits on impatient paws for the pair to reply. He'd still go if they weren't interested but it would be far more fun if they joined in.

HERONPAW She felt like she'd missed something. There was no other way she could think of putting it. Her blue eyes blinked twice, switching from Specklepaw to Honeypaw with the speed of a striking eagle. "Uh..." She began, unsure of how to respond to the exchange she'd just witnessed. Fortunately for Specklepaw, she was quickly distracted by a familiar tap to her shoulder from Honeypaw's nose. Glancing down at her friend, the older she-cat offered her a distracted smile. "The opposite actually.. I got sucked in to the other elders recounting stories of various things... Fallenleaf helped me escape after a while."
Specklepaw's voice jumped back in, pulling her blue-eyed gaze back toward him. Her tail swished slowly behind her, a slow curve that served no purpose but to entertain herself. At the tom's proposal of potential fun to be had, she glanced uncertainly at Honeypaw. If her friend decided to go with this tom, she would follow too. After yesterday, it might take a few days for her to remember Honeypaw didn't need Heronpaw constantly at her side. So long as Honeypaw let her be a little overprotective for a few more days, it would all go back to normal.. "What do you say, Honeypaw..?" She mewed softly, awaiting an answer. apprentice of stoneclan Fawn @teeks | background image | table by phoenix

Honeypaw nodded eagerly, curious about Speckledpaw's idea of fun. Some cats thought taking a nap around the camp was fun, others thought it was great fun to go splashing around in the sky springs on hot days. Speckledpaw seemed to have something else in mind though, and Honeypaw's nose twitched from the build-up of curiosity.
"Sure! What do you want to do?" Honeypaw glanced to one of her best friends, and smiled. "As long as we don't encounter any more hawks, I'm up for an adventure." It occurred to the tabby she-cat that it would be wise not to stray too far from camp, if his plan was, in fact, to leave the safety of their rocky, hidden home.
Honeypaw glanced at Heronpaw again, realization dawning on her. What if Heronpaw was going to become a warrior tonight? What if they weren't back in time? Oh StarClan, what if Hawkstar was cross with them for making Heronpaw miss her own ceremony? Honeypaw's tail tip quivered like a startled mouse, and swept against the rocky floor with uncertainty. "Let's not go too far away, okay? I, uh, don't want to miss Crimsonshadow."
Using her mentor as an excuse to stay close, Honeypaw looked at Speckledpaw expectantly, smiling at the mischievous glint in the black and white tom's eyes.

Specklepaw - Tom - 6 Moons
Specklepaw's mischievous gaze had turned expectantly to Honeypaw. Awaiting her response he shifted his weight from paw to paw. Excitement tingling in his limbs he practically leapt with joy, when she agreed on joining in his fun. " Oh it'll be fun!" he assures, his chest puffed up proudly. His attention however wisped away by Honeypaw's comment. " Hawks!?" Speckledpaw huffs, fluffing his pelt up even more. " Don't worry about no hawks, I can handle em!" He boasts, flickering his tail. " I'll send those crowfood eating, foxhearts flying if they try an bother us!" He promises, shuffling his way closer to the camp exit. His sore paw long forgotten, along with his smarting jaw.
Specklepaw was just about to charge out of camp, when Honeypaw spoke once more. He spins around to glance at her, his long tail swooshing through the air. " No worries! We're barely leaving camp at all." He admits, a grin gracing his speckled face. " Cause..." He starts lowering his voice. " We're going to climb on top of the camp!" Eyes shining at his idea, he purrs. " Race you to the top!?" He challenges. Then without waiting for a response he zips out of the exit. His white paws kicking up dust in the process. This will be awesome! He thought excitedly, eager to show off in front of the two she-cats. And determined to be the first one up the rocky mound.

HERONPAW Honeypaw's eager nod was, in every sense of the word, completely expected by Heronpaw. She made a small face, already worried about where this might lead them. Fortunately, Honeypaw also had some reservations, briefly mentioning the incident that had occurred the day before with the hawk. The younger she-cat didn't appear to want to wander too far from the Clan camp, which was good seeing as they were all still apprentices. ...Though one of them was old enough to be a warrior by now. Heronpaw's ears pitched backward slightly, not as eager to follow the male apprentice that bounded towards the camp entrance.
Upon hearing Specklepaw's plan, however, the older she-cat came to a halt, blue eyes glinting in alarm. "Wait what? No!" She exclaimed, her voice firm as she fixed the two younger warriors with her gaze. She'd heard several stories concerning cats felled by rocks, and she didn't think that playing on them was a good idea. "Specklepaw! Stop!" She called after him, hating that she had to be the spoil-sport. But she couldn't be held responsible if someone got hurt; which she would be, because she was the oldest of the three apprentices, and she 'should have known better'.
Hissing under her breath, she glanced at Honeypaw worriedly. "Come on, we have to stop him. The rocks aren't safe." She told her friend, before streaking after the younger tom. Desperate to stop him, she called out his name again, hoping he would hear her and at least listen to what she had to say. "Specklepaw!" If something happened... Hawkstar and Eagletalon would never forgive her. And she couldn't have that, not now. apprentice of stoneclan Fawn @teeks | background image | table by phoenix

Honeypaw's fur stood on end as she watched Speckledpaw race out of camp. Lurching forward after him, it was Heronpaw's voice of reason that halted her steps. "R-Right! You're right, sorry!" Of course it was dangerous to climb the rocks over the camp... He'd just... reminded her of Kitekit, in that moment. Kitekit would've tried something like that; a melancholic purr got stuck in Honeypaw's throat like a burr, but she forced herself to call Speckledpaw's name despite this. "Speckledpaw come back! You might get hurt!"
With her own paws thudding softly after the spotted tom's, Honeypaw's question were pushed breathlessly out into the open. "Should we climb up after him?" That wasn't safe either, but... but if they stayed here on the ground, and Speckledpaw got hurt... Honeypaw's ears flattened against her skull, the tabby skittering to the side as a small shower of pebbles rained down from the sloping rocky mountainside above, kicked loose by Speckledpaw's climbing attempts.
What do we do? Should they find a warrior? Honeypaw wasn't too keen on getting scolded in front of the whole Clan, and she wasn't keen on making leadership decisions either. But they had to do something, didn't they?

I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST Specklepaw, Apprentice of Stoneclan Specklepaw was so excited by the prospect of climbing to the top of camp, he didn't hear Heronpaw's call. His speckled form a blur of black and white fur. As he raced outside of camp, and turned around to find the best place to start climbing. Heronpaw and Honeypaw's concerned voices falling on deaf ears. This was going to be fun! He thought, as he skidded to a halt at the bottom of the rocky mound. His big leafy green eyes staring upwards, squinting in the sunshine. It was far larger than he remembered it being. Shaking his skull, he fluffs up his pelt. I can do this! He thought, quickly starting up the mound before the she-cats could gain on him. Kicking up bits of rock and dust as he went, Specklepaw started climbing. His paws finding any crevice they could get a grip on. His long tail swooshing behind him as he went. Below him he could hear some sort of commotion. Looking down, he notices neither Honeypaw or Heronpaw were climbing. "C'mon you snails!" He calls, quickly looking back upwards. He blinks his gaze to remove the dizzying height from his minds eye. Wondering what was keeping the other apprentices from joining him. Maybe their scared, he thought. No matter, it just meant he would win the race. Scrambling to get a better paw hold, Specklepaw suddenly kicks loose some larger bits of rock. His hind paws loosing their grasp, he lets out a meow of shock. Hanging precariously by only his front paws for several seconds, he finally regains a grasp with his hind claws. His heart now racing wildly. Meanwhile beneath him he'd sent large rocks tumbling down in a dangerous cascade. "Speech can be in this color"LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS

HERONPAW Skidding to a halt near the base of the wall of rocks, Heronpaw glanced up at the disappearing form of Specklepaw. Her shoulders heaved slightly as she fought to pull air into her lungs, still desperate to get him to hear her. "Specklepaw, get down from there it isn't safe!" Despite her efforts, the tom didn't appear to be listening. She considered calling louder, but she feared a warrior in camp would hear them, and that they would all get in trouble. With a hiss of annoyance, the eldest of the three apprentices was seconds away from starting up the stones after him when a clattering sound caught her attention.
Barely registering the way Specklepaw clung precariously to the rocks with only his front paws, Heronpaw's blue eyes snapped to the cascade of small pebbles skipping down the various stones. With the smaller ones came a larger boulder, easily dwarfing her in size. Her heart hammered against her chest, the cream and white feline feeling her limbs begin to lock up as panic clicked in. And then she realized the cascade of rocks was heading straight for them. Without much of a though, the bigger apprentice threw her weight toward her friend, crashing shoulders hard enough to knock the younger apprentice clear of the debris.
Staggering sideways, Heronpaw felt a couple of smaller pebbles collide with her chest just as the largest piece crashed onto the ground, bouncing a little ways off before coming to a stop somewhere behind them; she didn't really pay attention to where it went. Rapidly deciding that this was far outside their reach, Heronpaw glanced over at Honeypaw with wide blue eyes. "Run back to camp. Find a warrior. Anyone who knows how to climb well. Go!" Hoping her friend listened to her, the StoneClan apprentice focused on dodging anymore debris and calling out louder now that she didn't care about being overheard.

Tension gripped Honeypaw like the claws of a badger, and she gaped upwards in alarm as the speckled tom lost his footing. Oh no! She skittered back anxiously at the cascade of pebbles and larger rocks, her ears pressed flat to her skull as the very real possibility of getting hit finally struck. "Specklepaw! Come back, please!" She added her voice above the grinding noise of falling stones, but soon froze as shadows of large debris fell across the two she-cats on the ground.
With a startled yowl, Honeypaw was knocked sideways by Heronpaw's shoulder smashing into hers with enough force to bruise—the she-cat's head spinning as she stumbled away, stepping on some sharp rocks to cause a wince and a whimper both.
"Okay! Okay!" Scatterbrained but trying to regain some sense of direction, Honeypaw shook herself in one violent full-bodied shiver and raced back to camp, praying to StarClan that she wasn't too late. Her first thought was not to find Crimsonshadow, her mentor, or even Hawkstar, StoneClan's leader and Heronpaw's father. It was to find Vipertail. Honeypaw ignored this, instead nearly colliding with the first warrior she saw. "Skunkspots!"
The black and white she-cat's ears flattened against her skull, the warrior dropping a lizard on the fresh kill pile as if it had left a bad taste in her mouth. "What?"
"Specklepaw's climbing the rocks just outside of camp, and he almost fell! He won't come down!" She cast a wide golden gaze upon the she-cat, faintly aware of the uncertainty radiating off of the warrioress—as if she wished Honeypaw had asked any cat but her—the apprentice bounced on her paws with impatience. "He'll get hurt!"
Skunkspots nodded. "Then go! I'm right behind you."
Giddy with relief, Honeypaw turned and raced back to where her friends were, the black and white she-cat easily keeping up.
Breathless, Honeypaw stood next to Heronpaw, watching Skunkspots' attempted rescue of Specklepaw. The black and white she-cat was small, but she was nimble-footed, and traversed the rocks with an ease none of the apprentices had shown. "Specklepaw, stop moving." Skunkspots called, her claws unsheathing for traction as she slunk up the mountainside like a black-and-white shadow.

I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST Specklepaw, Apprentice of Stoneclan Specklepaw might not of heard the she-cats if it wasn't for the rock-fall. His attention caught not by their calls of warning, but Honeypaw's yowl. Tarring his concentration from climbing he took a glance downwards. Only to find that his rock-fall had nearly squashed his fellow apprentices. Shocked, his head spins with the height. Stoneclan cats weren't intended for climbing, something he was starting to understand. Clutching the rock for dear life, he finally heard the voices down below as they echoed his way. His name and stop yowled from Heronpaw who looked truly concerned by the proceedings. Limbs tired from the climb, Specklepaw starts to realize he couldn't keep going. His limbs having become too tired to proceed. Digging his claws against the rock, Specklepaw hung precariously on the side of the mound. His eyes now staring upwards as he tried to forget about the height beneath him. Perhaps this wasn't such a good idea... he thought bitterly. His heart sinking when a new voice met his ears, that of a warrior. Glancing down, he recognizes Skunkspots who was now shimmying her way towards him. " I couldn't go anywhere if I wanted to!" He calls back, letting out a huff. I'm not going to live this one down am I? He thought. Regretting his actions, Specklepaw is left to wait. His limbs screaming with the effort to keep him from falling. His mind whirling with thoughts. Surely he'd be getting in trouble for this. But how much trouble was the question?
