Sunpulse The light red tabby tom padded through the forest, back toward's NightClan's camp. He'd just been out hunting, which showed in the black bird that hung from his mouth. Somewhere behind the splayed feathers was a smaller body of a rodent he'd snagged not too long ago. Satisfied with his impromptu hunting trip, he was heading back to see if he might be needed by anyone. Since he'd finished training with Ghostlight, the tom didn't have much to do. He honestly didn't have that many friends, which didn't bother him much. As long as he had a patrol to attend every now and again, he was content with life.
Slipping into the shelter provided by the NightClan camp, the tom was padding past the medicine cat's den when he noticed the apprentice who was sitting just inside. Ears pricking in curiosity, the young tom glanced about. He'd heard about the border squirmish that one of the patrols had encountered, and figured that this young she-cat must have been a part of it. Taking a moment to think, he was pretty sure the apprentice's name had something to do with night. Moonpaw? Darkpaw? No.. That wasn't it. Maybe it was just Nightpaw...
Nightpaw sounded right. Approaching carefully, the red tom set the black bird down just inside the den, eyes swiftly taking in her appearance. "Pardon my intrusion, but herein lies confusion.. It seems your shoulder took a beating in a rather unfortunate meeting. I simply wish to inquire as to whether you hold any ire towards the injuring soul. And.. Might you allow me to console?" Bending slightly to nudge the bird closer to her, the tom then lowerd himself into a casual seated position. If she wanted to be left alone, he could easily walk away and take the rodent with him. If she didn't mind him there...
"Perhaps, if you do not mind, you might share with me in kind the story of your battle if you are not too rattled." Wincing slightly at the rather... Forced ending to his rhyme, he hoped she wouldn't notice his little slip up.

The black and white she-cat had been told to go and see Featherpaw once more. Just to be sure that her wound was healing correctly. The Medicine Cat had just told her to sit and wait for a little bit after having some herbs placed on her shoulder. She was also warned not to lick her wound, but it was hard not to. Nightpaw had to do everything in her power to ignore the feeling on her shoulder. Right as she was about to lick her shoulder though, the smell of a tom and a bird came to her. Her mouth started to water then for she had not eaten yet that morning.
She looked to the ginger tom who walked over beside her and she smiled lightly. She may be injured, but she was still polite as ever, except towards Blackfire. That is one she-cat she will never show respect or kindness again. She looked at the tom as he spoke and she knew who he was right away. There was only one cat in the camp who spoke in riddles, and that was Sunpulse.
She noticed as he nudged the bird closer to her and she dipped her head thankfully. "Thank you Sunpulse, and yes, I do hold a grudge, but I am not well enough nor old enough to act upon said grudge." She looked at him as he asked if he could console her and she nodded lightly. "I would love to have someone to talk to right now."
She took a bite from the bird as her ears flicked back to Sunpulse. Sure he would want to know. There was no venom in her thoughts, just an observation. She finished the mouthful of bird then and she cleared her throat lightly. "Blackwolf, Ghostlight, and I were walking the TreeClan border. There we met TreeClan's own little patrol consisting of Blackfire and Adderstrike. They both said some nasty things to Blackwolf because of the mix up.
She paused for a moment then and she looked down at her shoulder as she felt a pang if disappointment. "I had disappointed Blackwolf, I got put into the line of danger, and thus, I was unable to defend myself. Blackfire had grabbed me after Ghostlight, Blackwolf, and Adderstrike started to fight. She threatened Blackwolf with me, and while I tried to fight back, she dropped me, but not without leaving this scar on my shoulder." She finished her memory of the skirmish then and she looked at Sunpulse.
"I do not know if I have truly disappointed Blackwolf, but I have disappointed myself." She voiced her own worries about herself then and she took another nibble from the bird that laid in front of her. She was glad to be able to talk about this, but she still needed to know if Blackwolf was disappointed, or if he was just worried. She let those thoughts go though and she looked back at Sunpulse.

Sunpulse Sunpulse listened with interest, his tail curling over his paws. He purred softly in delight as she accepted the bird he'd offered her, but didn't interrupt her as she spoke. Genuine curiosity was reflected in those eyes of his, and for the time being, while he was conversing with Nightpaw, nothing mattered other than the black and white she-cat. When she finished, voicing her concern over disappointing her mentor, the red tabby tom frowned. His own mentor had seemed very close to Blackwolf, so the rhyming tom had some experience around the NightClan warrior. To say that he was easily impressed would be a big fat lie.
Lifting his tail from where it lay on the ground, he gave her uninjured shoulder a comforting flick, accompanied by a grin. "Knowledge of Blackwolf I do posses, and over this do not obsess. Many moons do lie ahead, with many words still left unsaid. Time continues in its flow and there's one thing that I do know; This news I'll share with you aloud, you'll find a way to make him proud." After all, he'd never been the greatest apprentice at anything. Not an extraordinary hunter nor fighter, he'd just done his best. That had seemed to work for Ghostlight.
He was aware that Ghostlight and Blackwolf were different cats, but surely there was still some pride to be found when a warrior watched their prodigy move from apprentice to join the ranks of warrior. He knew that he would be proud if he ever was given the chance of teaching his very own apprentice. Flicking those future thoughts away with a wave of his tail, he brought his focus back onto Nightpaw. "If there's anything that I might do to help in training that you pursue, don't hesitate to call my name, and we'll throw aside your fears of shame."
That genuine, true smile was back as he met the she-cat's gaze with ease. He understood how nerve wracking it could be to be an apprentice, the depth of your desire to please your mentor, to make them proud. The trick was not to trip yourself up in your concerns and worries. If Nightpaw let him, maybe he could lend a paw, find a way to help calm her down when she got a bit too nervous. For him, he'd lapsed into repeating little rhymes in his head. Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight...

She noticed that he had listened intently, and she liked that. Not many cats actually listened to what she said, they just went through the motions. She smiled lightly at the simple gesture of him listening then. Wait a second, he is a warrior, I cannot feel like this! She scolded herself mentally as she realized what exactly she was starting to feel. She sighed lightly though and she listened to his next rhyme. The way he spoke intrigued her, and she kind of liked it. It was new, and it was interesting to the young she-cat.
She felt the fur of his tail brush against her good shoulder and she looked back at him. During her thoughts, she had been nibbling on the bird once more, and now that he had jarred her back to the present, she noticed that the bird was now gone. She chuckled lightly at herself and she thought on his words as well. She smiled as she thought on his words and she looked at him. Her black and white tail flicked over to his and it brushed against his shoulder in return.
"Thank you Sunpulse for the reassurance. It is something I truly needed." She had a genuine smile on her face as she spoke to him. She was liking the presence of this tom, but as she thought on it, she thought she remembered Blackwolf saying how much this tom annoyed him. If there was one thing she had always wanted to do, was to have something under her tail that annoyed Blackwolf. She thought it would be fun to have this advantage, though advantage for what, she never knew.
As he spoke of his offer to help her, she snapped back to the present once more and she looked at him. There was shock in her eyes as he spoke, and it soon turned to gratitude. "I would love to have your help in my training." She replied softly then. She purred lightly at the thought of how nice this tom was being, and how it made her feel special. Should she really be feeling this way?

Sunpulse Noticing that the pretty black feline has finished her meal, the red tabby shifted and reached for it, collecting the bones and remaining scraps into a pile that he could easily carry out later on. Once his conversation with Nightpaw had safely come to a close, of course. Eyes flicked down to his shoulder as her tail tip flicked him, and he chuckled, enjoying the time spent with the she-cat. She was a kind soul, and easy to get along with. She really seemed interested in what you had to say, an intelligent glimmer, a desire to learn resting behind those yellow eyes.
Eyes like the sun do make my heart run... Smirking softly to himself, he nodded his head, lowering himself into something resembling a bow. He straightened again before speaking in a slightly lilting voice, one that went perfectly with his choice in speech patterns. "The pleasure is all mine, if but to see you shine." Ear pivoted slightly at the sound of pawsteps, but they headed off in a different direction before reaching the medicine cat's den. He found a certain amount of relief in this fact, having feared that he would be called away from Nightpaw's side to go perform one of the duties he was obligated to do as a warrior of NightClan.
He'd gone hunting already. Surely he could spend a little more time here? His visit seemed to brighten Nightpaw's mood considerably, and he liked that. He liked seeing her happy. Happiness suited her. It brightened up those beautiful eyes of hers. Purring in response to her acceptance, he settled in a little more comfortably, slipping into the den a little ways so that he wasn't blocking all of the light that tried to filter into the medicine cat's den. It wasn't easy to do within NightClan's camp, after all.
"But of course we will wait until that pain abates. No sense in training with pain still reigning. I don't think I'd like witnessing pain strike." It should be my duty to protect such beauty..

The tom had moved her remains from in front of her and she looked at him and smiled lightly. He was nice, and she thought that it was good to have someone whom she could talk to. She had not yet figured out how to talk to Blackwolf, and she was kind of scared to after the skirmish. She heard his chuckle though when she touched his shoulder with her tail and she felt flushed. She ignored these thoughts and she tried to think of something else.
That was when his rhyming words entered her ears and she smiled then as she looked back at him. She heard the paw steps then as she and she winced a little as she thought that Blackwolf would be coming to check on her, but when they passed, she relaxed and sighed lightly. "That was a close call for both of us wasn't it." She spoke of him not doing his warrior duties, and her not wanting to be scolded for not fighting back properly.
She was dreading the thought of him actually leaving her side, which was something odd to her. But she let it go and she looked around the den. Featherpaw had disappeared and she saw more light filter into the den and she looked at Sunpulse. He had moved slightly so more sunlight could get in and she purred lightly. She felt flushed once more before she spoke then. "Then after I heal, we can hold our of sessions." As she said that, she was liking the idea more and more.

Sunpulse He found himself waiting for her to speak again, hanging on to the sound of her voice. What he would do to hear her one more time... His tabby tail flicked slightly, tucking near his paws. He met her brilliant golden eyes again, and couldn't help the smile that spread. Pale red tabby ears pivoted forward as she commented on the paw steps they had both heard approaching. He chuckled again, nodding in agreement. "Sharp words I would receive, and I'd be forced to leave." He didn't like that she was so concerned with the scolding she might get from Blackwolf.
Ghostlight had been good to him. Patient when he was learning, thorough in her training. She tried to adapt her teaching techniques to how he learned best. Apprenticeship was a time to make mistakes and to learn from them, not to be so terrified of making a mistake that you dreaded the moment your mentor would walk into the same den as you. He managed to keep the frown from his features, although he would admit it was just barely. Tipping his head slightly, his eyes brightened at her next words. He was glad she agreed to his proposal.
He would take any heat from Blackwolf if the older tom thought he might be encroaching on mentorship. He didn't care if he got in trouble, as long as she felt more comfortable, more relaxed. He wouldn't mind spending the rest of his days making sure she was happy. It was a bizarre notion to the tom, especially considering how young he still was, but one that didn't bother him. If she was happy, then he would be happy. "Once your pain abates, our first session awaits. I eagerly count the days until your skills we might appraise, and learn of the warrior ways."
So what if he was encroaching on Blackwolf's territory. For her? He'd fight. I can't help but find it odd... This sudden brave façade...

NIGHTPAW of NightClan 06 Moons. She-Cat. Apprentice
When his eyes met hers, she quickly looked to the ground. She was starting to get nervous and shy, which would explain the look away. But she knew that he had smiled, for he could hear it in his voice. But she could also hear the concern, which she liked, but was also worried about. She didn't know how Blackwolf would like the beginning of this relationship. "But what if I don't want you to leave?" The question was innocent, but at the same time, it wasn't. She was truly curious about that now that she had asked the question.
She wondered how he had been with his training from Ghostlight. She knew that the older she-cat was careful, but she was still caring, she had shown that on the patrol. But as she thought of that, she thought of her own training. Blackwolf was a good mentor, but he was strict. She liked that, but at the same time, it made her wonder if she was going to change in her personality? She looked up at him though and she could have sworn she had seen a frown, but it wasn't there a few moments later.
But she saw a small smile appear when she agreed to his proposal, and she forgot all about the frown she thought she had seen. She liked how he was willing to make her happy, but she wanted to make him happy as well. Which was odd for her. "I cannot wait Sunpulse." She loved the way he was always rhyming and she wondered if he was made fun of, or hated for it. Her curiosity was starting to get the best of her now. "Sunpulse, I love how you rhyme. I think it is fun and new." She finally commented on the tom's way of speech, and she was glad that she did.
She flicked her tail lightly and it wrapped around her paws. Her injured shoulder twitched though and she looked to see a fly on it and she swatted at it with her other paw.
