Bluekit
The day that she no longer had to stay confined to the limits of the nursery would prove a wonderful day on its own. Upon that day she would be free to explore. She could fulfill the duties of an apprentice, and shape herself into a warrior that could make TreeClan proud. Of course, she wished not to rush herself through her youth. These were, supposedly, the best days of her life: She was free to be the innocent kitten that everyone excepted her to be. She did not have obligations, responsibilities—even her limitations could often be bent with the batter of her lively eyes. Though, she was not one to test the code. She followed pridefully in its wake, as it enlisted to her the duties she would one day be expected to uphold. She only wished that nowadays the older, wiser cats of her clan expected such things of her. Sure, she was just a kitten. She hadn't yet experienced the hardships of clan-life, though that was needless to say that she was not mentally preparing for it. She didn't think that anybody she spoke to about her wishes would chance to take her seriously. She was supposed to enjoy her easygoing lifestyle while it lasted, and as much as she was trying to do so, a part of her could not wait for the chapter that was to come.
However, could her self entitled duties be so easily forgotten? There was obligations of her own that had been created; duties she upheld diligently because they represented her youthful beliefs and values. She strove for equality—spoke as the voice that solely interpreted right from wrong through the eyes of the disabled and lesser capable. As of now, she was doing the bare minimum. There was not many around her that heard her voice, whether it was due to the small pitch or simply the fact that she was a kitten and nobody suspected that what she had to say would be of any importance to them as of now. If only they knew. She could not wait to step out into the world and declare her prophecies—not the kind that was seen only by medicine cats, but instead the kind that a simplistic mind could only begin to fathom and wish to elaborate upon. She wanted the forest, in its whole, to see that she had great ideas that would better those of TreeClan and eventually all of the clans too. There was a lot of wrong doings in the world, and she didn't need to be an apprentice or a warrior to understand that to some extent. An observer, as she was, could interpret a few things from the facial expressions of those that passed by the nursery on plentiful a morning, afternoon and evening that she dwindled away her time seated delicately at its opening. Some cats seemed worried, while others were nothing but jovial. She liked to see the happiness upon the faces of a selective group, as it gave her hope that not all goodwill was lost upon the cats. Sometime, she couldn't help but only consider what of the clans was wrong. Living in the shadow of Mistfur and Ebonykit gave her enough of a reason to think that there was many hearts out there made of absolutely no empathy, not even sympathy. She liked to think that she understood everything there was to know about why cats behaved so cruelly at times. But, her mother and sister was merely one case, and that was far from enough experience.
Needless to say that she was not willing to take some guidance from a wise cat of her clan that perhaps had faced a few extra situations. She wanted to know everything there was to know about what it was she represented: Equality and fairness. Surely, there was somebody that would like to take some time out of their busy schedules to enlighten the mind of a curious kit? Sure, as of now, she could not do anything but listen with attentive, blue-ticked ears. But, what about in the future? What about when she was an apprentice or a warrior? She would remember all of the stories—she would remember because they were stories that held meaning and purpouse in her blue eyes. It would be extra drive for her. Extra initiative to explore the world and correct the incorrect.
Sure, she was just a kitten. Her mind wasn't yet in place. She had a lot to learn, and learn she planned on doing. With such thoughts curdling through her mind and busying her with nothing in particular, frosted eyes blinked repeatedly as she rested her head atop of small forepaws, surveying the TreeClan lands she was not yet permitted to absently wander. Watch out, TreeClan! I will make sure that I do great things.
