[smear:993300]Hawkwing[/smear:CC6633] ~~~~~~~~ The large, sand colored tom stood atop an outcropping of rocks. He'd climbed up slightly earlier, wondering what the view was like from up here. He'd never had a chance to climb this high earlier in life, due to injuries, and other preoccupations. That morning, however, after he had organized some patrols, he figured he might as well give it a shot. It was quite beautiful up here; the view was so different. Rather than seeing a huge pile of fallen stones, you could see a rock paradise, where a Clan had established their home, where they thrived. Where they seemed happy.
Large paws shifted slightly, making sure he wasn't too close to the edge. There was no way to tell if the stone ledge might give out beneath his weight. He was a fairly large tom after all. With one more glance around, he began his descent, paw steps careful and calculated. Hawkwing couldn't afford to injure himself. If he did, the Clan would temporarily lose their deputy. They didn't need that. Fallingstar didn't need that. He might have moved quicker had he been a warrior, but on this particular day, he took extra care as he descended to the ground once more.
As light brown paws met the ground below, amber eyes allowed themselves to focus on something other than the rocks surface. He wasn't in danger of slipping now. His head swung from one direction to the other as he took in the camp around him. With a glance to the sky, he figured he still had a little bit of time before he should announce the next set of patrols. Perhaps, for the time being, he could find something else to do. He moved to the fresh-kill pile, picking something to eat. He had yet to eat anything today, and figured he should do that. No point in starving himself. He would just make sure he took part in one of the patrols this afternoon, to repay the Clan for his meal.
Trotting back towards a stone that lay out in the sun, the StoneClan deputy settled himself down upon the warm, gray outcrop. He couldn't help but purr as the heat soaked into his sand colored pelt. Sometimes, there was nothing better than stretching out in the sun and relaxing. It was just a shame he didn't get to do much of that anymore. He wondered how Fallingstar was able to deal with being leader. The sandy tom was fairly certain he would never be able to do what she did, and was convinced that, as the she-cat had more lives than he did, and was far younger, that she would outlive him, and he would never have to worry about such things.
What mattered was right now. And right now, he had a mouse that was just waiting to be eaten. With a silent thanks to StarClan he bent his head to take a bite.

L A R C H D A N C E Usually, the critique of other cats bothered her as much as feathers bothered a bird, but the dawn patrol had involved a decidedly unfriendly she-cat who had decided to blame Larchdance for her ex-mate’s infidelity. The small tussle had been over almost as quickly as it had begun, but fighting with another StoneClan cat was never a great way to start the day. Returning to camp just after the morning patrols left, her patched pelt was slightly rumpled: a fact which bothered her a bit but not enough to make her stop and fix it now. First, she could find a nice and sunny spot, and then reorder her fur and take a nice nap…
Light blue eyes caught an interesting sight before she could hunt down a patch of sunlight, however. The sand-colored tom known as Hawkwing, seemingly recently appointed as the deputy for Stone Clan, stepping down from a large pile of rocks. Imagining himself as the leader, perhaps? Was he that ambitious? Most of Larchdance’s ambition stemmed mostly from spite, but she knew other cats desired positions of power for some unfathomable reason. Had she misjudged him? Highly intrigued now, the dappled warrior took a seat off to the side while she groomed stray fur back into place. Sharp eyes watching as the deputy descended carefully, picked a mouse out of the fresh-kill pile, and returned to the rock pile. He wasn’t climbing to eat it, however… Deciding to investigate from the source, the she-cat strolled past the fresh-kill pile (she hadn’t caught anything during the patrol, but the other she-cat had and was glaring at her, so she couldn’t pick up something just yet) and over to where Hawkwing was eating.
“Is this spot taken?” the ex-queen purred, flopping over on her side in the sunlight anyway. Mostly-dark tail flicking invitingly contently, light blue eyes closed partially, giving an air of casualness and covering up how intently she was watching his response to her statement. “Usually only leaders and ambitious apprentices bother with a bird eye’s view of the camp…” This was a lie, of course: she herself had climbed one of the outcroppings before. The buzzword to watch him for was ‘ambitious’; any cat would probably point out her statement was a lie, but an ambitious cat would stall and stammer and perhaps deny his ambition first.
However, her own statement cued a remembrance of another little fact (or, something close to fact), and so the warrior pushed her luck a little further. “Speaking of birds, a little one told me about you and a certain she-cat, yes?” Larchdance purred as her eyes opened more; she was actually curious to hear his response with this question. “Now, are you and this she-cat a done deal, or is there still time for… negotiations?” Lying down sort of limited her options, and it would be too obvious and too much work to get up from her sun spot, so the brown and white she-cat remained on her side, tail flicking lazily and blue eyes sparkling as she waited for both his response and his answer.

~Valleyfall~
Pleased. If that was what you could call it. Or perhaps a bit disapointed. Those two combined probably would sum up the way Valleyfall was feeling at the moment. Two completely different feelings if you asked anyone else. But to her they were about the same thing. Or at least in her view. The large she-cat had gone out hunting, only a bit before Hawkwing had sent out the Dawn Patrol. She had found a varity of prey running about for this type of weather. Slightly warm, but with a cooling breeze and a slight overcast. One would say finding and catching four morals of prey was satisfying. But for Valleyfall, it couldn't be less.
The golden and white she-cat flicked her rather long tail as she entered the Stoneclan camp with three small mice and a flimsy thrust clamped tightly in her strong jaws. Her sky blue eyes glanced around the near quite campsite as she spotted a couple of the Dawn Patrol cats that had just returned as well as her Deputy, Hawkwing. She gave a slight nod towards him, not knowing if he had seen on not as he has just settled down with a peice of freshkill. Valleyfall continued where her paws took her, towards the Freshkill Pile so that she may deliver her prey for the day. Once done, she sat down to turn and lick the fur on her shoulders, in which she had gotten snagged when she was chasing down a particularly fast mouse.
Her ears flicked as she heard meows from a fellow clanmate over where Hawkwing was, she glanced up to view Larchdance laying near the deputy of Stoneclan. "Speaking of birds, a little one told me about you and a certain she-cat, yes?"... "Now, are you and this she-cat a done deal, or is there still time for... negotiations?".
Valleyfall narrowed her eyes slighty at the comment made by the other she-cat. She knew quite well that Larchdance was the flirt of the clan, and that many she-cats disliked her to well past normal extents. Valleyfall saw her for what she was, a she-cat who had a trait that some cats didn't like, that didn't mean that Valleyfall didn't like her, she had no reason to dislike the other she-cat for who she was. However, Valleyfall didn't think that it was wise to try and flirt with a tom, or the deputy for that matter, who had his eyes and heart set on another female. Valleyfall might bring that up in a conversation later when just she and Larchdance were alone, there was no point in calling her out on it or speaking behind her back. Both of those things would create tension and an arguement that Valleyfall wanted no part of. It was not fun to fight with a fellow clanmate.
After all, to Valleyfall, all clanmates where her family, their annoying quirks and all.

. : w o l f c l a w : . Wolfclaw stirred in his nest, green-gold eyes finally opening. He'd been on a late patrol the night before, and was indulging in a bit of rest afterward. The silver and black tom stretched, getting to his paws, before edging around the den and entering into the heart of the camp.
A massive yawn parted the large tom's jaws wide, an action that showed off dual rows of needle sharp pearly whites. Wolfclaw shook out his odd-colored fur and gazed around. His eyes caught a well-stocked fresh-kill pile, and he smiled. The Clan was doing well this new leaf. Massive paws carried him to pick up one of the many mice on the pile, and Wolfclaw thanked StarClan that StoneClan was beginning to prosper again.
Wolfclaw noticed the deputy, Hawkwing, laying out in the sun, with Larchdance nearby. The black-bottomed tom padded over, hopping up onto the rock beside them. He dropped his meal and dipped his head to Hawkwing. "Hello Hawkwing, Larchdance." Wolfclaw stretched out on his belly, enjoying the warm stone, but making sure to leave enough room for everyone else. He bit into the mouse, the still-warm flesh sliding easily down his throat.
His tailtip flicked lazily as he listened to Larchdance speak. He didn't particularly care for the flirty she-cat, but he said nothing. He knew how to tolerate others, even if they rubbed his fur the wrong way. And Larchdance definitely rubbed his fur the wrong way.

[smear:993300]Hawkwing[/smear:CC6633] ~~~~~~~ The sand hued deputy had been eating his mouse when he heard the sound of paw steps. His gaze flicked up, noticing Larchdance approaching him. He was well aware of the reputation she held, but chose not to judge her on it. It was her decision to act that way. He would not try to force her to act differently. From the corner of his eye, he noticed another she-cat, whom he identified as Valleyfall. He gave her a dip of his head in return to her own nod, before his attention was snatched by yet another cat. This one, a tom. He knew the darker colored tom as Wolfclaw. When the tom spoke, greeting both himself and Larchdance, the StoneClan deputy dipped his head once more, finishing the bite he had taken before speaking. "Greetings to you as well, Wolfclaw. And to you, of course, Larchdance."
He listened politely as the she-cat spoke, his tail twitching slightly as she continued. Upon her mention of the type of cats that climbs up high to view the camp, the tom's gaze was pulled back to the pile of rocks he'd climbed. Still, the she-cat wasn't finished speaking, so his amber gaze returned to her as his light brown ears pricked to listen to her. He chuckled slightly giving a shake of his head. The fur on his spine remained flat as he answered her questions as simply as he could. "In regards to my climbing of the rocks, I'd never been able to climb up there as an apprentice, and I simply find it a beautiful spot to be." He shifted slightly, large paws crossing over one another before he continued on. "As far as what you've heard from a little bird, I am afraid that there is nothing in regards to that topic that is up for any sort of negotiation."
He turned his gaze away from Larchdance, focusing on Wolfclaw. When he spoke, however, his question was obviously intended for the two of them. "How are you two on such a fine day? I hope StarClan is treating you well?"

L A R C H D A N C E A near-black ear swiveled as Larchdance listened to another cat’s approach, but she didn’t bother looking at them yet. Hawkwing was her topic of interest, not this other cat. Upon seeing it was Wolfclaw, the she-cat debated sitting up a little more, but decided against it and remained on her side, tail flicking occasionally. She knew the black and grey warrior liked her as much as the average she-cat, but had no clue as to why. Oh well. Not her problem if cats disliked her. “Hello,” she purred back to Wolfclaw, glancing over at him but overall not doing much with the rough-looking tom.
Black ears returned full-force to the deputy as he addressed her earlier statement, failing the ambition test with flying colors. She wasn’t exactly sure how a bunch of rocks could be considered beautiful, but if that’s what he liked… His next answer was much more interesting, anyway. “Nothing at all?” Larchdance purred teasingly, light blue eyes sparkling. "Shame..." Well, there’s that rumor confirmed. Good to know, although there wasn’t much the point-and-white cat could to with that information yet. Yet. She tilted her head, trying to think of things that could be done. Frozenrain had been injured in the battle with LightningClan, she knew; the battle had cost them the Sun Stones. The warrior had also heard that Hawkwing’s own apprentice, one of the cats with the curled-ears, had fled cowardly from battle. Hmm…
When the sand-colored tom turned his attention to the black-faced one, Larchdance took the opportunity to stretch out just a bit more, soaking up the sun into her slightly-tired muscles. Food would be better, but for now, sun was fine. StarClan? “The best sort of well: they’re ignoring me.” In her experience, StarClan mostly dealt with death, something the almost senior warrior was all too happy to avoid. It was where dead cats went, after all. Figuring she shouldn’t get too morbid with the poor toms, the she-cat added, “The weather’s proving a nice change from leaf-bare, however.” To emphasize her point, her dark tail flicked contently once more.

~Valleyfall~
Valleyfall shook out her fur once she finished grooming her shoulders before twitching her ears, still catching on to the conversation that consisted between Larchdance, Hawkwing and now Wolfclaw. The ginger and white flicked her rather long tail before grabbing two mice and trotting over towards the three cats. She caught a bit of Hawkwing's explination for being on the rocks, but she didn't see what the intrest was in that. Several cats climbed the rocks, be them kit, apprentices or warriors. It was a spot of power, a spot of dominanice. Many cats that Valleyfall knew, including herself, had climbed the rocks at least once in her life. She flicked her ridciulously long tail as she headed closer towards the trio of cats.
Valleyfall set down a mouse at Larchdance's paws, "I figured you would want something to eat." She purred softly, before settling down next to Larchdance. She didn't mind being near the flirtatious sh-cat, only because she knew that was Larchdance's nature and nothing could change that. It was what made Larchdance, well, Larchdance.
Valleyfall's sky blue eyes turning towards the other two toms. "Mind if I join your little group?" She asked with respect as she dipped her head towards Hawkwing once more. Her eyes turned to look over Wolfclaw, another warrior that Valleyfall knew somewhat off, before she turned her gaze back towards the deputy of Stoneclan, her long tail curled up around her flank as she placd her own mouse inbetween her two small front paws. Her ears twitched as the ginger and white she-cat caught the ends of Wolfclaw and Hawkwing's converstation, politly waiting for an anwser from either of the three cats she had come to join for a morning bite.
