Description:
Silentkit's markings have yet to fully disperse: the majority of his body is cloaked in an ashy-white colouration, the darker grays that will one day consume his ears, facial region, paws and lower limbs as of now limited to the outlining of his ears, his paws, and around the tip of his nose. His tiny, kit-like features fail to portray the tall, slender male he'll grow to be, right now having him appear lanky and disproportionate. With time, however, he'll become lithe and agile – ghostly precise, and one with meticulous maneuvers of utmost silence.
Silentkit's eyes are, currently, a mysteriously pale blue that is partially faded by near-white splotches. They present themselves like glass; an eerily blank sheet that is seemingly always focused upon anything but the origin of whomever wishes to receive his attention. By early apprenticeship this white hue will have fully subsided, the pigmentation of his eyes remaining pale, though far more noticeably blue.
Description Summary:
An ash-white tom with smoke-gray markings and pale blue eyes.
Personality:
Absent of the inclination to put his vocals to use, Silentkit remains of a nature true to his identification. Having been named based entirely off of this trait upon joining StoneClan's ranks, he remains fitted to what is believed his disability. If ever to be prodded at for, what is assumed, his muteness, he would still remain visibly unaffected and overall disinclined to speak. It's mostly to due with the fact that insults fail to do anything surpassed slipping through his ears like the pointless input they are, though it could be argued that he's so utterly lost in his own thoughts as to fail to give those around him the recognition they likely seek to receive. Factually, ever since the death of Silentkit's mother, he has found himself lost in thought upon eerie, unpredictable concepts.
Death.
It's a curious concept to contemplate, and Silentkit has found himself thoroughly intrigued. He's curious of the terror that pumps through the veins of one faced with their final moments, of the way blood pools from their wounds and drains the life from their eyes in turn, of how bones – fragile as they are – are able to painfully crack and cause a cat to suffer injury and a disability of their own for a time dependent upon the severity. There's plentiful a way for a cat to encounter death, or something relatively similar, and Silentkit has found himself curious of all of these various methods – to the point he cannot help himself from wishing to try them out.
With such a craving that, on numerous accounts, will spur this young tom into action follows an unusual contradiction: he wishes not to bestow pain upon another cat. Silentkit is constantly bombarded by the urge to fulfill his ominous longing, and his logical side that keeps him at a safe, reliable distance. Believe it or not, the tom is genuinely submissive. Such an aura as this is increasingly portrayed with his lack of speech, but if the tom – his claws having an unnatural taste for blood at his young age – was ever approached and regarded angrily by another for causing someone harm, he would do little, if anything, to defend himself. Innocence inscribes itself upon Silentkit's features instinctively, such probably able to rid him of consequence if he was a little less messy in his actions and able to cover them up. In the future Silentkit will be far more talented in covering up his tracks, but as a kit, he fails to know better.
Constantly juggling whether or not to put his cravings into action or spare a living, breathing feline the pain is hard on this tom's mind. He seeks someone to rely on desperately, someone that he can follow like a puppet on tightly wound strings so that he is not required to make such horrid decisions for himself. It's yet another odd factor in Silentkit's collection: seeing someone be more than willing to have their life seemingly lead for them. But, in his own personal opinion, it'd supply him with wondrous amounts of relief. If the decision to kill, to cause pain and to test the limits of a feline's fragility is not a decision that he is making on his own, then he is not meant to feel bad for fulfilling the words of another, right?
Right.
History:
Born to the newly rogue pair: Rose and Wolf alongside his sister, Minnow, Jade (as was named at the time) was destined to grow absent of a clan to rely on, his overall successes left upon the shoulders of his mother and father, dependent upon whether or not they could keep him safe. Jade was born with, what was assumed by his family members, a lack of vocals, otherwise referred to as muteness. Unknown to his family was that Jade possessed the ability to speak but simply chose not to, seemingly unconcerned with the task of enlightening them of the truth. Perhaps in the future Jade will feel the inclination to speak and inform them that he is, factually, not mute. But as of now, he's not bothered with being believed of having such a disability. There has yet to be any true reason for him to verbally address another, therefore he remains quiet and contently so.
He lost his mother when he was very young, therefore unable to perceive the situation as clearly as he would have perhaps liked, though able to register her disappearance nonetheless. His “muteness” did not allow him to reveal whatever emotions such a loss arose from him, but what Wolf and Minnow do not know is that Rose's death did not effect him in a way that it did them. Instead of being pained by the loss of his mother or engulfed by terror for the creature that claimed her life, Jade found himself immensely intrigued in the cause of it. He was curious of how death was bestowed upon another, how it effected those involved, and most certainly of how the experience was lived through the eyes of the newly deceased. Wolf and Minnow believed him to be struck by tragedy as much as they were, his “inability” to voice aloud such sentimentality only pushing such a thought deeper into their minds. The young tom's newly unlocked curiousity, as eerie as it is, remains a factor unknown to his sister and father. He has done nothing to reveal such attributes within himself, and has no drive of doing so as of yet. For the time being, Jade is content in unspoken observation, left to remain upon the sidelines and examine as his heart desires. It's only a matter of time before such will no longer be satisfactory, but as of now, it's nobody's concern other than his own.
It wasn't long after Rose's death that Minnow, too, passed on. Due to malnutrition -- deprived of her mother's milk -- Minnow was unable to survive, the loss but another tragedy for the family, now solely consisting of two members. Just like Rose's death did not effect him, Minnow's did not either. It was another perception of death, on in which highly intrigued the young tom-kit. It was shortly after Minnow's death that Wolf began to think he wasn't capable of taking care of Jade and keeping him alive, gifting the tom-kit with the opportunity to depart and live amongst the clans. Jade -- possessing no attachments to his father that lead him to want otherwise -- readily accepted the offer, approaching his new life with curious strides in the direction of StoneClan.
[When Wolf and Riversong establish a stronger bond and Wolf joins StoneClan under the name of Runningwolf, that is when newly named Silentkit and his father will reestablish the bond they lost when his son left for StoneClan before him -- Silentkit named after being “mute” since he will still have yet to speak a word, therefore leaving everyone to believe him of possessing this disability upon joining StoneClan. When he joins, nobody will know as of yet that Jade/Silentkit can actually speak.]
Other:
Just so that everyone is aware, the position that is side-line referred to in Silentkit's personality isn't up for grabs! Bonekit, the future son of Frozenrain/Hawkstar that will be roleplayed by Fawn, is planned on being the "puppeteer" of Silentkit's actions.
