33 Moons. Loner. Tom. - "Crowblaze, catch up with Snowfrost at StarClan's Claws. Do you know the way?" Vibrant orange eyes glinted in the dark interior of the warriors' den; the large dark tabby stepped out, nodding solemnly to Bluewave. They were both large cats, and Crowblaze was one of the few toms apart from Vultureback and Gullswoop tall enough to look the deputy straight in the eyes. "I know it." Why am I going instead of Mothfoot? Because Mothfoot was one of the traitors... Right. Bluewave was fulfilling the role of leader and deputy lately, and the tom had probably gotten a few names mixed up. Hard to remember who had stayed and who had left. Crowblaze was quick to exit camp, aware of some of the warriors looking up in surprise at his unusual scent before they quickly settled, realizing who he was. His return to RainClan had happened during dire times, and it had shocked him to see Timberstar looking so ill. It had shocked him to see RainClan fall to pieces like this—and, when a younger Crowblaze might've stormed off again, sick of the infighting, this Crowblaze wasn't going anywhere. Now more than ever he wanted to keep a close watch on Gullswoop and Bitternwing. The walk to StarClan's Claws was quick, and when he noticed the white pelted she-cat craning her neck to spot someone in the distance, Crowblaze announced his presence with a loud mew. "There you are. Bluewave sent me to find you." Snowfrost jumped, nearly leaping out of her pelt. "W-What? No!" Her blue eyes were wide, fur fluffed out. Crowblaze snorted. What is YOUR problem? Just then, the scent of a LightningClan cat hit his scent glands the same moment as a pale warrior entered StarClan's Claws. "Snowfrost?" said an eager voice, the tom (Cougarleap's) stepping lightly until he noticed she was not alone. "O-Oh." Crowblaze rolled his eyes. What the hell was this supposed to be? A secret meeting? "You two were gonna meet up while you're supposed to be getting water for LightningClan? Real helpful." Even though he still smelled like a loner, he could still think like a Clan cat. And even he knew these two featherheads were making a mistake. Orange eyes narrowing, he glanced past the awkward Cougarleap to see if he could spot anyone else coming. Surely LightningClan knew better than to send ONE cat for water. we're all okay until the day we're not

It was with some annoyance that Gustclaw made his way toward the arching spires of StarClan’s Claws. There were three of them headed to the RainClan border to get some water for the rest of their clan, but Cougarleap had been quick to make some excuse and bound ahead of them before they could protest. That left him with Icewhisker by his side. While Gustclaw loved his older brother dearly, the white warrior was the type of cat one could only take in small doses, and he found himself tuning out, as usual, the odd correlations Icewhisker made between two completely unrelated objects (today, LightningClan had no water because Whiteshade’s and Cherrypool’s red eyes had scared the clouds away). He honestly wasn’t entirely sure the older cat realized how many of his clan mates didn’t actually listen to him.

”Sorry, we’re a little behind.” Finally, they arrived, and the silver tabby glanced at the two RainClan cats, ears flicking curiously as he noted that one didn’t seem to belong. He smelled more like a loner than a warrior, and Gustclaw watched him for a moment but didn’t say anything. It wasn’t his business to know the life stories of these cats; he was only here to get water – though it seemed Cougarleap had ulterior motives for volunteering for this job. He had caught the tail end of the loner-warrior’s words, but he didn’t need them to see the way those two gravitated toward each other. He was equally unimpressed. While he had not minded Mudpelt and his friendship with Pinkcloud, there was a time and a place for all of that, and neither of those was now.

Icewhisker spoke up, blue eyes watching the white she-cat inquisitively. “Can you hear ok?” He asked randomly. Gustclaw stared. “I was asked that once because I have white fur. I tried to tell him that it’s cats like him, with black fur, who are the ones to be concerned about though.” He lowered his voice in a conspiratorial whisper. “It’s black because he spends so much time in his den, and that means he can’t smell very well.” Gustclaw had no idea what to say. He glanced at the RainClan cats, half afraid of their reactions to his older brother. ”Come on, Icewhisker,” He grumbled, tail flicking. ”Let’s just get this water, okay?”

33 Moons. Loner. Tom. - The two cats caught in the spotlight were staying well away from each other, but anyone short of a blind squirrel could see that there was something between the two. Crowblaze ignored Cougarleap, his opinion no longer something the dark tabby was interested in, not when he was already so insensible. Clan loyalty was very important to him. He didn't want to overload the deputy (with Timberwing ill, there were enough problems in RainClan) but he'd not-so-subtly hint to Whitefrost that whatever she has going on with Cougarleap, that it would be in her best interests to stop. The white tom suddenly addressed Snowfrost, and both he and the cat the LightningClanner spoke to looked at him with nothing short of confusion. What is he talking about? Crowblaze searched the face of the silver tabby warrior beside him for some kind of answer, but didn't see one there. Snowfrost stammered a response. "U-Uh—" "He's right, let's just get the water. The sooner this will be over and we can all pretend today never happened." Crowblaze interjected, grouchy by the amount of weirdness that had passed by in the span of ten minutes. He signaled for the LightningClan cats to follow, leading them back to camp; Snowfrost hesitated like she might fall in step next to Cougarleap, but the other tom was wisely keeping his distance, stealing furtive glances he probably thought no one else could see.
