~~Gentlebreeze~~
The sun was bright in the late afternoon sky as a cooling breeze flushed away the oncomming heat that announced that Greenleaf was just around the corner, even though Newleaf had just begun. Bright orange-yellow rays trickled in through th small cracks of the Warrior's Den. Gentle green eyes opened as a yawn spread the jaws of the white warrioress who was awoken from her afternoon nap. Sitting up and streching, she turned to run her tongue against her bright white fur, smoothing it and cleaning it free of moss that may have stuck to it. After shaking out her newly cleaned pelt, the white she-cat made her way around the empty nests and out into the Treeclan Camp clearing.
Pretty green eyes adjusted to the sudden light that entered her orbs before blinking away sleep and blindness. The scent of fresh prey turned the Treeclan warrior's head towards where the healthy pile was waiting to be picked at. She had been on the Dusk patrol to hunt and then went out again on the Dawn patrol to re-check the borders, she deserved a nice shrew or mouse. Before padding over to where her stomach desired, the white she-cat made sure to stop by the nursery. You see, Gentlebreeze was a romantic and she was inlove with kits, everything about them made her heart sweel and made her purr sweetly. Someday the bright white she-cat hoped to find a mate, one that could sweep her off her paws and gve her the life she wants, a large family with many kits that she loved with all her heart.
A purr echoed from her throat as she touched noses to the kits who poked their heads out of the Nursery hole to see her. She knew that a couple of the kits inside the nursery would soon be apprenticed, but she still loved to visit them. Flicking her tail over one kit and rolling it on it's back, she tickled it's belly with her paw before padding off, tail waving behind her happily. Her green eyes caught sight of her handsome leader finishing off ordering a patrol, her head tipped to the side as she glanced at the pile and decided to take him a peice of prey. With a skip in her step she bent her head to grab a grackle and a blackbird, before heading over to greet Lionstar with a dip of her head.
The pretty she-cat dropped the grackle at Lionstar's paws once the cats that surrounded him dispersed to get on with their daily duties. After placing her own peice down at her paws she gave a gentle purr, "Hungry?" She asked with a soft, happy look apon her mawl. Her tail curled around her paws as she waited to chew into the blackbird at her own paws, her eyes bright and gentle as her purr continued to rumble deep in her chest.

[smear:f5c633]LIONSTAR[/smear:000000] That Grayowl. Those words were almost growled out of slight frustration and apprehension, as if he could not read the clever, reserved tom and was all the more embittered because of it. A sixth sense told him to keep an eye on Grayowl, and he had not shared these suspicions with anyone - not until he had proof beyond a hunch that Grayowl was worth the fuss. Catching a white shape approaching out of the corners of his eyes, deep golden orbs shifted to their corners, Lionstar turning to see a pretty white she-cat with newleaf-green eyes bringing over two pieces of prey - one for him, as made clear by her setting it at his paws, and one for her.
Having not yet had the chance to go out hunting for himself, only the Clan, Lionstar was grateful, though surprised by her welcomed gesture. With a curt dip of his head in greeting, the golden tom shifted his tail to that she would have space to sit, the golden and black-ticked plume swept around the overly large paws he had become so well known for. "Yes I am, thanks. How are things, Gentlebreeze?" He mewed, mane brushing against the grass beneath their paws as he bent down to take a bite of the grackle Gentlebreeze had given him; have I ever actually had a conversation with her since becoming leader? He was sure he'd spoken to Gentlebreeze before, but Lionstar couldn't help but note, with a twinge of guilt, that he'd been so busy lately, keeping track of the apprentices, and hounding those who mentored them that the opportunity to socialize with his own Clan-mates beyond nagging and ordering had flat-out escaped him.
With the weather warming up, the stiff, overly business-minded tom was attempting to thaw out of the icy relationship he had with his Clanmates and same-aged cats, the presence of Gentlebreeze allowing Lionstar the opportunity to simply... relax. With a still-warm grackle on his tongue and the greenleaf scent on the wind, Lionstar felt some of the tension leave his shoulders that had been originally put there by Grayowl, having just ordered the tom to depart with two others for a patrol. It was still so early in the day - what reason did he possibly have to get all wound up?
Conscious of the company, he allowed the she-cat to talk first, intending to be the polite one here and let Gentlebreeze chat or discuss whatever was on her mind, Lionstar grateful for the easy, pleasant conversation.

~~Gentlebreeze~~
The white she-cat sat down next to the handsome golden and black tomcat as her warm green eyes looked at him as he spoke. He was a couple of ear-lengths taller than her, but she didn't mind. It wasn't like she was a little she-cat. She reached down to take a bite of her blackbird, waiting to swallow it before she anwsered his question. The sun shined down, warming her white pelt as she sat next to the Treeclan leader, her fur bustling in the cool wind that ran through the clan camp. After swallowing her prey she shook out her fur and turned her warm gaze towards Lionstar to speak to him.
She hadn't really socialized with her leader before now, but she didn't let that bother her. She would make herself known and have him know that she was there for him and to help."It's good." She purred, "Obviously we have enough prey," Her tail flickered over to the pile of prey that was pretty big. "And last night when I went hunting, I was able to catch a bunch of mice and shrew." She purred, "Also, on the Dawn Patrol, the scents were strong and no sign of other clans crossing our borders so far." Her had a smile on her white mawl as she turned her warm orbs onto the face of Lionstar, staring into his amber eyes. "We are going to have a wonderful Greenleaf."
She said happily, her purr strong and her eyes bright.Gentlebreeze's eyes trailed from Lionstar to the Nursey, "The only thing that would make it better is once those seven kits become apprentices, we have more kits occupy the nursery. Kits are alwasy a good thing, always good to have them." She said, her eyes showing her love for the little bundles of energy and fur as her purr grew a bit stronger. She turned her eyes back to Lionstar, those warm green orbs so full of life and energy and gentleness. Any cat could see that she was a proud Treeclan warrioress, so happy and delighted to be apart of the clan that lived in the forest.
Stooping her white head, she dipped to take a couple more bits of the blackbird at her white paws before shaking out her fur after swallowing the warm bits of food inside her jaws. She turned her gaze back towards the handsome tomcat next to her. "How about we do something? Go on a hunt or a walk. I'm sure you could do with something that isn't so stressfull." She purred, tilting her head to the side in a cute manner. Her voice soft, gentle and on accident, alluring and persasive. Her brother, Adderstrike, had told her on several occasions that she was flirting with toms that she spoke to. But she never knew that she did it, she was just being herself, gentle and sweet.

LIONSTAR TreeClan || 39 Moons At first golden-eyed glance, Lionstar had taken Gentlebreeze for a predictably nice, none-too-extraordinary a she-cat, but that had been his first mistake. Save for the newborn kits, there wasn't a cat in TreeClan who was none-too-extraordinary, and Lionstar mentally scolded himself for thinking her to be so shallow of his emotions. Kind, sweet, but shallow in her feelings. That wasn't the case at all. Listening to the pleasant chatter of hunting and the promising words of an excellent greenleaf, Lionstar, licking his chops from the remains of the grackle he had admittedly devoured a little faster than he probably should've - he hadn't had much chance to savor it, considering how much his stomach would have protested otherwise - and turned his attentions on Gentlebreeze.
She certainly lived up to her name.
The compassionate, soft glance she cast at the nursery was enough for him to get a grasp of her personality that he had likely lost in light of so many obligations, personal and Clan-related. What caught him by surprise, however, was the alluring purr with which she spoke, Lionstar's whiskers twitching in surprise at the - if he was not mistaken - flirtatious manner Gentlebreeze used when she interacted with him. That doesn't make any sense. Why would she be trying to flirt with me, of all toms? Lionstar didn't necessarily consider himself unavailable, or unattractive, but to suddenly have this kind of attention from a cat he did not know as well as he should've did not align itself with logic of any kind, leaving the golden tom slightly confused.
That is, until reality kicked in and Lionstar almost snorted with a mixture of disbelief and relief. He had no idea how to respond to that kind of attention - and fortunately, he wasn't getting that kind of attention at all. She's doing it subconsciously. When Gentlebreeze spoke, it was calming and inviting all in one sweeping wave, and when she interacted in that perhaps overly friendly manner of hers, Lionstar could see how she might accidentally lead a cat around by their whiskers with her unintentional forwardness.
Even still, she was right. He did need a break for something that was less stressful. "A walk first, and then hunting." Mewed Lionstar pleasantly, shifting out of his seated position to stretch, front limbs extending until a pleasant 'pop' and a sigh eventually had him straightening, ready to be on their way. The statement about the seven kits had not been lost on him at all - rather, Lionstar had cataloged it away for later, thoughts ever-revolving around apprentices in general. "Have you not yet had an apprentice, Gentlebreeze?"
He hated to ask. As a Clan leader, as a former deputy who had taken it upon himself to be as involved and conscious of the interactions of his Clanmates as much as possible, he should already know this. But, Lionstar inwardly pleading his case, had been forced to deal with quite a few things that were out of his control – death of Smallshine and Spottedfeather being the two main causes of distraction.
But those days were done, Elderpaw's training was coming along surprisingly well, and Daringheart was proving to be a satisfactory deputy. They had made it through one of the toughest Leafbares Lionstar had ever seen – but it was exactly as Gentlebreeze had said.
TreeClan was thriving.

~~Gentlebreeze~~
Blackbird bones lay at her paws as a rough pink tongue emerged from her jaws to lick at her pretty white fur. The she-cat's ears twitched before swirving towards Lionstar to listen as his deep voice spoke. A walk before hunting sounded like a good idea. Her tail flickered as she pulled it over her paws to run her tongue against it, pulling a few specks of sand from the ground out of it. Moving her bright green orbs from her tail towards Lionstar's face, she tilted her head slightly, thinking of his question. An apprentice huh?
Gentlebreeze shook her head, her jaws parted to speak as she did so, "Not yet." She said in her soft voice, she lifted her head to look somewhat level with the leader next to her. The Treeclan warrioress stood to strech out before she spoke again. "I wouldn't mind having one, but i'm sure there are more acceptable warriors than me. I'd like an apprentice, but i'm more of a she-cat who wants a family more than anything." She smiled at Lionstar before she jumped a bit on her paws. "Well, shall we get on that walk?" She purred, her eyes glinted with mischive and excitement.
It was an excellent day for a run or walk and the bright eyed she-cat was happy about spending sometime with her leader, she wanted to get to know him and well, he better want to get to know her. She wouldn't give up without a fight, she found that the more you intereact with all of your clanmates, the more they are there for you. She was already on a great track with Brokensong, the mute she-cat and her were getting along famously. Not to mention that Gentlebreeze was one of those cats that others are just naturally drawn too, because of her gentle, protective nature and her loving, life fulling attitude.
With a sweep of her tail, Gentlebreeze let the tip of it brush Lionstar's nose playfully before trotting towards the entrance, her gaze drifted over her shoulder as she called back to him, "Is there a badger on your paws? Come on mouse-brain!" Her voice holding the tone of playfulness and amusement as she pushed past the entrance barrier, letting the growing leaves brush against her soft, white fur. Her bright green orbs looked around as she walked along, waiting for the handsome leader to catch up to her so that they may begin their walk through Treeclan's growing forests.

LIONSTAR TreeClan || 39 Moons I'm glad I asked. I'll have to assign one of the seven to another warrior then. It wasn't that Gentlebreeze would make a poor mentor, he didn't think that at all, he was merely well aware of the she-cat's personal preference for raising a family rather than raising a would-be warrior. "I'm sure you'll be a great mother some day," he mewed encouragingly, quickening his step at her soft teasing, the brightness in her eyes infectious as the handsome golden tom attempted to keep pace. It wasn't hard. With paws as unusually large and sturdy as his, Lionstar's stride was easy and confident, easily outpacing the pretty white she-cat as though she were an energetic apprentice.
Chuckling, Lionstar inhaled deeply the warm summer air, feeling the stress begin to lift from his being as he allowed the scents and sounds of the forest to momentarily overwhelm him, washing away the tension between his shoulder blades and the hardness of his eyes the longer he let his mind simply wander free. Attempting to break through the shackles of obligation and other work-related thoughts pressing down on the golden leader, Lionstar struck up an amiable conversation with Gentlebreeze, making note of one of her brothers, the, uh, aggressive one. "How is Adderstrike? And the rest of your family?"
Lionstar presumed this to be the easiest way to strike up a decent chat with Gentlebreeze; he couldn't say he knew a ton about her or her kin, but he had come to the conclusion that discussing her brothers would provide Gentlebreeze with plenty to talk about, and would provide him with more than enough feedback on the potential mentor candidates he was searching for. Would you stop focusing on your duties, furball? You're having a nice walk with a nice she-cat that has nothing to do with anything, can't you just relax?
Trying to take his own advice, Lionstar almost let out a snort of dry humor. If Sagefur could see him right now, he'd give him such a cuff over the ears he'd probably see stars. Why oh why had his thoughts become so work-focused? Why did it consume his every waking moment? It was as if he had fallen into a lake, only able to come up for air intermittently before he was dragged back under. And here she was, a dainty, friendly if not accidentally flirtatious she-cat with white fur and green eyes, attempting to act like a piece of driftwood, something to cling to and momentarily keep his had above the surface for longer than a few minutes at a time.

~~Gentlebreeze~~
A trill of amusement left the white she-cat's throat in the form of a purr at the handsome tom's statement of her being a great mother. Her tail waved around behind her as she turned her bright green eyes towards him to watch him. She wouldn't lie, and she was sure no other she-cat would lie about it either, but he was a handsome tom, and she was willing to say that him being leader had nothing to do with it. She loved the color blend of his golden and brown fur and the plume of fur around his name help with his lion-like aspect. Her ears twitched as he brought up another subject. Adderstrike, as well as her younger siblings, Sunstride and Moonshimmer. He was no doubt still trying to be a leader, rather than a tom on a walk.
A laugh left her throat, stopping her gentle purr, also causing her to stop padding through the undergrowth to look at Lionstar, her eyes full of amusement at his work ethics. "Come onn now, Lionstar." She tilted her head to the side. "If you want a straight anwser, you just have to ask. I'd give Sunstride an apprentice before Adderstrike." She padded around him, curling her body against his and letting her tail follow her like a furry white snake before stopping back where she was before. "Let oose, enjoy a moment of not being a leader."
Gentlebreeze flickered her tail again, her eyes twinkling with mischive and amusement before padding forwards to run her rough tongue against Lionstar's cheek before purring heavily. With that, she crouched and took off, scattering leaves as she raced through the forest, her voice falling back behind her and floating along the wind towards her leader, "Catch me if you can!" She cried. Sure, it was a bit kit-ish, but he needed to loosen up a bit and not be so stressed, and what better way than to have a bit of fun. Her white pelt flashed through the trees.

LIONSTAR TreeClan || 39 Moons Lionstar's ears flattened sideways in a mixture of surprise and bewilderment, as if he understood her actions but did not understand the reason behind her actions - the flirtatious style of friendliness Gentlebreeze seemed to enjoy using had likely led many a tom right out of his wits, assuming her feelings were anything beyond platonic. I can't tell if she's doing it on purpose or is unaware of how her behavior might be received. Refraining from calling the pretty white she-cat out on her coquetry, not wanting to offend or somehow ruin her efforts to distract him from every obligation and worry he would have to face once he went back to camp. If it gets out of paw, if she starts causing too much trouble with the warriors because of her behavior, I'll let her know. Until then, however, Lionstar was okay with letting his awkwardness win, and refrained from encouraging her advances or letting them get to him too much.
When she moved forward to lick his cheek, however, Lionstar's skin flashed hot beneath his pelt, and he impulsively opened his mouth as though to ask what she thought she was doing, but Gentlebreeze had taken off trying to entice a game of chase. Well anyone who sees us is going to get the wrong idea. He found his muscles bunching, however, as a powerful surge of energy sent the golden feline after his smaller companion in a blur of bright golden motion, racing through the patches of sunlight in hot pursuit. It was fun to run for the sake of running, and while some of the tenseness had begun to lift like a fog cleared away by the wind, Lionstar still felt reserved, trying to keep up appearances of being a strong, dependable leader despite the she-cat purposefully telling him to stop it.
He had fallen out of touch with his Clan. He had forgotten how to...be anything BUT a leader, and Lionstar, kicking up leaves and turning sharply around the wide trunk of a maple, wasn't sure if that was such a bad thing. After all, to dedicate his life to his Clan, his mind, body and spirit to the well being of TreeClan had been what he had pledged to do, wasn't it? Did that leave any room to make more friends? Realizing she was getting away from him once he had grown distracted by an ever present flurry of thoughts, Lionstar shook his head to clear it, reveling in the joy it brought him to just stop thinking. Teeth showing in a grin, the lion-like tom charged out from beneath a bright berry bush to launch himself at Gentlebreeze, intending to catch and pin her to the earth with little effort, mindful of how much smaller the white cat was. Gotcha.

~~Gentlebreeze~~
The sound of Lionstar's faultered steps caught up to the racing white she-cat's ears as she pelted forwards, pumping her legs to boost her. She knew that the larger tom would catch up to her in no time, despite his delayed reaction to her racing off and the fact that he had slowed down, probably thinking to hard again. Her tail streamed out behind her as she weaved in and out of trees that blocked her path and over and under a couple of logs that had fallen down from their previous resting placies. Her muscles burned and the sun was making her white fur grow hot, as well as making it brighten up, basicaly she became a glowing target in the middle of the brown and green forest.
She could smell water, which would be good after this run, her paws beating on the soft ground as she floated towards her desitnation before... She yowled in supprise as her paws flew from the ground, having taken off gaurd as the golden and brown leader tackled into her head first. Flailing and rolling on the gound, Gentlebreeze made sure to wrap her paws around him so he would tumble down with her into a pile of leaves. She lay on her back, writhing with a loud, deep purr rumbling from her throat, though it came in gasps as she tried to catch her breath as well. Her green eyes twinkled as she lay there next to her leader giggling, her tail wagging under her, moving leaves in the process.
After a moment, she rolled over onto her side to face Lionstar, her leaf green eyes soft and light with amusement and glee. Her ears twitched as she waited for to catch her breath, and she was sure that he needed to catch his as well. She lay still for a bit, letting the sun lick at her white fur, warming her up as the scattered leaves settled around her body. After such time she opened her maw to break the silence that had settled around the two. "That was fun..." She purred softly, her green eyes run over his face to find his handsome amber eyes.

LIONSTAR TreeClan || 39 Moons It was more his reckless momentum then her paws around his ruff that had toppled him as well, but regardless of the cause, Lionstar was still lightly winded, sitting up to catch his breath and properly draw oxygen into his lungs. A low chuckle escaped the golden tom, flicking a leaf off his ear with a bushy plumed tail, "More like silly. I haven't behaved like that since I was an apprentice." Lionstar's words were not necessarily negative, merely hinting at nostalgia, as if thoughts of his younger moons were flooding back to him at that instant. Rolling around in the leaves with Gentlebreeze reminded him of one she-cat in particular; Willowfur, who had been his first ever crush, the object of his affection long dead after a small TreeClan tragedy. Does Grayowl still think of her?
What a stupid question. Of course the cold gray tom thought of his sister! That's what logic was telling him, anyway, but deep in his gut, Lionstar wasn't so sure. Grayowl didn't necessarily seem like the mourning type, and if the golden leader's memory still served him properly, he couldn't quite remember ever seeing Grayowl mourn the passing of his own sister. Of course, he'd been too much of a wreck that time to really be able to tell if it was day or night, so perhaps his suspicions were for nothing. Realizing another small stretch of silence had occurred - mainly due to him getting lost in his own musings - Lionstar shook his thick muzzle, whiskers quaking with the motion, already apologizing. "Sorry, Gentlebreeze. Feeling a little nostalgic, is all." His words came out warm at the end, as if he did not necessarily mind the slightly troubling thoughts he had surrounding Grayowl - he would focus on the good for right now, and worry about the discord later.
Inhaling deeply the scent of sun-warmed leaves and fresh grass, the golden and black-ticked tom stood up, signaling for Gentlebreeze to follow him with a casual shoulder-flick of the tail. Finding it easy to slip back into a good mood with the amicable Gentlebreeze nearby, he mewed over his shoulder with a quick side-step around some brambles. "C'mon, let's go find the brook. I'm parched."

~~Gentlebreeze~~
Soft green eyes watched Lionstar with worry as the white she-cat saw his eyes glow with a distant look. Pulling herself to her chest, her tail brushed against his flank, watching him look both happy yet sad. She wasn't sure what he was thinking about, but she figured it was about the she-cat he had once been close with. The white Treeclanner didn't know much about all of the haze that surrounded Lionstar and Grayowl, but she knew it involved a she-cat, maybe that was what was currently plaguing the mind of the handsome leader next to her. She watched him stand and after a moment, she followed in suit.
The gentle she-cat narrowed her eyes gently as Lionstar brushed away his nostalgic moment and headed towards where the Sparkling Brook lay. She followed after him, opening her white maw to speak to him. "Lionstar, are you ok?" Gentlebreeze asked in her signature soft meow, she trotted up to be shoulder to shoulder with the handsome tomcat, fur brushing as she turned her green orbs to stare into his own eyes. She tried to find the hidden emotions within, but he seemed to act like the moments beore never happened when he was laying with Gentlebreeze.
She tipped her head to the side, a worried expression entering those beautiful green eyes as she attempted to get him to talk to her. Her tail brushed against his flank softly, as if she were worried he was lost in his own thoughts again. "Lionstar?" She called again.

LIONSTAR TreeClan || 39 Moons "I'm fine, I promise." His response was immediate and strong, Lionstar not wanting Gentlebreeze to think for even a moment that he wasn't being honest; he really was fine. Sometimes the past came back to put a little extra weight upon his back or a sadness in his heart, but he was used to it, and was usually good at combating the melancholic nostalgia. He was sorry she had glimpsed a little of the wraiths lurking under the surface. Touched by her concern, the TreeClan leader leaned over to lightly brush his tongue over the tips of Gentlebreeze's bright white ears, the gesture meant to be interpreted as a 'thank you' of sorts, as though he appreciated her worry - no matter how unnecessary or necessary it might be.
Have you ever- He stopped this chain of thought before it could morph into an actual question; had Gentlebreeze ever lost someone she was close with? Was it any of his business? No, it wasn't. Even still, if he brought up the subject of Willowfur, then it would only darken the mood; he would save such grim talk for Stormchaser or Daringheart. Gentlebreeze deserved neither him burdening their time together with heavy thoughts and words nor pretending to know what sort of hardships she'd faced.
As busy as he was lately, Gentlebreeze could've lost a best friend recently and he wouldn't have known it. So absorbed in his own world - which was more or less TreeClan as a whole, the details of his Clanmates' lives often getting lost somewhere before it could reach him - Lionstar missed out on being a part of the smaller worlds all around him. Careful not to let the conversation turn dark, Lionstar still attempted to put his outdated social skills to work, whiskers and plume moving slightly in the wind. "How often do you think of the older days? Back when most of our generation were apprentices? Now those were fun times." Lionstar, or rather, Lionpaw had been particularly mischievous and reckless, preferring to tackle everything head on and fight whatever he came across.
It was hard to believe such a wild-hearted creature could have mellowed out so well.

"How often do you think of the older days? Back when most of our generation were apprentices? Now those were fun times."
White ears perked towards her leader, big green eyes wide with amusement from the question asked. The white she-cat was a couple moons younger than Lionstar, but she remembered him be a rather rambuncius young tom, expecially compaired to the way he acted now. A small purr of amusement rose in her throat as she flicked her tail. She padded up to stand by Lionstar's side as she opened her jaws to respond.
"You as an apprentice." She laughed slightly, "I slightly remember that, you thought you were invicible, able to rule the world." Gentlebreeze said with her soft voice before padding forwards a bit, trying to remember what she was like when she was younger. But for all she knew, she acted the same. A sweet, gentle and soft-voiced she-cat who stayed out of everyone's way and did as she was told. "Now, when you are talking about fun, are you talking about you and Grayowl and Adderstrike all getting in trouble?" She asked, tipping her head to the side.
Adderstrike, younger than the older two, didn't get introuble with them, but rather by himself. However, it still didn't make up for the fact that all three of them still got into a good amount of trouble in their younger years. The purring female pressed past Lionstar, she dipped her head down to take a nice lick from the stream the two and wandered apon. "I, was a good apprentice." She flicked her tail, turning her bright green eyes onto the handsome tom infront of her.

A chuckle filled the space between Gentlebreeze's response and Lionstar's, the handsome golden tom gazing at her with obvious humor. "I was a good apprentice too, mostly. You know, when I wasn't sneaking off or sticking my heads in badger sets." He may have been a very ambitious, very talented young cat at that age, but for every positive trait he'd had back then, there was a negative to balance it out. He may have been brave, loyal and with a natural affinity for battle, but he had been reckless and self-centered, a show off who didn't always know when to walk away. He'd gotten into his fair share of brawls, that was for sure.
Trying to remember the 'good apprentice' that had been Gentlepaw, Lionstar's memories were able to conjure up the image of a small, cute white she-kitten near Adderstrike or one of her other siblings, just as kind and stubborn as he knew her to be now. He hadn't really paid much attention to her back in those days - far too busy running a muck with Daringheart and Stormchaser to pay attention to anyone slightly younger than him.
"I wouldn't mind going back to simpler times," he confessed, tone still cheerful as he too stepped forward to take a few welcome gulps of water, the liquid refreshingly cool against his parched throat. "You know - back when our biggest obstacle was who could climb the Great Maple the fastest." Had she participated in silly competitions like that? He couldn't remember... Then again, he'd had eyes only for Willowpaw back then, so it was difficult to recall anyone outside of his immediate circle of friends unless they'd made a distinct impression on the young tom during that point of his life.
