The Rest
Description: Primarily tortoiseshell and white long-furred she-cat, Firekit was obviously named for her distinctive facial markings, splashes of ginger here and there as though applied with an artists' brush. While her back and down the outsides of her legs are also black, red and brown, her underbelly, chest, throat, lower muzzle and all four paws are as white as freshly fallen snow, a pleasant blend of 'winter and fall', her equally brindled tail reminiscent of a pile of autumn leaves. Her whiskers are unusually long, very white, and tend to curl or curve into any direction they please. Her eyes are a rich blend of copper-orange and amber, very full of life and wonderment and a usually always present timidity.
Perhaps due to her personality, Firekit gives off the aura of fragility and a gentle sort of grace, being not so rambunctious, more of a smell-the-roses-type of she-kit. Her body is primarily fluffy, structure petite, her copious amounts of fur hide a much smaller skeleton than the average kit. She is likely to stay a little under average for a full grown she-cat, and only time or experience will tell if is better suited to battle or hunting for the Clan.
Description Summary: A pretty tortoiseshell and white she-cat with dark amber eyes and a distinctive facial marking.
Personality: As negative as the term is, 'scaredy cat' describes her perfectly. With some of her earliest memories being rather unpleasant ones, Firekit has learned to fear the world and everything in it. Frightened of her own shadow, of the bigger warriors and cats with particularly loud voices, the only thing that doesn't seem to send her scuttling back to her mother's side are the flowers and the herbs in the Medicine Cat's den. Though Firekit does not yet have any aspirations for much of anything, the she-cat can glean enough from her time spent in the Medicine Cat's den to realize it's the only other place besides the nursery that she actually feels safe.
Very very sensitive to violence, Firekit can even grow excessively worried or frightened when the other kits play with each other too roughly. She is a worrywort, frequently written off by her fellow nurserymates as boring or a tattletale or weak, she takes their rudeness and their frustrations with her to heart, but fears them getting injured too much to keep to herself or keep quiet when they're roughhousing.
Firekit is the type of she-cat who usually expects the worst to happen in every situation, but has a natural affinity for the wonders of nature around her. She is one of the few cats who actually liked leafbare, finding the snow to be rather beautiful, though she is arguably enjoying this budding spring a lot more. Shy and introverted, Firekit keeps her emotions bottled up, even when something is truly bothering her, and often shuts down when excessively bullied, scolded or made incredibly frightened.
Despite her fragile psyche, she is a compassionate and always listening friend, not wanting to step on the paws of anyone, sometimes shoved out of her own comfort zone or taken advantage of because she does not want to disappoint her friends. Her heart is much bigger than her body, and will continue to grow as she does, even when the world proves sometimes to be just as frightening as she imagined it.
History: Firekit is the youngest daughter of Riverflower and Ashclaw, two average StoneClan warriors, though her father was known for his aggression, natural suspicion and ridiculous demise. The stalwart warrior ended up choking on a hawk bone, and before anyone could dislodge it or get the medicine cat, he died. Firekit hadn't even been born by that point in time, and only heard about her father's death at her mother's side a full moon later. Firekit was the second born of two kits, Firekit inheriting her mother's brown and white pelt, with her father's dark copper eyes.
Firekit's abhorrence for violence stems from one incident outside the warriors' den barely a half-moon back. While Firekit was taking her first few tentative steps beyond the safety of the nursery, coincidence brought her before two warriors - Thunderfang and Kitetalon - who, at that particular moment, chose to show everyone just how much they loathed each other. The ensuing fight was much more violent than it should've been, and it took a full five minutes before the other StoneClan warriors were able to separate the two, hissing and spitting and bleeding from one another. Petrified by what she had witnessed, Firekit bolted back to the nursery as fast as her white paws could carry her, and has tried not to set foot outside the nursery ever since.
Other: Theme Song: Healing Incantation from Tangled by Mandy Moore
Firekit is one of the Pantheon Kits, representing the hearth goddess, Hestia. Cerberus (Houndpaw) is her brother.
